Abstract: A tremor reduction device is disclosed. The tremor reduction device has a mechanical flap having a flap portion arranged to apply pressure on part of an inner arm in order to reduce tremor. The pressure can be manually adjusted by moving a rod in a channel in the tremor reduction device. The tremor reduction device has a case for pivotably mounting the mechanical flap and the pressure is at least partly determined by the angle of the mechanical flap relative to the case. The rod has a tapered section and the mechanical flap has a pin in contact the tapered section for changing the angle of the mechanical flap. Optionally a sensor is placed near the pressure applying location to sense the tremor and to provide a sensing signal to a driving mechanism which causes the rod to move in order to adjust the pressure.

Abstract: A massager with symmetric massaging structure includes first and second casing assemblies coupled to a connection belt each and connected pivotally by first and second movable sleeves, respectively. The casing assemblies, whose included angles are adjustable, have therein power sources for driving first and second transmission members connecting with and driving first and second massaging sets to knead a user's body in a fixed-point manner. The transmission members drive the tooth-guiding groove screws to advance toward the movable sleeves in a fixed-point manner, respectively. With first and second tooth-like keys, the movable sleeves engage with tooth-guiding grooves of the tooth-guiding groove screws, respectively. The tooth-guiding groove screws rotate to pull synchronously the casing assemblies toward each other or away from each other.

  • Patent number: 8905952
Abstract: A simple, lightweight, portable, lumbar spinal distraction device is provided which employs a frame having concave left and right hand upper leg contacting members for asserting forces against substantially vertically oriented left and right upper leg portions of a user assuming a substantially horizontal position. The user pushes the portable frame forward by manually grasping a pair of handles, causing the left and right contacting members to press against the vertically oriented left and right upper leg portions respectively. Increased unilateral traction ability is produced by simply having the user apply extra force to one handle or the other. This will permit users suffering from unilateral pain in the buttocks, hip or leg to obtain a little extra pressure on the symptomatic side. Anyone who has suffered low back pain can relate to the fact that some days the pain feels more right sided and some days more left sided.

Abstract: A method and device for reducing the damaging effects of radiant energy, blast, or concussive events includes applying pressure to at least one jugular vein to reduce the egress of blood from the cranial cavity during or before the incidence of the imparting event. Reducing blood outflow from the cranial cavity increases intracranial volume and/or pressure of the cerebrospinal fluid to reduce the risk of traumatic brain injury and injuries to the spinal column. Reducing blood outflow further increases the intracranial pressure and volume, and thereby increases the pressure and volume of the cochlear fluid, the vitreous humor and the cerebrospinal fluid to thereby reduce the risk of injury to the inner ear, internal structure of the eye and of the spinal column. In addition, increasing intracranial pressure and volume reduces the likelihood of brain injury and any associated loss of olfactory function.

MFES consists of 2 shafts, each affixed with 2 CAMs featuring surround peaks and valleys surfaces, a platform with stiffener side and compliant other side, and 4 plungers at the corners. The shafts tied with timing bets through pulleys are driven with DC motor. As the CAMs rotate the peaks and valleys make contacts with the platform stiffener side causing the platform to telescope 1 mm to 4 mm displacements, transferring contact stress stimuli from platform stiffener to compliant human contact side at frequency that encompass muscle fiber excitation frequencies. Wearable and standing model tests show improved bone density, muscle contraction and blood flow, preventing blood pooling. There is no side effect compared to use of blood thinners for blood clot prevention. Wearable model is concealable compared to compression pneumatic device with user complaints.
