Abstract: A combination tape measurer, pencil sharpener and knife blade sharpener is provided. The pencil and knife blade sharpeners are provided on a separate insert that is fitted onto the tape measurer. This allows each component to be used without interfering with the others. A conventional retractable tape measurer can be modified to produce the resultant combination tool.

Abstract: A stapler comprising a drive member and a staple magazine member. The stapler also comprises a clip driver including upper and lower casings and a connecting band. The connecting band has a staple guide grooves so as to function as an anvil. The clip driver is pivotally connected to the stapler by means of pivot member.

Abstract: A kit arrangement includes an elongate handle, including a first and second section angularly offset relative to one another to enhance access to an interior surface of a lawn mower surface, with a scraping head mounted to the handle, incuding a chisel and serrated scraping edge mounted to a leg of the head spaced from and orthogonally oriented relative thereto. A honing and wire brush are mounted to the head to enhance its effectiveness in a cleaning and sharpening operation relative to a lawn mower.

Abstract: A bicycle tool is provided with a main elongated body section defining oppositely-disposed front and rear flat surfaces, and a oppositely-disposed side edge surfaces. The lower or inner end of the main body section has projecting from the two side edges thereof a pair of concave gripping or mounting members, which together define a clamp-like element for directly mounting the tool to a rod or shaft of a bicycle frame, so that the tool is readily and continually available to the bicycle rider, when needed.

Abstract: A tool primarily for pulling stakes from concrete forms includes a relatively long lever arm and a bore for encircling a metal stake, oriented generally at right angles to the lever arm. In preferred embodiments, the bore has a relatively sharp edge and gripping teeth for positive gripping engagement against the rod to enable twisting of the stake and subsequent lifting of the stake. The tool also includes, in preferred embodiments, a protruding fulcrum end to allow prying the stake up using the stationary wooden form for engagement by the fulcrum point. A further preferred feature is a chisel edge on the fulcrum end, to enable the tool to be used for form stripping. The chisel end may further include an opening configured for nail pulling. Thus, in a preferred embodiment the tool can be used for nail removal from forms, for stake twisting and pulling, for stripping of forms from concrete and also for bending of reinforcing bar to a substantially accurate, consistent bend angle.

Abstract: A device for removing a ring closed and locked by a fastener containing a protruding fastener lock, the device includes a fastener engagement member having a wall and a floor which define a recess adapted to receive the fastener therein. Attached to an outer surface of the fastener engagement member is a lever member adapted to exert force on the fastener when the lever member is moved, thereby breaking the ring locked to the fastener.

Abstract: A combination toilet seat lifter and toilet flusher is disclosed. The combination toilet seat lifter and toilet flusher includes a body portion having a cylindrical shape and further having an open end and a closed end. The body portion contains a longitudinal hollow portion disposed in the open end of the body portion and functioning as a receptacle for the handle flusher. A grip is disposed on the closed end of the body portion and helps to stabilize the combination toilet seat lifter and toilet flusher when in use. A substantially "L"-shaped round tube having a free end and a fixed end. The fixed end is affixed to the body portion and the free end contains a bevel.

Abstract: A fire hose clamp that comprises a U-shaped guide structure for slidably supporting a movable jaw; a manual rotary screw extends from the movable jaw through a nut in the central wall of the U-shaped structure, whereby rotation of the screw moves the jaw along the guide structure. A stationary jaw is arranged in the path of the movable jaw, such that the two jaws exert a squeezing action on a fire hose extending through the jaw space; the hose fabric is flattened to shut off the flow of water through the hose. Preferably the jaws have curved surfaces that tend to iron away any creases or bulges in the hose fabric during the hose-squeezing operation, thereby assuring a more consistent water shut-off action.

Abstract: A compact, pocket-sized dart repair tool having a planar, elongated handle with a pin-like protuberance, a flight lock-opening portion, and a flight lock-closing portion. The flight lock-opening portion has a wedge-like spade. The flight lock-closing portion has a conical socket or other apertures extending through the tool. The tool is useful, via the pin-like protuberance, to tighten or loosen the threaded connection between a shaft of the dart and the barrel of the dart. The tool is useful, via the flight lock-opening portion, to open a flight lock of a dart. The tool is useful, via the flight lock-closing portion, to close the flight lock.

