Publication number: 20020104339Abstract: A substantial disadvantage of known three-point bolt locks is their limited usability. Thus, all known locks are either so-called “handle-operated” locks or “key-operated” locks, i.e. locks in which the latch bolt and/or at least the additional bolts are retracted and extended by means of a handle or a key. An alternative use of known locks for “key operation” or “handle operation” is not possible. The invention relates to a novel multipoint lock bolt which, when installed in a door or in a gate, can be set by relatively simple positioning or adjustment of a functional element either for handle operation or key operation. A further development of the invention envisages providing the lock according to the invention with a two-part follower whose halves are superposed in the axial direction.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 18, 2002Publication date: August 8, 2002Inventor: Roger Saner

Patent number: 5472247Abstract: A locking mechanism which provides a number of resistance points, all of which function to impede the opening of a door located on the chassis of a lottery dispensing machine or any other enclosure that must be secured. The locking mechanism includes a rotating cam which sets the lock in motion. Rotation of the cam is translated into reciprocating motion of a number of bolts which move into a locked position. Once the bolts are in a fully locked position, movement of the door is impeded. If two bolts are used, they face in opposite directions. If more than two bolts are used, they all face in different directions. This makes the lock impossible to jimmy. Further, to successfully pry open the lock would require an effort great enough to cause substantial structural damage to the enclosure itself. A cam extension is also provided which provides extra resistance when the locking mechanism is in a closed position.Type: GrantFiled: July 18, 1994Date of Patent: December 5, 1995Assignee: Interlott, Inc.Inventor: Gavin M. Patent number: 4114933Abstract: The specification describes a lock provided with first locking means, second locking means and rotatable operating means for operating the first and second locking means. The arrangement is such that when the operating means is rotated in one direction from a first position in which the first locking means is in a locking position and the second locking means is in an unlocking position, the first locking means is moved to the unlocking position without disturbing the second locking means. When the operating means is rotated in the opposite direction from the first position, the first locking means remains in the locking position while the second locking means is moved to the locking position.Type: GrantFiled: August 29, 1977Date of Patent: September 19, 1978Inventors: Eliezer Jankelewitz, John Pinhas Benedict

Patent number: 4067212Abstract: A two dead bolt door lock is disclosed wherein the bolts are transversely disposed and wherein the bolts are disposed one behind the other in the locked position so as to provide a secure locking mode. When door mounted, and in the locked position, a vertical bolt is disposed on the inside of the door adjacent the jamb and a horizontal bolt is mounted in the jamb. Attempts to jimmy the horizontal bolt in its line of least resistance are frustrated by the presence of the vertically locked bolt acting against the jimmying force. The locks are both operated by a single key actuated cylinder and/or hand knob through a common connection rod with coordinated cam actions. In another embodiment, keys may be employed on both the inside and the outside of the door.Type: GrantFiled: June 23, 1976Date of Patent: January 10, 1978Inventor: Arthur Vorob
