Abstract: A multi-purpose tool includes a weighted driver that can carry either of a pair of rods having different widths for driving different sized fasteners or can carry various other attachments to provide six different tool configurations. Each rod slides within a correspondingly sized hollow sleeve. The weighted driver is repeatedly translated causing one of the rods to slide within its corresponding sleeve and repeatedly impact the head of a fastener to drive the fastener into a desired surface. The rods are each selectively threadably attached to the driver and readily removed therefrom thus permitting the tool to be easily switched between first and second configurations and easily disassembled for storage in a tool belt or in a tool box. A plumb bob tip and a string brace are attachable to the weighted driver to provide a relatively heavy plumb bob, the plumb bob tip being directly attachable to the string brace to provide a relatively lightweight plumb bob.

Abstract: An apparatus for cleaning a computer mouse having a cavity for housing a sphere and a plurality of internal components is disclosed. The apparatus includes a body having a first end and a second end, the body having a handle portion disposed proximate the first end and a cleaning portion disposed proximate the second end, the cleaning portion having a width dimension which is slightly larger than the diameter of the computer mouse sphere and having a surface which includes a number of resilient, deformable hooks. The cleaning portion is inserted into the cavity of the computer mouse and rotated, thereby causing the number of hooks to remove debris from the internal components of the computer mouse. The apparatus further includes a retaining ring removal device which facilitates the removal of a retaining ring of the computer mouse, the retaining ring removal device being disposed at the first end of the body, and an interior cavity which facilitates the storage of accessories within the body.

Abstract: A tool including a first member, a second member, and a connector pivotally connecting the members together. The first and second members are pivotal relative to each other to convert the tool between a closed condition whereat the members overlie each other and an extended condition whereat the members extend from each other. The first member and/or the second member includes a tooling component which may be used when the tool is in the extended condition. The tool having an exterior surface defined by the first member, the second member, and the pivotal connector when the tool is in the closed condition. The tool may be carried on a keyring along with a set of keys whereby it may be conveniently carried in a pocket or purse.

Abstract: A spool release tool that includes two tools that may be used separately or together to release a two piece spool of the type that includes a rotary locking and release mechanism. The first, a spool turn handle tool, includes a handle and an adapter on the handle. The adapter is configured to operatively connect the handle to one of the flanges of the spool. The adapter, for example, may be a pair of spaced apart parts that project from the handle to fit into openings on the outer flange of the spool. The second tool, a spool stop, includes a base and an arm. The base is configured to be supported in a stationary position on the fixture. The arm extends away from the base to engage and hold the inner flange.

Abstract: A fishhook threading mechanism that can be temporarily attached to a fishhook eye to allow a user to easily and quickly thread a fishhook and then removed from the line by either crushing the threader or guiding the line through a radial slot located in the threader so that a user may have a fishing line free of the fishhook threading mechanism.

Abstract: A thin card-like housing that incorporates a retractable brush and other useful implements. The brush has a base with an outer edge from which bristles extend. The base includes a deflectable web portion having a rib extending through an actuation opening in the housing. Manual engagement of the rib is used to move the brush from an outwardly extended operative position to a retracted storage position within the housing. The web portion includes wedge parts that releasably engage detent structures inside the housing. The detent structures are positioned to correspond to the storage and operative positions of the brush. The housing interior also includes guide posts that extend through guide openings in the brush base to facilitate brush alignment and movement.

Abstract: A combination tool includes many useful features for a carpenter. A nail-starting head of the tool includes differently sized nail starting, through holes. In operation, a nail is inserted into one of the through holes and frictional engaged thereby. The carpenter starts the nail into a piece of building material, and then pulls on a handle of the tool to free the tool from the nail. The nail is then driven into the building material. The tool also includes a graduated straight edge along the handle and a T-square formed between the handle and the head. The handle is approximately sixteen inches long and the graduation markings assist the carpenter in finding a next adjacent wallboard stud, once a first wallboard stud is located.

Abstract: An inflation/repair device for bicycle tires includes a pumping device including a head, a handle, and a piston rod having a first end slidably received in the head and a second end securely attached to the handle move therewith. The handle is releasably, securely engaged with an axle of a wheel. A tire removing/mounting member is mounted the head to engage with an inner peripheral end edge of a tire mounted on a rim of the wheel for removing the inner peripheral end edge of the tire out of the rim or mounting the inner peripheral end edge of the tire into the rim.

