  • Publication number: 20150128555
Abstract: A frictional false twister is disclosed. The twister has a plurality of rotating friction plates located between the nip of the front rollers and the yarn guide. The friction plates are staggeringly arranged for rubbing a twisted yarn. The spinning direction of the twisted yarn is opposite to the rotating direction of the friction plates. Through the action of the frictional false twister, the twist of the yarn between the false twisting device to the front nip can be increased, shortening the twisting triangle height, and increasing the spinning strength. As the yarn and the outer surface of the friction plate make relative sliding and rubbing, the friction damping force correspondingly reduces the spinning tension in the twisting triangle.

The resulting signal is processed through a time filter to produce a time averaged signal, and the time averaged signal is compared with a set point signal to produce an adjusting signal which acts to control the false twisting unit so as to provide a substantially constant tension. The adjusting signal is also used to detect deficiencies of the false twisting process which disturb the uniformity of the texturing process.

  • Patent number: 4771598
Abstract: In an arrangement for texturing threads used in producing yarn, the threads are preheated by passing through channels of a contact heater before passing through the known yarn texturing, e.g. false twisting units. To increase thread and yarn production with a particular contact heater, two threads are passed through a respective heating channel in the heater, rather than one thread. To accomplish this, one thread has a right hand, regular or Z-twist or turn and the other has a left hand, reverse or S-twist or turn, and their crimp causes them to avoid each other at opposite sides of the channel, and not to undesirably contact. A respective texturing unit is supplied for each of the threads that has been heated.

  • Patent number: 4339915
Abstract: An apparatus for false twisting a yarn is provided which comprises, in one embodiment, a thin pliable disc mounted for rotation with a cooperating disc or roller to define a twisting zone between opposing friction surfaces thereof. A pressure applying member is mounted adjacent the back face of the pliable disc for biasing the disc toward the other member locally at the twisting zone so as to firmly engage the yarn passing through the twisting zone and while the friction surfaces remain in substantially non-contacting relationship with respect to each other. The pressure applying member utilizes an air cushion between the member and back face of the disc to minimize friction. Where two discs are employed, they may be mounted for rotation in a common direction, and such that the yarn may be guided through the twisting zone without passing between the axes of rotation of the discs.