Abstract: A bicycle tool kit which provides a small adjustable open end wrech with an elongated handle to which is affixed a chain link remover for repairing broken links of bicycle chains. The threaded shaft of the chain link remover is adapted for removably retaining a socket and two allen wrenches for adjustment of various hardware components of the bicycle. The jaws of the adjustable open end wrench are also adapted for adjusting the tension of the spokes of the bicycle wheels. The allen wrenches can be assembled onto the head of the adjustable open end wrench and the handle of the link remover in various positions to provide leverage for several repair applications of the device. Useful accessory tool heads are provided which can be gripped in the jaws of the adjustable open end wrench using the handle as a lever. The kit is compact and fits into a pocket sized carrying pouch.

The expanding end is placed in a recess of the interlocking block befor expansion. After expansion, the expanding end of the tool grips the block. It may include other tools such as screwdriver blades, line cutters, prying claws and the like for convenience in having certain useful tools at hand when needed without encumbering the hands of the user.

Abstract: A cranking board for supporting a gasoline powered hand tool during hand cranking. The engine of the hand tool is supported by a bracket arrangement mounted on an engine support portion of the cranking board. The cranking board also has an operator support portion rigidly connected to the ending support portion for supporting the knees of a person who is hand cranking the tool. There is also disclosure of a spill-resistant container mounted on the cranking board.

Abstract: A measuring letter opener having a stamp dispenser which includes a measuring blade with measurement demarkations along both edges thereof and an aperture in the vicinity of a pointed end thereof, and an animal configurated handle containing a stamp dispensing member disposed therein at the other end of the measuring blade, whereby, after inserting a roll of stamps into the stamp dispensing member and grasping the rugged surface of the animal configurated handle, the user can readily open a letter and conveniently use the stamps dispensed from the stamp dispensing member.

Abstract: A portable multifunctional device for motor vehicles which includes a motor driven by an electric power source from the cigarette light socket of a motor vehicle. The motor has a high-speed revolution shaft for being operatively connected to a vacuum cleaner or the like, a low-speed revolution shaft having a reduction gear for being operatively connected to a jack or the like, and a cap for covering at least one shaft.

Abstract: An IC-wafer handling tool comprising an aluminum handle, a detachable polyimid pointed end member and a detachable polyimid hook end member. The pointed end is used in cooperation with a vacuum pick to load wafers into susceptor pockets, and the hooked end is used in cooperation with a vacuum pick to unload wafers. During loading and unloading, the only contact with the front side of the wafer is at the edge of the wafer, which does not contain integrated circuit structure, thereby decreasing particulate contamination of the wafer and the associated IC structure on the wafer.

Abstract: A multipurpose tool particularly suitable for use by woodsmen comprising a blade portion which can be gripped in the hand and used as a hand tool for various purposes such as sawing, cutting, bottle or can opening, and wire stripping. The tool also includes an elongate slotted handle portion which fits between laterally projecting guide members secured to the blade portion so that when the blade and handle portions are attached together, the tool can be used as a hatchet.

Abstract: A knife sheath is provided including a rear side defining an upwardly opening receptacle portion for downwardly receiving therein the blade of a survival knife and a front side defining a pair of side-by-side upwardly opening compartments with one of the compartments having a plurality of aerial flares stored therein and the other compartment defining an aerial flare supporting compartment in which the base end of one of the aerial flares may be removably retentatively supported. The knife sheath defines a firing pin bore disposed immediately beneath and opening upward into the aforementioned other compartment and containing an upwardly spring biased firing pin therein for impact with a center primer portion of the base end of aerial flare retained in position thereabove.

