Abstract: A lockbox includes a body and a lid connected to body and pivotable between a closed position and an open position. The body defines an enclosure and includes a body aperture and the lid includes a first lid aperture positioned adjacent to the body aperture when the lid is in the closed position, such that insertion of a padlock shackle through the body aperture and the lid aperture prevents pivoting movement of the lid from the closed position to the open position. The lockbox includes a slot intersecting one of the body aperture and the lid aperture for insertion of an item into the enclosure when the lid is in the closed position. A padlock shackle inserted through the body aperture and the lid aperture prevents passage of an item through the slot.

Abstract: A personal lock box with a timer comprising a hinged strongbox with an internal cavity that is large enough to contain small personal items therein. The lock box is controlled by an electronic circuit. The lock box further comprises a user interface, a timer, a power source, and associated circuitry. The user interface allows a user to activate the device, selectively program a locked time, and initiate a locked cycle during which time the lockbox cannot be opened. Additionally, the lock box comprises a retractable locking cord for securing the lock box to large items.

Abstract: A rapid-access weapon safe comprising a lock box having a bottom, three sides, and a lower front panel defining an opening adapted to receive a user's hand into a chamber and at least one weapon; a weapon support in the chamber for supporting the weapon's position where a user's hand easily grasp the weapon and for protecting a weapon stored in the chamber; quick-access doors having at least two doors sealing the opening, a lock securing the doors, and a spring adapted to rapidly open the doors when the lock is opened; and a mounting bracket adapted to affix the safe onto a desired location; whereby, the safe can be mounted in a desired location, the safe doors quickly deploy when the user opens the safe, allowing an authorized user quick access to the weapon inside while preventing unauthorized access when the safe is closed and locked.

Abstract: A shelf device comprises an enclosed frame that includes a plurality of members, a concealed compartment within the frame, and a locking system that includes a locking mechanism comprising a slide bolt and magnetic lift positioned perpendicularly within the slide bolt, a ledge that is engaged with the slide bolt when the locking system is locked, and a magnet. The magnetic lift moves in one direction to cause the slide bolt to move perpendicularly to the magnetic lift's direction as the slide bolt disengages or engages with the ledge to unlock or lock the shelf, respectively. In one embodiment, a rare earth magnet is aligned with the magnetic lift to pull the magnetic lift vertically upward causing the slide bolt to move horizontally backward to disengage the slide bolt from the ledge. Consequently, the shelf is opened as one or more frame members are released to expose the concealed compartment.

Abstract: A lockbox for attaching to a surface including a housing, a lid that is selectively coupled to the housing and includes a lid lock that is arranged to selectively maintain the lid coupled to the housing and to inhibit removal therefrom. An anchoring mechanism is positioned at least partially within the housing and is moveable between an engaged position in which the lockbox is attached to the surface and a disengaged position in which the lockbox is removable from the surface. The anchoring mechanism includes an anchoring mechanism lock which inhibits movement between the engaged position and the disengaged position.

Abstract: A lock mechanism is disclosed for a sheet store adapted for the dispensing or accepting of sheets. The sheet store comprises a container having a lid operable for access to the interior of the container and a shutter operable for the passage of sheets therethrough. The lock mechanism comprises: a locking plate movable relative to the container, the locking plate being operable to control a lid lock element and a shutter lock element; and an actuator arranged to control movement of the locking plate. The locking plate is movable between three positions, including: a closed position, in which the shutter lock element prevents opening of the shutter; a primed position, in which the shutter can be opened; and an open position which controls the lid lock element to permit opening of the lid.

Abstract: The present invention relates generally to a firearm storage device adapted to store at least one object, including but not limited to a firearm. A housing of the present invention attaches to a support arm located upon a lower support surface. The housing includes a mounting shell wall and a locking shell wall that pivots away from the mounting shell wall to allow access to the contents of the housing. Inside the housing, a support finger engages the interior of the barrel of a firearm to orient the firearm in a manner that provides a user with access to the grip of the firearm. The housing also locks to prevent unauthorized users from accessing the contents of the housing. The housing also releases from the support arm to allow a user to utilize the housing as a secure device to transport an object.

Abstract: A lock system includes a lock mechanism for holding a lid element in a locked state, an electric actuator for driving the lock mechanism to an unlocking side based on an operation of an open switch, and a key cylinder adapted to be operated to rotate by a key so as to be switched through the rotational operation to an “UNLOCK” position where the open switch is enabled to function and a “LOCK” position where the open switch is disabled from functioning, whereby unlocking of the lid element is prohibited through a rotational operation of the key cylinder to the “LOCK” position. An operating unit of the lock system causes the key cylinder and the lock mechanism to be mechanically linked with each other by a wire cable, whereby the lock mechanism is forcibly driven to the unlocking side through a rotational operation of the key cylinder to the “OPEN” position.

