Housings Patents (Class 70/448)
  • Patent number: 11795742
Abstract: Disclosed are apparatus and corresponding and/or associated methodology for door barricade systems which may be activated from inside an enclosure (or room) while still maintaining controlled serviceability or access to the enclosure from outside of the enclosure. Per some embodiments, bolts passed through a doorframe as a retrofit feature may support an interior plate which has a channel or passage for receipt of a manually removable door block member. The bolts are secured by an exterior plate and custom nuts which have customized drive surfaces. Corresponding custom drive head features interface with the custom nuts for either installation or removal of the door barricade system, even if the door block member is in place. Corresponding hole features on the custom nuts match with custom drive head pin features to provide an effective keyed entrance, which is hardened against forced entry if a person outside the secured room does not have the appropriate custom drive head.

Abstract: A hatch lock cover includes inner and outer flanges, with a keeper and a handle positioned between the flanges. The handle is rotatable with respect to the flanges to move a batten bar contacting surface into and out of engagement with a batten bar or a hatch cover tab of a hatch cover. A downwardly extending portion of an arm of the keeper may define an aperture and/or include a projection for securing an adjustment plate or extension piece to the arm to provide an alternative batten bar contacting surface. Alternatively, a mounting bracket may be provided to secure the hatch cover lock to a railcar, with the mounting bracket accommodating the hatch cover lock in different positions having different elevations. Such configurations allow the hatch cover lock to be adjusted for use with a batten bar or hatch cover tab having a gasket that has become worn out.

  • Patent number: 6240754
Abstract: This vehicle security device (40) is a metal plate (38) bolted to a door handle unit inside a vehicle door to prevent unauthorized unlocking of a vehicle door by jamming a thin tool into a vehicle door. And, device (40) prevents unauthorized unlocking of a vehicle door by inserting a thin tool between the seam between the window glass and the flexible molding around a door window frame of a vehicle door. When installed, the device (40) blocks access to the inner end of a lock cylinder (10) by preventing the insertion of thin tools directly to the inner end of the lock cylinder (10). This device (40) is comprised of a configured metal plate (38), angled on its upper end to extend horizontally toward the inside of a vehicle door; one or more bolts (43); one or more spacers (42); and one or more lock washers (41). The metal plate (38) has a rectangular-shaped cut out (45) to accommodate placement adjacent to the key-turnable inner end of a door lock cylinder (10).

  • Patent number: 5755121
Abstract: A lock in which a key can neither be turned nor removed with the lock is open, is disclosed. The lock body is formed from two identical sections, the inner surface of each being provided with formations which accommodate the moving parts of the lock. The lock cylinder is provided with a plug which is operatively engaged to an extension. The lock shackle is engaged by a lock bearing which is held in place by the extension. Turning the key turns the plug and thus, the extension. This disengages the lock shackle as the lock bearing is no longer held in place. After it has been retracted, the contour of the lock shackle abuts the lock bearing, causing it to engage the extension, thus preventing the extension, the plug and the key from being turned.

  • Patent number: 5722269
Abstract: A locking device is used for doors of cabinets or cupboards and, more parularly, for doors of modular cupboard systems. In order to create an operationally reliable, inexpensive locking device which is suitable for narrow counterstops and which permits an installation independently of the fixing side, as well as an inexpensive conversion when the fixing side is changed, the locking device is given a bipartite construction with a handle positioned in the vicinity of a door plate and a bolt mechanism operable by a tumbler. The device has a first door plate area receiving the handle and a second door plate area. A locking movement, initiated by the handle, is subject to a deflection, preferably of approximately 90.degree., in the direction of a counterstop and a closed or open position of at least one locking element in a cabinet or cupboard-side receptacle is obtained.

  • Patent number: 5676002
Abstract: Unlocking of a vehicle door by insertion of implements other than the door key into the door is prevented by a guard housing within the door into which the key turnable inner end of the lock cylinder extends and which also encloses an otherwise vulnerable portion of the linkage which interconnects the lock cylinder and the door latching means. In a preferred form of the invention, the housing has an extension which extends below the lock cylinder and which is angled to extend to the outer shell of the door and then downward along the inner surface of the shell and which extends between the shell and the side impact beam of the door. The guard may secured in place by the same bolt that secures the handle assembly to the door and is wholly within and concealed by the door.

  • Patent number: 5564294
Abstract: A musical door lock comprises a generally rectangular housing having enclosed therein door lock, an electric door bell and a battery chamber. When a push-button on the outer periphery is pressed to actuate a sound generator inside the housing, the combined electric door bell will release a musical melody or the sound of bird chirps inside the door. A second example provides a frequency regulator instead of a sound generator incorporated with a movable wireless door bell that offers more convenience to the house owners. In addition an anti-burglar device combine with the lock mechanism for releasing a warning signal which may be received by a portable radio receiver. This disclosure is characteristically providing an economical utility of space in a door lock as well as its variety of functions.

One of the cylinders 22 and 24 fits in complementary fashion into one of a pair holes 14 and 12, respectively, to preclude any movement in a radially lateral direction of adaptor 16 relative to the axis of the hole. The other one of cylinders 22 and 24 fits, respectively, into a groove 44 formed in a face 42 of a guard collar 18 or into a cylindrical opening 36 of the collar.