Abstract: An exchange power hand tool includes a power section having a motor encased in a housing and two tool sections, respectively serving as a wrench and a jack actuator, alternately and exchangeably engageable with the power section to be driven thereby so as to provide one power hand tool with two functions. The power section has an output pinion mounted on the motor spindle to be engageable by a driving gear chain of the tool sections for transmission of torque from the power section to the tool section for selectively performing wrenching operation or jack actuation.

Abstract: An integrated modular ice axe head is disclosed including a first base member fixedly attached to a handle and a second base member, attachable to the first base member, which has an accessory, such as a hammer head or adze formed integrally therewith. Preferably, the two base members form a receiving slot when they are attached to one another for receiving and holding the base of an accessory, such as an ice pick. Because the first and second base members can move toward and away from one another before attachment is completed, the receiving slot is of variable width and facilitates pieces having loose tolerances.

Abstract: A bicycle pump and tire repair apparatus incorporating into a single unit an air pump for inflating a bicycle tire, a tire lever for removing a tire from a bicycle rim, a spoke wrench for repairing and adjusting the spokes of a rim, and a compartment for storing a patch for repairing a punctured bicycle tire is disclosed. The air pump is compactly designed for carrying on a bicycle. A thumblock on the head of the pump performs a dual function of locking the nozzle of the pump onto the valve of a tire being inflated, and it functions as a tire removal lever. A cap on the head of the pump has a knurled surface for abrading an inner tube to prepare it for application of a patch. A slot in the pump handle holds a second tire lever, and a compartment in the end cap of the handle stores a self-adhesive patch for repairing a punctured tire.

Abstract: A multi-purpose lamp fixture tool for easily testing and repairing common defects of screw-bulb lamp sockets. The tool is configured to check for electrical power input to lamp sockets, repair lamp socket bottom contacts, test light bulbs, and remove the bases of shattered bulbs from lamp sockets. The tool also includes a light bulb indicator which indicates whether electrical power is still being supplied to the lamp socket.

Abstract: A combination cleaning and plunger tool consisting of a handle portion having at one end a brush for cleaning surface areas. The other end of the tool includes a cylindrical plunger portion which can be used to move refuse from the bottom of a sink into a garbage disposal unit. Located between the plunger and handle portion is a plate member including depending legs. The plate member is larger than the drain opening of a sink and the plunger is smaller than the drain opening, so that the plunger can force material through the drain opening and the plate will limit the movement of the plunger. The plate is provided with legs so that liquid can freely flow into the drain opening when the tool is used during the plunging action or when it is merely in a stored position with the plunger located in the drain opening when it is not being used.

Abstract: A blade sharpener for a pocket knife is in the form of an appendage which can be removably secured to the knife handle and which carries a superabrasive layer sharpening surface, such as an electroplated diamond grit. The appendage may take the form of a pair of tweezers, such as those commonly found on Swiss army type knives, with the superabrasive layer being attached to its inside surfaces.

Abstract: A multipurpose utensil which comprises a tubular casing and a pair of spoons. Each spoon includes a small, shallow bowl having a rim thereabout which is on an end of a handle. The spoons are positioned with the rims face to face, allowing the handles to be inserted together into a first end of the tubular casing, with the bowls together forming an enclosed compartment.

Abstract: An angle-adjustable C-clamp has a handle with an upper interior to receive a rod. The upper front edge of the handle has a couple of step-shaped front edges with two positioning posts extending forward from each front edge. The positioning posts are inserted in a rotary seat and a disk plate. The rotary seat has a central opening to receive the positioning posts. An upper and lower seat lugs are protruded upward and downward from the rotary seat, respectively. The disk plate which has a central square hole and four rectangular holes corresponding to the four positioning posts is disposed in the rotary seat. The C-shaped frame has a lobe at one end and a fixed jaw at the other end. The lobe connects the lower seat lug. The rod has a ball at front end. The rod passes through the central opening and the square hole. The ball is inserted in the socket of the movable jaw.

