  • Patent number: 12054964
Abstract: A latch (10) is usable to selectively hold a closure member such as a door (188) in a closed position. The latch includes a body (12) which has a manually engageable handle (18) on a front side thereof. A shank (30) is in rotationally movable connection with the handle. The shank extends through the body and into an indexing cam bore (58) on the back side of the body. The shank is both axially and rotationally movable about a cam bore axis (62). An indexing cam (88) is connected to the shank. The shank is in operative connection with a striker (102). The striker is rotationally movable responsive to rotation of the handle between a latched position and unlatched position when the shank is in a second axial position. When the shank is in a first axial position, the shank is held in a fixed rotational position by the indexing cam, and the striker is held in the latched position. A cam bolt (164) is movably engageable with the striker to hold the striker in the latched position.

  • Patent number: 7921685
Abstract: A latch assembly for releasably securing a closure element with a striker element in a closed position. The latch assembly consists of first and second latch elements mounted to a housing for movement relative to each other and the housing, with the first latch element being movable relative to the housing between a latched position and a release position, and cooperating structure on the release lever for moving the second latch element relative to the housing and, in response thereto, causing the first latch element to move from its latched position to its release position. A guard plate is positioned between the housing and the first latch element to more securely retain the striker element and prevent tampering or theft.

  • Patent number: 7861563
Abstract: A dual locking system having a manual lock and an electrical lock, and a shuttle connected to both the manual lock and the electrical lock. The shuttle is moveable by either the manual lock or electrical lock between an engaged position in which a hook on the shuttle can engage a prong and a disengaged position in which the hook does not engage a prong. Upon de-energization of the electrical lock, the shuttle remains in the engaged position if the shuttle was in the engaged position prior to de-energization and the shuttle remains in the unengaged position if the shuttle were in the unengaged position prior to de-energization. The dual locking system is incorporated in a latch.

  • Patent number: 7819440
Abstract: A system for releasably maintaining a movable closure element in a predetermined position relative to a support therefor. The latch assembly is changed from a latched state into an unlatched state as an incident of the first actuator assembly being changed from a normal state into a release state. The first actuator assembly has a first handle that is repositionable relative to a base assembly between first and second positions. The first actuator assembly is in the normal state with the first handle in the first position and the release state with the first handle in the second position. The lock assembly cooperates with the first actuating assembly and in a locked state prevents the first handle from being changed from the first position into the second position. The lock assembly has a motor that is actuatable to change the lock assembly between the locked and unlocked states.

Abstract: An electric steering lock for a motorcycle includes a housing, a transmission assembly, a spindle, a set of sensors and a circuit board. The transmission assembly has an actuator, a first gear, a second gear and a sliding block each arranged within the housing in transmissive engagement with each other. The spindle is assembled with the sliding block and acts in the housing. A primary control chip of the motorcycle controls the circuit board to make the transmission assembly to drive the spindle to move accordingly. The circuit board determines that the spindle is locked and reaches a predetermined position if the sliding block presses the front sensor, and the circuit board determined that the spindle is unlocked and reaches a predetermined position if the sliding block presses the rear sensor.

  • Patent number: 7748245
Abstract: A latch assembly for releasably securing a first member in a closed position relative to a second member is disclosed. The latch assembly includes a frame, a rotary pawl, a locking member, a handle, and a lock plug. The frame is adapted for attachment to the first member. The handle is pivotally attached to the frame and is movable between a closed position and an open position. The locking member retains the pawl in the latched position when the locking member is in an undeflected configuration. The handle causes the locking member to deflect and release the pawl from a latched position when the locking member is in an unlocked position and the handle is moved to the open position. The lock barrel is supported by the frame and can selectively move the locking member to a locked position where the locking member cannot be actuated by the handle.
