Abstract: A patterning device for a circular knitting machine which is particularly adapted for quick style changes. The device comprises a rotor element with a plurality of lobes around the periphery thereof, a drive motor for rotating the rotor element in synchronous rotational movement with the needle cylinder, and a control for actuating the drive motor according to a predetermined program in order to determine which of the lobes will be brought into registry with a respective needle jack to force it out of engagement with the cam and which of the lobes will be caused to miss a respective needle jack and thereby allow the jack to be cammed.
Abstract: A needle selector device for a multi yarn feed knitting machine comprises a stack of angularly movable sliders mounted about a common axis, the sliders being selectively movable between three positions, namely the knitting, tucking and floating positions. The sliders define cams which depending on the selected position of the slider can engage steering butts on a pivotable pattern bar connected through a swivel bar to a knitting needle.
Abstract: A pattern contained in an information carrier is transferred to and stored in a pattern drum provided with feeler levers, a retaining guide, and a switch. Upon the movement of the lock over the needle bed, this pattern is then transferred to pushing rod jacks which in turn act upon the needles. The pattern can be suspended for a predetermined distance during an interruption phase while the pattern information itself is retained in the pattern drum, and rapid and reliable operation of the knitting machine is ensured by the use of resilient or articulated feeler levers having nose-like projections at their outer ends. To ensure proper guidance of the feeler levers, the retaining guide includes a needle-shaped portion extending into the vicinity of the switch.