Abstract: A battery contact cleaning tool which comprises a top portion, including a brush for cleaning the battery contact; a bottom portion for reaming and/or smoothing a battery contact; and an intermediate portion connecting the top portion and bottom portion. The present invention additionally provides for a cap to cover the brush located on the top portion of the battery cleaning tool.

Abstract: A tool for facilitating cleaning of a sink and positioning of food debris into a garbage disposal. The inventive device includes a handle having a scraping assembly extending from a first end thereof for scraping food from a surface of the sink. A plunger assembly extends from a second end of the handle for facilitating positioning of food debris into a garbage disposal of the associated sink.

Abstract: An improved key holder case with easy access feature is provided, which consists of a housing for carrying at least one key therein. A structure is for easy accessing at least one key from the housing, so that at least one key will extend out from the housing to allow a person to utilize at least one key in a lock.

Abstract: A hand-held cleaning and dressing tool for foam buffing pads includes a series of toothed cleaning wheels mounted for independent rotation on a common shaft attached to the end of a pistol grip handle. The cleaning wheels are shrouded to help capture caked material picked up from the surface of the rotating pad. The tool also includes an abrasive dressing surface to reshape the buffing pad as a result of wear. Both the cleaning and dressing tools are operated by holding the same in operative contact with the rotatably driven pad.

Abstract: A combination hinge adjustment and pintle removal tool which has the ability to perform three functions in a single wrench-shaped hand tool. A first end of the tool includes a punch tip mounted orthogonal to the longitudinal axis of the tool, which is used to initially dislodge the hinge pintle from the hinge by driving the opposite side of the tool body with a hammer. The same end of the tool also includes a cupped indentation centered colinear with the longitudinal axis of the tool. The radius of this indentation is such that it will snugly fit around the shaft of a hinge pintle beneath the head of the pintle so that it may be hammer-driven upward in order to complete removal from the hinge. The second, or opposite end of the tool includes an opening with an offset spanner tip on one of the jaws surrounding the aperture. This end of the tool is used to bend a hinge without a pintle into alignment when adjusting the door within a jam or frame.

Abstract: The present invention is a key ring splitter for separating an end of a conventional key ring so as to locate keys thereon or also remove keys. The present invention utilizes a pulling motion to separate the key ring instead of a pushing motion and also includes a self-alignment feature. The key ring splitter includes a front section with a front end and a rear section with a rear end. The front section is provided with a small rectangular shaped opening which is defined by an upper edge, a lower edge, a proximal edge adjacent to the front end, and an opposite distal edge.

Abstract: A strainer basket is integrally connected to a rectangular frame that is integrally connected to an elongated handle. At the end of the handle opposite from the frame, the handle broadens into a grip and then narrows and terminates in a small hook; the small hook is designed for removing the covers of skimmer wells in swimming pools. An elongated flange projects from the rectangular frame on the frame side opposite to the handle, and forms an elongated hook that is useful for grasping skimmer basket handles; thus, the tool permits removal and cleaning of skimmer baskets from pool skimmer wells without the user having to bend over and risk contact of their hands with pool scum, dead leaves, and the occasional live snake or other undesirable live or deceased animals encountered during the cleaning of pool skimmers.

Abstract: A snow scraper includes transparent main body with a hand grip portion and a blade formed on one end of the hand grip portion. The blade has a front portion which is provided with an inclined shoveling edge and a plurality of claws. The snow scraper further has a pressure indicating unit, a tire tread measuring unit and a light bulb unit and a magnifying glass.

Abstract: A wrench assembly for retaining a pair of propane tanks in spaced relationship, while providing a convenient storage structure for a wrench required for maintenance of the propane tanks. The assembly includes a threaded rod positioned between the propane tanks, and a bracket securely retains the tanks in position when a wrench having a threaded opening is screwed onto the threaded rod. The assembly overcomes the problems associated with the misuse of tools when the appropriate wrench is unavailable.

Abstract: A bicycle tool kit which provides either a number of open end or box style wrenches in a plate-like web attached to an end of an elongated handle. Attached to the top of the handle is a chain link remover for repairing broken links of bicycle chains. The threaded shaft of the chain link remover is adapted for removably retaining a separate deep socket and two allen wrenches, one of which has a screw driver tip. A wrench is also provided for adjusting the tension of the spokes of the bicycle wheels. The bicycle tool kit is structured to be lightweight, compact, and highly portable, and yet still offer most of the tools necessary for making adjustments and repairs to a bicycle should a problem develope while riding.

