Benzene Ring Containing Patents (Class 564/282)
  • Patent number: 4268439
Abstract: Basic azo dyestuffs which are free from sulfonic acid and carboxylic acid groups and correspond to the formula ##STR1## wherein the radical have the below mentioned meaning, water-solubility and drawing speed and are used for dyeing and printing of polymers and copolymers of acrylnitrile, acid-modified polyesters or polyamides, and for dyeing of leather, tanned cotton, polyurethanes, writing liquids, lignin-containing fibres and for coloring of printing pastes.

  • Patent number: 4265810
Abstract: Zwitterionic diazonium salts, derived from aromatic amines, are aggregated by: (a) diazotizing said amine to a zwitterionic diazonium salt in the presence of a cationic surfactant or (b) diazotizing said amine and thereafter treating the resulting zwitterionic diazonium salt with a cationic surfactant, so as to give particles of the diazonium salts which are readily separable from the liquid mass in which they are formed.

  • Patent number: 4259217
Abstract: Laundry detergent compositions containing no phosphate or low levels of phosphate materials and specific mixtures of selected nonionic surfactants and selected cationic surfactants are disclosed. The nonionic/cationic surfactant mixtures are formulated to have "cloud point" characteristics and, preferably, reduced cationic monomer concentrations as defined herein. These compositions are unusually effective in removing greasy and oily soils and body soils from fabrics; they are also effective in the removal of particulate soils. A process is disclosed for laundering fabrics using compositions containing nonionic surfactants and cationic surfactants.

  • Patent number: 4238373
Abstract: A process for quaternization of tertiary amines in a reaction medium comprising a water soluble or water dispersible organic compound of MWt>240 which is liquid at the quaternization reaction temperature, one of the quaternization reactants having a BPt<200.degree. C. and being volatile relative to the other reactants, to permit its removal after the completion of quaternization to leave a product comprising an intimate mixture of a cationic surfactant and the reaction medium in a weight ratio of 2:1 to 1:50. Preferably the reaction medium is an ethoxylated nonionic surfactant.
