Abstract: A process for the preparation of oxalate esters by the catalytic oxidative carbonylation of an alkoxycycloalkene with carbon monoxide, an alcohol and oxygen or an oxygen-containing gas in the presence of a metal salt catalyst and an amine base. In addition, a catalytic amount of particular metal oxidizing salts is employed along with a catalytic amount of an acid or an amine salt compound. Alternatively various counterions and ligands of the metal salt catalysts may be employed.
Abstract: Anti-allergic agents of aromatic oxamic acid derivation present the following formula: ##STR1## in which A is a member selected from the group consisting of .alpha.-naphthyl, .beta.-naphthyl, phenyl, 2,6-dichlorophenyl, and substituted phenyl moieties containing from one to three substituents in any of the 2,3,4 and 5 positions of the phenyl ring, independently selected from the group consisting of lower alkyl, lower alkylthio, lower alkylsulfinyl, lower alkoxy, hydroxy (lower)alkoxy, 2-(oxalyloxy) ethoxy, benzyloxy, N-mono- and di-lower alkylamino(lower)alkoxy, halo, sulfamyl, polyhalo(lower)alkyl, carbamyl, N-lower alkylcarbamyl, nitro, mono and di lower alkylamino, carboxy, lower alkylcarbonyl, carb(lower)alkoxy, phenoxy(lower)alkoxy, and oxalamidophenoxy radicals; And pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof.

Abstract: In the preparation of olefin derivatives having an ester group at the allylic position (hereinafter referred to as "allylic ester(s)") which comprises reacting an olefin having at least one hydrogen atom at the allylic position and which will produce an allylic ester having an asymmetric carbon atom with an organic peroxide in the presence of a copper catalyst, a method for producing optically active allylic esters characterized by using, as the copper catalyst, an optically active copper complex derived from an optically active compound selected from the group consisting of Schiff's bases of the formula: ##STR1## and amino acids of the formula: ##STR2## wherein R.sub.0 is an optically active alkyl, cycloalkyl, aralkyl or aryl group which may contain an unsaturated bond and/or a substituent having a hetero atom, X and Y are each a hydrogen atom, an alkyl, cycloalkyl, aralkyl or aryl group, or a substituent having a hetero atom, R.sub.1 and R.sub.
Abstract: Novel polyoxyalkylene fluoroalkyltrimellitate compounds are disclosed that are useful for improving the soil release properties of textiles. These compounds may be conveniently prepared by reacting a fluorinated alkyl thiol or amine with trimellitic anhydride monoacid chloride to form a fluorinated trimellitic anhydride intermediate product which is then reacted with a polyoxyalkylene derivative.
Abstract: A process for the preparation of oxalate esters by the catalytic oxidative carbonylation of an enol ether with carbon monoxide, an alcohol and oxygen-containing gas in the presence of a metal salt catalyst and an amine base. In addition, a catalytic amount of particular metal oxidizing salts is employed along with a catalytic amount of an acid or an amine salt compound. Alternatively various counterions and ligands of the metal salt catalysts may be employed.
Abstract: Methylenemalonates are prepared by reacting a substituted norbornene with an electrophilic material in the presence of a lithium amide complex and pyrolyzing. The resulting acrylates are useful as fast setting, polymerizable adhesives.
Abstract: 11-Substituted prostaglandins E.sub.1, E.sub.2 and F.sub.2.alpha. useful as cardiovascular agents and as agents for inducing labor in pregnant females and for the termination of pregnancy and a process for preparing these prostaglandins.