Abstract: A gift box apparatus having a locking mechanism and a programmable timer for selecting a specific date and time for when the gift box apparatus may become unlocked to reveal a gift contained therein is disclosed. In one embodiment, the gift box apparatus includes an integrated compartment that may be automatically released from the gift box apparatus at a preselected time, thereby revealing a key contained therein, which may be used by a recipient of the gift box apparatus to unlock a main compartment of the gift box apparatus and retrieve a gift contained therein.

Abstract: A locking case is provided including a base portion and a lid portion rotatably engaged to the base portion. A locking mechanism is mounted on the lid portion and extends therethrough. The locking mechanism includes a cam member having first and second surfaces, and being rotatable to a locked position in response to operation of the locking mechanism. A catch is mounted to the base portion and is disposed proximate the cam first surface when the cam is in the locked position. A reinforcing bracket is mounted to the lid. The reinforcing bracket has a reinforcing flange disposed proximate the cam second surface when the cam is disposed in the locked position.

Abstract: A parking meter has a vault housing and a vault door removably covering a main opening and having a back facing an interior of the housing. A lock assembly includes a lock cylinder disposed on the door and that has a body and a usually movable portion. A bolting mechanism operatively connects to the movable portion of the lock cylinder for selectively providing a locked position. A support structure is disposed on the interior side of the door and holds the bolting mechanism. A removable retainer engages the body of the lock cylinder, which is usually stationary. This results in the retainer preventing motion of the body sufficient to operate the bolting mechanism. The support structure is configured for releasably maintaining the retainer on the lock cylinder body. The vault housing defines a tool hole providing access to the interior of the housing for insertion of a disengagement tool through the tool hole.

Abstract: A storage unit for storing items has a base with an upstanding sidewall and a lid having a depending sidewall movably coupled to the base. An upwardly open groove is formed in the upstanding sidewall or the depending sidewall and is configured to receive one end of a tether, which can be disposed within an interior of the base or the lid to abut the upstanding sidewall or the depending sidewall. The lid or the base being configured to close at least a portion of the groove to prevent withdrawal of the one end of the tether from the interior of the base or the lid when the lid and the base are moved into the closed position thereof. A method of storing items is also provided.

Abstract: A safety and anti-theft door guard for a server provides an improved door guard opening and closing structure for servers of 1U, 2U and 2U up specifications. The door guard of the invention offers a two-stage turning mechanism to allow hard disk drives retrievable from the server freely with interference, and also has a lock means installable on any type of models to provide theft protection function, thereby to resolve the problem of conventional single shaft door opening that might otherwise impede the retrieval of hard disk drives from the server.

Abstract: A lock for a rural mailbox which enables normal access to the mailbox by a postal delivery person when placing mail in the box and enabling the mailbox door to be closed and locked by the postal delivery person without the use of a key or any other device to protect the mail that is in the box. The postal customer must use a key to open the lock to gain access to the protected mail.

Abstract: A lock for locking closed a housing for an alarm pull station includes a lock cam and a lock cylinder assembly. The lock cylinder assembly includes: a lock actuation cylinder having a keyhole exposed on a front side of the housing and a key actuation socket in registry with the keyhole, and a tumbler plate movable transversely through the lock actuation cylinder and interposed between the keyhole and the socket. The tumbler plate includes a bore which is out of registry with the keyhole and movable into registry with the keyhole by a key pushed into the keyhole. The lock actuation cylinder is rotatable by an Allen wrench key fit into the socket. The lock actuation cylinder is surrounded by a lock body which is fixed to the housing. The tumbler plate is biased to be engaged into a slot in the lock body and is moveable transversely by the key to disengage the lock body. The lock actuation cylinder rotates the lock cam for locking the base plate to the cover.

Abstract: A security device includes a case having at least one through opening. A lid is pivotably connected to the case. The lid pivots between a first open position and a second closed position. The lid has at least one corresponding through opening. In the second closed position, the at least one corresponding through opening in the lid aligns with the at least one through opening in the case. A latch is slidably engaged with the lid. The latch is slidable along a first axis between a first latch position and a second latch position. A locking plate is slidably engaged with the lid. The locking plate is slidable along a second axis between a first locking plate position and a second locking plate position. The locking plate has at least one pin extending along the second axis. In the first locking plate position, the at least one pin extends through the aligned at least one opening in the case and the at least one opening in the lid to lock the lid in the second closed position.