Abstract: A new tool for a purpose of actuating vehicle door, and other, handles, a purpose never before performed by any tool. A type of hook designed to replace one's fingertips as the operative force in opening an automobile door. The preferred embodiment has a hole (4) for attachment of a key ring and keys to serve as a handle. It may have a hinge (10), limited in the degree to which it will open by bumps (12), to make it collapsible and thereby unobstrusive when not in use. It may be made of plastic (FIGS. 8 & 9) or given a plastic or rubber coating (8) over parts that make contact with the vehicle, to prevent marring said vehicle, when the tool is made of metal. This tool is intended to be useful to women who wish to avoid damage to their real or artificial fingernails, or polish on said fingernails. It is also intended to be useful to arthritics or others similarly disabled.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a device designed to be detachably attached to the undercarriage of a lawn mower through the use of hooks engageable with the blades of the lawn mower. The device includes an annulus having a plurality of holes therethrough with a coupling designed to be connectable to a water supply hose. Additionally, a pair of diametrically opposed sharpening stones are rotatably mounted on the device and are automatically rotated through the provision of paddlewheels, each of which is rotated through the provision of water sprayed thereon as supply from two supply conduits. When the hose connection is connected to a hose supplying water to the device and the water begins to flow, water sprays out the openings in the annulus to clean the undercarriage of the lawn mower while water spraying out the supply conduits impinges on the paddlewheels causing the grinding stones to rotate to thereby sharpen the lawn mower blades.

Abstract: A survival tool having a multi-function tool head secured to an elongated hollow shaft. The tool head includes a shovel blade portion with a marginal edge terminating at a rectilinear shoulder portion that is attached to the hollow shaft. An axe blade is formed in one piece with the shovel blade so as to be substantially coextensive with the shoulder portion of the shovel. The cutting edge of the axe blade is substantially continuous with the portion of the marginal edge of this shovel adjacent the shoulder portion. A hammer is formed in one piece with the shovel and axe that has a striking face extending outwardly from the shovel blade adjacent the shoulder portion thereof opposite the cutting edge of the axe. The hollow shaft includes a transverse slot adjacent the tool head which is sized to slidably receive a one-piece bow. An adjustable pressure plate within the hollow shaft engages the central portion of the bow to secure the bow in place.

Abstract: An apparatus for aiding in the mounting of tire chains having a flat base and two upward projecting angle members positioned parallel is disclosed. The angle members have first and second apices respectively positioned relative to one another and the road surface such that an encroaching tire is first engaged across its width by a first apex. The tire is supported on both apices, sized and positioned such that a cross-link of a tire chain positioned therebeneath remains movable, so that a snug and uniform fit of a tire chain is achievable. The apparatus is also useful as a support base for a jack and as a wheel chock.

Abstract: A suture fusing and cutting apparatus having a forcep type instrument with jaws including a cutting edge and a fusing surface. The jaws are heated or otherwise stimulated by energy to sever and fuse plastic suture material when the jaws are closed on the suture.

Abstract: A combination hand tool for removing sheetrock screws or nails from sheetrock or similar structures and for forming a smooth spackle receiving cavity in place of the removed screw or nail. The tool includes a remover or puller portion for applying a force parallel to the longitudinal axis of the screw or nail during removal thereof and has a dimpler for smoothing the impression made by the screw or nail.

Abstract: A roofing tool comprises a trowel blade and a pivotal clamping arm for use in the installation of torch-fused roofing material. A shaft is mounted to a shank which extends from the trowel blade and mounts the trowel handle. The shaft pivotally mounts the clamp arm. The clamp arm is configured so that the forward portion of the arm and the forward tip of the trowel blade cooperate to form a clamp.

Abstract: A portable hand-held apparatus for sharpening fish hooks and stripping lines from a fish spool. The apparatus includes a housing having an inlet port, an exit port and an aperture through which a sharpening mechanism extends. A motor mechanism is mounted within the housing operatively connected to a roller mechanism and the sharpening mechanism. The roller mechanism is aligned with the inlet and exit ports and is arranged to engage the free end of a line, guided through the housing inlet port. The roller mechanism transports the line through the housing and out the exit port, stripping the line off the spool. A sharpening mechanism rotatably projects through the housing aperture to engage a fish hook barb or other object.

Abstract: An improved writing tool consists essentially of a punctuation marking and error designation rubber seal supplemented by a capping furnished with seal stamping paste; two holes within the body, to permit insertion of a pen or a pencil stick, and a ruler; a clip serving to hold sheet of paper as well as pen holder; a cutter attached to the other side of the clip, serving to cut paper into smaller segments or chips as required. Such a tool proves to be advantageous and convenient in terms of utility, serviceability, endurance and convenience of application.

