  • Patent number: 7096655
Abstract: In a process for manufacturing a singles ring yarn, firstly a first twist is supplied to a strand of traveling drafted fibers at a false twist device for producing a preliminary singles yarn. The false twist device rotates at a first speed for twisting the fibers. Immediately after the first twisting step, a joint twist of a second twist in the same direction as the first twist and a third twist in a reversed direction is supplied to the preliminary yarn for producing a final singles ring yarn. The second twist is produced by a rotatable take-up package onto which the final singles yarn is drawn. The reversed twist results in correspondence to the first twist, and the take-up package rotates at a second speed. The final singles yarn is then drawn onto the take-up package. Furthermore, a ratio of the first speed to the second speed is controlled for controlling the amount of a residual torque in the final singles ring yarn.

  • Patent number: 6860095
Abstract: An internal torque balancing method of short fiber yarns related to the art of textile and the manufacturing apparatus thereof. The present invention proposes a completely new mechanical processing method of single torque-free yarns, and applies it into the process of ring spinning. Said method accomplishes a machine and a possibility of processing single torque-free yarns within one processing step by simple improvement on the existing ring spinning machine. Said technique is applicable to the production of all types of short fiber materials, and can overcome the maximum bundle yarn count of Ne limit of the torque-free yarns processed by the existing physical balancing technique. Meanwhile, said technique can process the yarns with low twist, which is unable to be processed normally by the conventional ring spinning machine. The torque-free singles ring spinning machine has good mechanical behavior, good handle, and evenness without residual torque.

  • Patent number: 5899056
Abstract: In a spinning process for producing a yarn, fiber material in the form of at least one sliver is opened to a fibrous veil consisting of single fibers, and is deposited on an air-permeable suctioned collecting surface. The speed of the fibrous veil transported on the collecting surface is preferably not higher than the speed of the drawn off yarn. Before reaching the yarn formation line located on the collecting surface, the fibrous veil is divided into a plurality of fiber accumulations and thereby pre-twisted to strands. The position and travelling direction of the strands on the collecting surface is defined by guiding edges of suction slits. The individual strands are guided off transversely to the yarn formation line, whereby the extent of the pre-twist and the extent of the transport force is determined by the angle of the strands to the yarn formation line. Pre-twisted strands are wound around each other along the yarn formation line so that a type of ply-twisted yarn arises.

Abstract: Wire stranding apparatus for giving a periodic reverse twisting operation, in which a rotationally flexible elongate member, preferably a rod, carries wire guiding elements extending radially outwardly from it. Each element has guide holes for wires as they are passed along the rod. Stranding is done by holding an upstream end of the rod stationary and while the wires are moved along guide paths, the downstream end of the rod is rotated for a predetermined number of revolutions about its axis alternately in one direction and then the other. Wires are thus stranded in alternating directions.

Abstract: Method of and apparatus for break spinning yarn in a spinning machine. A fiber ribbon is formed into a fiber ribbon, the ribbon is false twisted in a first twisting element, staple fiber ends are lifted from the false twisted ribbon in a second, re-spinning twist imparting element, the second element being driven in the same direction as but at a higher speen than the first element, the thus resulting spun yarn is given an additional, true twist, and is then wound on a bobbin.

  • Patent number: 4244175
Abstract: A three-dimensioned crimp filament is prepared by twisting a bundle of large denier filaments into a single twist while said filaments are stretched between a freely-rotatable first roller with a peripheral groove having 10-500 mm of diameter at a grooved portion and at least one other freely-rotatable second roller in a total denier of 50,000-3,000,000 denier by means of twisting action in a subsequent double twist step, double twisting said single-twisted filaments into a double twist up to said first roller and heating the filaments thus twisted into a double twist while passing them through a tubular guide means, cooling said double-twisted filaments to effect a heat-set while maintaining the twisting action; untwisting said double-twisted filaments thus heat-set to form three-dimensioned crimp filaments, and cutting said untwisted three-dimensioned crimp filaments into stable lengths.

Abstract: An apparatus for manufacturing a three-dimensioned crimp filament comprising: a drive means for pulling filaments; a group of guide rollers arranged in a reverse U-shaped roller group, said roller group being provided ahead of said drive means and adapted to be rotated about a longitudinal axis such as to give forward and rearward portions of a plurality of filaments while stretched with a single twist formed thereon and being transferred by said drive means mutually opposite twisting actions; a pair of rotative rollers each provided with a groove, said roller pair being provided immediately after the roller at the forward end in said roller group and provided with a non-slip means for pulling the single twisted forward portion of said filaments at a transfer speed such that the filaments of said forward portion form into a double twist and are cooled sufficiently to effect a thermal set; a heating means provided ahead of said roller group and serving to heat the filaments formed with a double twist; a single