Abstract: The sharp end of this tool, fitted with an ordinary oil filter socket is centered against the bottom of an installed vehicular oil filter. Using an ordinary socket wrench attached to the other end of this tool, as a handle, the sharp end is pushed through the thin sheetmetal housing and interior partition of the oil filter. Once this tool has punctured the two sheetmetal surfaces, friction between: the tool and the two sheetmetal surfaces; and the ordinary oil filter socket and the exterior of the oil filter, holds the tool suspended from the oil filter. Once punctured, the oil filter drains through the hollow interior of this tool to the low end, where the flow is checked by a simple valve. To drain the oil filter and the tool, the valve is simply opened and the contents flow into a suitable container. After the flow has stopped: the valve is closed (to avoid drips); an ordinary socket wrench reattached to the tool; and the oil filter is removed in the customary fashion, less oil streaming down your arm.

The scraper part is to be used as a trowel by a painter. The collar part is used in axially engaging a cylindrical paint roller soaked with paint, to frictionally remove paint from the paint roller as the collar part is displaced from one end to the opposite end of that paint roller. The comb part is used to clean the bristles of a paint brush, by transversely engaging same and lengthwisely sliding or "combing" the bristles to remove paint after the paint job is completed.

Abstract: A combination tool assembly is disclosed having a pentagonal top block detachably fastened to an elongated, pentagonal base through doweled joints, a folding rule pivoted to the top block and received in a side chamber on the base, a cutter and ballpoint pens controlled by slides to move in and out of respective holes on the base, a triangular scale detachably side matched to the top block and the base. The folding rule may be separately used for measuring and arranged with the base into an instrument for drawing circles.

Abstract: A knife sharpening cutting board is disclosed in which a cutting board is provided with a recess along a peripheral edge and with intersecting pairs of knife sharpening disks mounted within the recess and rotatably secured to the cutting board for selective rotation about axes that are substantially parallel to one another and to the surface of the cutting board. The disks overlap one another radially to form an intersection that is adjacent to the top cutting surface of the board, and aligned with a groove formed in the board. The groove extends from the sharpening disks across the board to receive a knife blade as the knife is drawn across the sharpening disks. The recess is provided to receive the disks and to locate the disks within the board for protection and appearance purposes. Screws mounting the disks within the recess are accessible to facilitate disk removal.

Abstract: A hand held fire fighting tool which attaches to a hose, having a handle through which water passes under pressure, having a connected head part which has a sharpened hoe, designed to pierce the ground surrounding burning roots, grass roots and debris when thrust forcefully thereagainst to thereby expose burning embers in fire mop up operations. Fire mop up consists of mixing burning embers with mineral soil, the layer of earth beneath combustible ground cover. The elimination of the mixture of burning embers and combustible material results in the extinguishing of a fire.

Abstract: A universal tool or device for enabling persons with impaired hands to more easily open automobile doors whether they have a fixed type handle or a movable type handle. It is a six inch cylindrical solid member e.g. having at one end an inwardly and downwardly extending slot for use in opening the movable type door handle, and swingable on the body of the device there is a hook having a bight adapted to be placed over the fixed handle and utilizing an end portion of the device for simultaneously impinging upon the usual fixed handle latch opening the door.

Abstract: A multipurpose tool for maintaining hunting arrows is disclosed. The tool is a sharpener capable of sharpening broadheads, a wrench capable of tightening or loosening broadheads screwed onto an arrow, and a dresser capable of dressing the fletched end of an arrow so that the arrow effectively will receive a nock. The tool has an elongated body with integral longitudinal ridges to enhance its appearance and to facilitate gripping, and is preferably molded of ABS plastic in two pieces. The sharpener and wrench are at the bottom, and the dresser is at the top of the tool. The sharpener comprises a shallow channel running diagonally across the face of the bottom, normal to the axis of the tool, with a plurality of small hard rods imbedded in the sides of the groove. Sharpening is effected by movement of the edge of a broadhead along the shallow groove.