Abstract: In a first embodiment, a pair of cylindrical rods are held in closely spaced parallel relationship by support members mounted in the ends of the rods. The rods have confronting surfaces throughout their length. Pairs of overlapping cutting blades are mounted in the rods and between the confronting surfaces. A container is opened by being inserted between the confronting surfaces and drawn against the blades. When opened, the end of the container opposite the opening is then inserted between the rods and drawn between the confronting surfaces to empty the contents by pressing the opposite sides of the container together. In a second embodiment a flanged slot formed in a flat holder provides the confronting surfaces for emptying the container. Cutting blades mounted in the handle in way of the slot are used to cut the container open.

Abstract: A single tool, especially for use by gas welders, that combines a soapstone marker, a rotary spark igniter and a plurality of torch cleaning wires. The tool is of metal construction, of pencil-like shape, readily manually manipulable, and easily releasably carried in or on the clothing of a mechanic.

Abstract: An attachment for a split ring type of key ring to facilitate separating of an end of the split ring from the remaining portion of the key ring permitting ease of insertion of a key on the key ring. The attachment comprises a sheet material member which is formed into an enlarged body section from which integrally extends a rounded protrusion. A necked down area connects between the protrusion and the body section. The outer end of the protrusion is sharpened. This sharpened outer end is to be inserted between abutting ring shaped members of the key ring and twisted ninety degrees with the key ring then being located within the necked down area which results in the end of the key ring being spaced from the remaining portion of the key ring facilitating locating of the end of the ring shaped member through the opening formed within the bow of a key.

Abstract: A mountaineering implement comprises a handle (1), a toolhead (3) mounted at one end (2) of the handle (1) and at least one tool (4, 5) releasably fixed to the toolhead (3). The toolhead has a slot (8) and the tool has a plate-like appendage (18, 26) slidably inserted and locked within this slot. Two opposing flat faces of the slot each have at least one rib (10) extending parallel to the direction of sliding of the plate-like appendage (18, 26) in the slot and each of these ribs (10) is engaged in a corresponding groove (20, 28) formed in the surface (19, 27) of the plate-like appendage of the tool (4, 5). In a preferred embodiment, the toolhead is constituted by a folded sheet-metal blank and provides for the use of two tools, the plate-like appendages of which engage in opposite ends of the slot and have complementarily-stepped ends (21, 29) which contact each other.

Abstract: A device for starting a ball in a muzzle-loading firearm and for removing arrowheads lodged in trees or the like, where the arrowheads include threaded fingers extending rearwardly for receiving a correspondingly threaded opening in the forward end of an arrow shaft. The arrow shaft is screwable onto and unscrewable from the threaded finger of the arrowhead and when the arrow, with the arrowhead, is shot into a tree, the arrow shaft is simply unscrewed from the arrowhead. The device of the invention includes an elongate shank, one end of which has a threaded opening therein for screwing onto the threaded finger of the arrowhead, a stop disposed at the other end of the shaft, and a weighted sleeve disposed about the shank to slide therealong. After the elongate shank is screwed onto the arrowhead embedded in the tree, the weighted sleeve is repetitively moved against the stop on the shank to force the device away from the tree and thereby extract the arrowhead from its embedded position.

Abstract: A combination tool includes at least two chuck keys, each chuck key being individually borne on the end of a tool shaft or arm. The combination tool can also include other tool instrumentalities such as screwdrivers. Preferably, the tool comprises a pair of perpendicular tool shafts, having four chuck keys of different sizes disposed one each on the four free ends of the two shafts.

Abstract: An improved fuse removing apparatus including an elongated housing, a pair of complementary jaws extending generally longitudinally outwardly from the housing for engagement with a fuse. The complementary jaws are secured within the housing in longitudinal sliding relationship such that a plate at the end of the housing forces the jaws towards each other when the complementary jaws are urged into the housing. A cap disposed over the plate causes the jaws to rotate during use so as to lockingly engage the plate and thereby firmly grip a fuse without having to manually rotate the housing. All that is necessary to lock the device onto the fuse is to simply push the apparatus onto the exposed part of a fuse. A minimum of manual rotation is all that is required to disengage the jaws from the locking plate, and thereby release the retained fuse.