Abstract: An outdoor water faucet article is configured to secure a building water faucet from unauthorized use. The article is lockable, yet is readily unlocked to access the water faucet. The article comprises a first housing half, a complementary second housing half and locking mechanism. The first and second housing halves are hingeably connected. Together they form an enclosure for the water faucet and can be secured together by the locking mechanism to prevent access to the water faucet. Upon unlocking, the second housing half is rotated away from the first housing half to allow full access to the water faucet so that its handle can be turned and a garden hose attached to its terminus. A wall mounting mechanism is optionally used to attach at least one housing half to a wall of the building where used. Insulation can be used to line the interior walls of the housing halves to add a freeze protection feature to the article.

Abstract: A lock-down security box including a security box and a lock-down plate. The lock-down security box is adapted to be detachably anchored to a mounting surface such as a table, wall or the like. The lock-down plate is fixed to a mounting surface by inserting fasteners through apertures extending through the plate. The lock-down plate includes a first anchoring member and a bolt-receiving slot extending therethrough. The security box includes a top panel which is pivotally mounted to one of the side panels of the box. The top panel includes a first lock set associated therewith for providing controlled access to the enclosure of the security box. The bottom panel of the security box includes a second anchoring member mounted thereon. The bottom panel further includes a bolt-passage slot extending therethrough which is adapted to receive a deadbolt of a second lock set mounted to one of the side panels of the box.

Abstract: A gun lockbox resistant to forced entry includes a guard member formed to an inside edge of a housing half, and one or more locks in an opposing housing half which engage the guard member, for securing the housing halves together and preventing insertion of a prying tool therebetween. The gun lockbox may additionally include clip members to attach the lockbox to a stationary object within a transport vehicle or to a wall, the clip members preferably consisting of complementary brackets with the attachment hardware being located inside the lockbox, to prevent easy theft of the lockbox outright. The gun lockbox or case may further be configured to facilitate aligning and positioning to the stationary object, through raised portions on the exterior surface of one of the housings. Also, the gun lockbox may be constructed from a conventional case.

Abstract: Two embodiments are shown for protecting the pedestal of a public payphone against vandalism. Both employ a stainless steel plate. Both also employ techniques for protecting the stainless steel plate against vandalism. In one, a U-shaped structure and bar is utilized. In the other, internal bars and a cam control are employed.

Abstract: A single-door security rural mailbox having a front closure that can be accessed by the rural mail carrier and the owner of the mailbox from the same opening. The mailbox has a key operated locking mechanism for locking the closure. The owner of the mailbox locks and sets the closure in a set position allowing the mail carrier to open the closure once. The mail carrier then closes the closure with sufficient force so that the locking mechanism passes the set position and engages in a locked position. Thereafter, the closure can only be unlocked by the owner with a key who then sets the lock and closure for the next mail delivery where again the mail carrier can open and then shut the closure.

Abstract: The invention is an interlocking lockout device for a computer system. The lockout device comprises a locking disk dimensioned similarly to a floppy disk for so that it can be inserted and locked into a disk-drive. An engagement member of the locking disk interlocks with a bezel. In a locked position, the bezel covers the disk-drive preventing the locking disk from being removed from the disk-drive and preventing foreign matter from being inserted into the computer and disk-drive. While inserted, the locking disk keeps the computer system from booting and thereby prevents unauthorized operation of the computer system. The bezel and locking disk are adaptable on any size disk-drive and can easily be installed on different systems. This provides a lockout capability for computer systems with multiple drives and variable sized disks.

Abstract: A lock for electrical power meter boxes has a solid rod with a flared head to engage spring steel blades to lock it. The lock has a spring loaded sleeve within a housing, which can be permanently mounted either inside or outside a meter box. The spring loaded sleeve is maneuverable by an unlocking tool to open and release the spring sheet blades from the locked position.

Abstract: A security device for closing systems for vehicles and containers comprising a base plate fastened to the chassis of the vehicle holding a hinging shaft and one of two essential elements of a lock, i.e., the catch or sliding bolt; and a closing arm, one end of which hinges on the base plate by means of said shaft, the other end holding the other element of the lock. The plate and the arm form a parallelpipedal flat space when the device is in a closed position, which serves to house and lock the lower bent ends of the closing shaft of the vehicle door.