Abstract: A hand tool comprising a lever body is disclosed for assisting in connecting and disconnecting multipiece fasteners. The lever body comprises at least one disconnecting end and at least one connecting end opposite the disconnecting end. In a preferred tool embodiment, the disconnecting end is shaped and oriented to disconnect a snap fastener. One portion of the connecting end defines a recess feature shaped and oriented for releasably retaining and capturing a snap fastener piece for connection or disconnection. In another preferred tool embodiment, the connecting end includes an elongated zipper hook and further defines a groove adapted for cooperatively pivotally mounting the hook, and for holding the hook in either an open position for use or in a closed position during nonuse.

Abstract: A hole locator for use by installers of electrical fixtures is disclosed. The locator comprises a tapered shank of light conducting material having means at a first end to pierce a hole in a panel such as a ceiling. The tapered shank wedges in the pierced hole to hold the locator in place. A light source in the second end provides light through the length of the hole locator so the installer can easily find the locator from the opposite side of the panel. An eye or a hook in the first end provides means for pulling a wire or a pull string through the hole when the locator is withdrawn from the pierced hole.

Abstract: A fire extinguishing tool is formed as a paddle plate, including top and bottom planar surfaces coextensive relative to one another, with a handle mounted medially and longitudinally aligned relative to the plate to provide a grasping surface for an individual to direct the plate onto flames by smothering such flames preventing oxygen access to the flame area. A modification of the invention includes a central conduit directed through the plate, with a bottom surface of the plate including a matrix of valves directed therethrough, with the handle defining a pneumatic reservoir for directing an inert gas through the bottom surface upon impacting of flames in a fire extinguishing situation.

Abstract: A writing apparatus comprising a penholder with a ball refill retained therein for writing, and a staple driving mechanism incorporated therein for driving staples through paper as for binding pamphlets. The penholder of the writing apparatus comprises an elongated cartridge received inside an outer cylinder for holding ball refill and staples. The outer cylinder is comprised of two parts pivoted together, wherein the lower part has a matrix matching with the striking plate on the upper part for performing staple driving process. Two plate springs are provided to support the upper and lower parts of the outer cylinder in an opened position. A lock cap is pivoted to the lower part for releasably locking the upper and lower parts together when the staple driving mechanism is not in use.

Abstract: A utility device for a key ring which serves a plurality utilities, including key ring anchorage, bottle cap opener, screw driver, hook and item holder with respect to another object. The utility device has a generally C-shaped structure having a central open space defined by interior walls of a main member, two cross members and two opposed tabs. A hole is provided in the C-shaped structure to permit a key ring (key chain and the like) to be connected thereto. The distance between facing ends of the tabs is preselected to permit the ends to cooperate so that a user can leverably act on a bottle cap to open a capped bottle. One external corner of the C-shaped structure is preferred to be provided with a flat, beveled blade edge to serve as a screwdriver blade. It is further preferred for a portion of the interior walls to have a predetermined contour which servies to assist hooking of the C-shaped structure onto an object.

Abstract: A tire changing assembly includes a foot pedal mechanism connected to a connection assembly that includes a coupling for a vehicle jacking device or to a lug nut device. The foot pedal assembly is operated by stepping onto a foot-engaging element and releasing that element after applying forcing that element down. An operator uses his or her weight to force the pedal down and a spring returns the pedal to a raised orientation. The pedal movement is translated into rotational movement or into reciprocating linear movement so a lug wrench or a jack device can be operated.

Abstract: A device in the form of a ring for wearing on a finger bears a variety of implements including a magnetic pick-up for engaging ferromagnetic objects. It may include other tools such as screwdriver blades, line cutters, prying claws, glass cutters and the like for convenience in having certain useful tools at hand when needed without encumbering the hands of the user. The tools are arranged in a line along the circumference of the device. Also described is a set of magnets arranged in a particular configuration and polarity to unlock a magnetic lock.

Abstract: A tool suitable for breaking loose foreign material wedged between a gate box lid and a gate box and also the foreign material wedged into the recesses on the gate box lid. The tool also may be used to grab hold and lift the gate box lid for removal and replacement of the same. To achieve these functions the tool embodies a slide hammer, a drive nut and chisel and a set of jaws.