Abstract: An improved fuse removing apparatus including an elongated housing, a pair of complementary jaws extending generally longitudinally outwardly from the housing for engagement with a fuse. The complementary jaws are secured within the housing in longitudinal sliding relationship such that a plate at the end of the housing forces the jaws towards each other when the complementary jaws are urged into the housing. A cap disposed over the plate causes the jaws to rotate during use so as to lockingly engage the plate and thereby firmly grip a fuse without having to manually rotate the housing. All that is necessary to lock the device onto the fuse is to simply push the apparatus onto the exposed part of a fuse. A minimum of manual rotation is all that is required to disengage the jaws from the locking plate, and thereby release the retained fuse.

Abstract: Illustratively, a portion of a thin sheet of high thermal conductivity material is wrapped in tight thermal communication about the external surface of a working fluid conduit. A hinged male die presses part of the portion of the sheet into a semi-cylindrical female mold. The die is removed and the fluid conduit is placed in the semi-cylindrical sheet. Another hinged mold, with the aid of a drawing up mechanism bend the balance of the sheet portion into thermal communication with the hitherto exposed conduit surface. Beveled mold edge also exposes a seam for joining the sheet portion to the balance of the sheet.

Abstract: A kit for permitting the mounting and removal of spiral lock washers to and from an annular washer retaining groove on a tumbler wheel post of a combination lock or the like includes a cylindrical tubular container-tool with an internal chamber for storing a washer removing tool and a washer guide stub.

Abstract: A service tool structure for effecting improved, simplified removal and installation of end fitting gaskets, adjustment of the adjustable valve depressor, and storage of spare gaskets and depressor elements. The tool structure is arranged to provide a partial installation of the gasket in the hose coupling with a first projection portion thereof and a completion of the installation of the gasket therein by a second projection portion thereof. The first projection portion may be further arranged to define structure for effecting adjustment of the valve depressor, the gasket being arranged to fit coaxially about the valve depressor adjusting structure. A threaded third projection portion of the tool structure is arranged to be threaded into the installed gasket so as to provide a sufficiently secure connection thereto to permit withdrawal of the gasket from the hose coupling as in replacement of the gasket.

Abstract: An apparatus for removing a roll of film on a spool from a camera comprising, a top tong arm having a top grip portion and a top handle portion, and a bottom tong arm pivotally mounted to the top tong arm and having a bottom grip portion and a bottom handle portion. The top and bottom grip portions define a film roll engagement mouth which is openable and closable by moving the bottom handle portion against the top handle portion. At least one of the top and bottom grip portions include lateral guide faces for laterally retaining the spool in the film roll engagement mouth. A biasing spring may be positioned between the top and bottom handle portions for urging the top and bottom grip portions toward each other to firmly retain a roll of film within the film roll engagement mouth. A tensioning lever or knob may be provided which may be engaged with the spool when the roll of film and spool are engaged in the film engagement mouth, for rotating the spool and tightening the film thereon.

Abstract: An automobile tool device is disclosed comprising an elongated support element having a beveled edge forward end adapted for removing ice and a jam element attached to the rearward end with the jam element having a plurality of stepped surfaces to engage the operating lever of a gasoline pump handle and hold the lever in an operating position. A second jam element is detachably secured to the support element and is adapted to maintain a spring biased license plate in a position away from the body of an automobile.

Abstract: A breath-actuated inhalation device for dispensing a powdered medicament from a powdered medicament-holding capsule, comprising an elongate housing having a passageway for the movement of air therethrough, one end of the housing being an output end adapted for insertion into a user's mouth or nasal passage, the passageway having an inlet end terminating in an emptying chamber at the output end of said housing, the cross-sectional area of the passageway being less than the cross-sectional area of the emptying chamber, and means associated with said housing for receiving a powdered medicament-holding capsule. A collar surrounds at least a portion of the periphery of the housing adjacent the emptying chamber and has at least one substantially flat surface with a notch therein, which allows a first, smaller part of a two-part capsule to fit therein but which is too small to allow the second, larger part of the capsule to fit therein.

Abstract: A modified locking-type wrench is combined with a disposable syringe and an injector barrel having a tapered tip to provide a mini-injector apparatus for injecting, under pressure, growth regulators and other solutions into the vascular systems of seedlings and branches of relatively small diameter woody plants.
