  • Patent number: 11746563
Abstract: A smart door lock includes a main housing configured to be disposed interior of a standard bore hole of a door. An outer housing is disposed exterior of a secure environment and electrically and mechanically connected to the main housing via conductive prongs. An inner housing is disposed interior of the secure environment. A rotating member is magnetically attached to the inner housing. A deadbolt within a bolt housing transitions between a locked position and an unlocked position in response to the door lock detecting a user device within a wireless communication range, detecting a touch on a sensor of the outer housing, or rotation of the rotating member. The outer housing includes leakage regions to facilitate transmission of wireless signals to the main housing.

  • Patent number: 8952782
Abstract: A door usable for after market installation of remotely actuatable locking systems is provided with a spacer element within its interior. The spacer element includes an orifice sized for accommodating a motor and locking mechanism. A tubular element is also provided through the interior of the door body adjacent to the first orifice, the tubular element being usable to accommodate wiring. A motor disposed within the first orifice can be placed in communication with a power source and/or receiver using wiring extending through the tubular element, while a lock assembly can be installed within the first orifice in operative engagement with the motor. Receipt of a remote signal by the receiver causes actuation of the motor, which then actuates the lock assembly. Use of the spacer and tubular elements enables all primary components of the remotely actuatable locking system to be installed within the interior of the door, after market.

The system comprises a handle, a gear rack driven linearly by rotation of the handle, and a plate removably coupled to the gear rack by a coupling means, wherein the plate moves in a first linear direction in response to handle rotation. When the coupling means is in a first position to couple the plate to the gear rack, a clockwise rotation of the handle displaces the plate in the first linear direction. When the coupling means is in a second position to couple the plate to the gear rack, a counter-clockwise rotation of the handle displaces the plate in the first linear direction. Movement of the plate in the first direction operates the unlocking mechanism.

Abstract: A handle assembly is provided for use on storage compartment doors of a vehicle. The assembly includes inner and outer housings residing on opposite sides of the door. The handle assembly plunger resides on the inside of the door, rather than between the outside and inside door skins. An exterior handle can be grasped from either side for moving the plunger from an extended latched position to a retracted unlatched position for opening the door. An interior egress handle is provided to open the door from inside the compartment, as a safety feature. A key cylinder on the outer housing allows the handle assembly to be locked to preclude accidental or unauthorized opening of the door. The handle assembly allows the door to be opened by electric remote power and to be closed by slam action.
