The pad has an exterior surface and also an interior surface positionable in facing contact with the interior surface of pants. A central adhesive strip in a rectangular configuration extends for between 40 percent and 60 percent of its length along the length of the central section. The central adhesive strip extends for between 40 percent and 60 percent of its length through the cross section. Each of two laterally disposed side adhesive strips is in a rectangular configuration with a width essentially equal to the width of the central adhesive strip and a length extending for between 30 percent and 40 percent of its length of the central adhesive strip.

The waistband is provided on a top edge portion of the underwear fabric. Abstract: A diaper for holding an absorbent article in close bodily contact in the crotch region of the wearer. The diaper comprises a front region, a crotch region having a specified Crotch Holding Force, and a rear region. The crotch region of the diaper typically is elastically extensible in both the longitudinal and lateral directions. The diaper provides an upward holding force against the absorbent article in the crotch region to hold the article in close bodily contact. A system comprising the diaper and an absorbent article for use therewith, and a method for holding such an article in close bodily contact by wearing the diaper, is also disclosed.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an adaptive clothing boxer short undergarment which is suitable for a male or female wearer. More specifically, the present invention relates to a boxer short undergarment directed to facilitating the effective and efficient changing of an individual's diaper by allowing the boxer short to be easily removed. In one embodiment the boxer short undergarment has detachable left and right side seams which enable quick changing of the diaper which is underneath the boxer short undergarment. In yet another embodiment, the inside seam is also detachable allowing complete separation from the front and back portions of the short. In addition, a peek panel or translucent patch may be integrated into the shorts to allow the caregiver quick and easy visual identification as to the soiled status of the diaper without having to disrupt the individual by physically moving them.

Abstract: The present invention provides an improved quick-release and refastenable underpants-type undergarment. The front and back panels of the undergarment are attached at the hip with an openable fastener on at least one side of the undergarment, and are also attached at the crotch with an openable fastener. The fastenings can be comprised of any type of mating-pair compatible fastener devices, such as Velcro. The hip and crotch fasteners allow the undergarment to be easily and quickly removed by pulling on the undergarment, regardless of whether the wearer is sitting, prone, mobile or immobile. The undergarment can also be reattached in position on the wearer even if the wearer cannot stand, balance, or move their legs. The embodiment with a single hip opening can be removed, washed, and used in a single piece and does not require reattaching multiple pieces upon re-use.

Alternatively, the woman may elect to remove the entire pad assembly and replace it with a new one. A waist portion around the waist opening 5, while worn by a wearer, applies a pressure of 0.3 to 1.5 kPa to the wearer's body.

Abstract: Absorbent articles such as disposable diapers and disposable pant like garments are disclosed. In particular, absorbent articles such as disposable diapers and pants having an improved barrier cuff structure for improved fit are described. The placement of a barrier cuff structure having a tackdown point near the waistband of the article tends to “pull down” the waistband and may cause sagging. Intermediate tackdown bonds are disclosed to achieve the containment benefits of a barrier cuff structure without sacrificing fit characteristics of the article. The intermediate tackdown may be intermediate one or both of the longitudinal ends of the barrier cuff strip and the lateral side edges of the strip. Additionally, the relationship of forces, angles, and design characteristics of aspects of the articles and sagging are disclosed.

Abstract: An elastic-powered shrink laminate includes a shrinkable layer and an elastic layer bonded together while the elastic layer is in a dimensionally unstable, stretched state. The elastic layer remains substantially in the stretched state prior to shrinkage of the shrinkable layer. When the shrinkable layer is activated, the laminate retracts, and the retraction is aided (i.e. powered) by the elastic layer. The elastic-powered shrink laminate is useful in personal care absorbent articles where latent, post-assembly retraction of a waistband region is desired.

Embodiments of the invention also provide methods for preparing a sleeve by applying a medicinal composition to the inner surface of the medicinal section through the openings at the perforated section. Embodiments of the invention also provide methods for relieving pain in a body portion by pulling the sleeve in an outside-out configuration straight up a body portion without having to roll and flip its exterior surface outside.

Abstract: A system comprising a thong-shaped holder for holding an absorbent article in close bodily contact in the pudendal region of the wearer. The holder comprises a front region, a crotch region having a specified Crotch Holding Force, and a rear region. The crotch region of the holder typically is elastically extensible in both the longitudinal and lateral directions. The holder provides an upward holding force against the absorbent article in the crotch region to hold the article in close bodily contact. A method for holding such an article in close bodily contact by wearing the holder is also disclosed.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing an absorbent article, and an absorbent article, in the form of a pants-type diaper or a sanitary panty, starting from a flat blank which includes an elongated absorbent body enclosed between two casing sheets which at opposing front and rear end parts of the absorbent body have side parts which extend laterally beyond the body on both sides thereof. The method includes the step of folding the blank around a transverse axis so that the end edges of the side parts lie edge-to-edge. At least one folded band of flexible material is placed between each pair of front and rear side parts which lie opposite one another in the folded state of the blank, and the free ends of the bands are fastened to adjacent side parts.