Abstract: Provided is an apparatus for use for a pivotally mounted door disposed in a wall and usually mounted within a door frame. Pivotal mounting of the door is on a hinge. The security apparatus is mounted to a door frame or wall above the door by any suitable technique and is comprised principally of two main body portions in the form of a fixed clamshell and a pivoting clamshell connected by a piano hinge. These clamshell portions enclose a few operative portions of the structure including a locking mechanism preferably comprised of a pivoting key operated lock, a pivoting lock dog, a lock dog lip and a door strike plate. The fixed clamshell is attached to the wall or door frame top by apparatus that may include large size screws or bolts, or the device may be welded thereto as desired. The attaching means is contained within the clamshell enclosure to prevent tampering therewith. The clamshell portions are formed of plates and ends to totally enclose at all times operative portions of the apparatus.

Abstract: A locking device for attaching to a rod extending from a merchandizing display. The locking device comprises a block having an elongate slot formed therein. The slot has end openings at the ends of the block and an elongate side opening along one side of the block, whereby the elongate portion of a rod on the merchandizing display can be received longitudinally within the slot through the side opening in the side of the block. Cover means are provided for covering and closing the side opening of the slot in the one side of the block, whereby when the rod is received in the slot, the block can slide back and forth along the rod but cannot be removed from the bent end of the rod. A locking mechanism is also provided for releasable locking the cover in place covering and closing the opening of the slot.

Abstract: The present invention comprises a safe for providing an enclosure housing for video films or the like, the safe being lockable to a doorknob. The safe has a back panel and a front panel which define the housing. The back panel is disposable over a doorknob, and a front cover is hingedly swingable onto said front panel and said back panel to lock them together, and to lock the safe containing the video films or like products onto the doorknob.

Abstract: Locks securely close a commercial electric power meter box at the front of the meter box where it is visible by a meter reader. One version of the lock readily indicates unauthorized entry into the meter box by extending the seal to the front of the box. Another version of the lock requires a special tool to remove the lock in addition to extending the seal to the front of the box. Yet another version of the lock is equipped with a fully enclosed and protected cylinder lock, which cannot be opened without a special tool and a key even if the seal is broken. All of the locks can be easily installed on existing commercial meter box installations.

Abstract: A security cover and housing for closing, securing and protecting a well and more particularly a well pipe. The well cover and housing comprises an open cylindrical main housing with an outwardly projecting flange that is designed to support the cylindrical housing within the well opening. A well pipe retainer insert fits within the cylindrical housing and generally surrounds and supports an upwardly projecting well pipe. A locking plate is adapted to be secured over the well pipe retainer and the well pipe. A top plate is adapted to fit onto the cylindrical opening of the main housing structure about the top portion thereof to form a closed flat upper surface.

Abstract: A lock mechanism is provided with a housing having a closable flap pivoted thereon. The flap carries a key releasable lock cylinder equipped with locking elements and a locking bolt slidable under the action of a return spring. The locking bolt comprises a shoulder cooperating with a stud mounted on a cam plate which pivots to bring the bolt into the open position against the action of the return spring, whereby the bolt is disengaged from a fixed abutment. The cylinder and cam plate can occupy a locking position (v) in which the locking elements are resiliently urged into a locked position within locking grooves formed in the closable flap so that the stud locks the bolt. When the cylinder and cam plate are moved to a second position (F) angularly displaced from the locking position (v) the stud frees the locking bolt so that the bolt can move for the purpose of locking or unlocking the flap whether or not the key is present in the lock mechanism.

Abstract: A locking electrical outlet box is positioned over one or a pair of electrical wall outlets having a conventional apertured face plate secured to the wall. The box includes an apertured bottom wall for registry with the wall outlets with the face plate removed and for fastening the box upon the wall and the face plate applied to the bottom all. The box includes a cover hinged thereon with an apertured latch bar and one or a pair of outwardly opening slots adapted to receive an electric cord from an appliance terminating in a plug. A key lock is anchored upon the box and includes a rotatable latch registerable with the latch bar.

Abstract: A lock for a motorcycle saddle bag container includes a key operated plug attached to a lock housing mounted on the inside wall of the container. The plug operates a pivotal and transversely movable shutter. The shutter, in turn, cooperates with a strike attached to the inside of the lid for the container. A rubber seal maintains the shutter and strike in a locked position until the lid is manually depressed to compress the seal and release the shutter from the strike.

Abstract: A security cover is provided for the lock boxes of vending machine doors and the like wherein a bracket is mounted around the keyway and a closure is hinged to the bracket such that it will swing shut defining an enclosure and can be locked in this closed position with a lock that is accessible only from within the enclosure, there being an opening in the enclosure, preferably through the closure member, permitting access to this locking means to free the closure, thereby providing access to the door lock.
