Patent number: 8182004Abstract: An operating mechanism unit includes a motor, a worm wheel being rotated by the motor, a sector gear meshing with a pinion provided on one side of the worm wheel and rotating to an unlocking position and a locking position, switch levers connected to the sector gear and shifting to an unlocking position where engagement with a meshing mechanism is releasable and a locking position where the engagement cannot be released, and a key sub-lever pivotally supported on the same pivot on which the sector gear pivots. The key sub-lever is rotatable from a neutral position in an unlocking direction and a locking direction in synchronism with operation of a key cylinder so as to rotate the sector gear to the unlocking position by rotating in the unlocking direction and to rotate the sector gear in the locking direction by rotating in the locking direction.Type: GrantFiled: December 19, 2008Date of Patent: May 22, 2012Assignee: Mitsui Kinzoku Act CorporationInventor: Yuji Yoda

Patent number: 7748245Abstract: A latch assembly for releasably securing a first member in a closed position relative to a second member is disclosed. The latch assembly includes a frame, a rotary pawl, a locking member, a handle, and a lock plug. The frame is adapted for attachment to the first member. The handle is pivotally attached to the frame and is movable between a closed position and an open position. The locking member retains the pawl in the latched position when the locking member is in an undeflected configuration. The handle causes the locking member to deflect and release the pawl from a latched position when the locking member is in an unlocked position and the handle is moved to the open position. The lock barrel is supported by the frame and can selectively move the locking member to a locked position where the locking member cannot be actuated by the handle.Type: GrantFiled: September 16, 2005Date of Patent: July 6, 2010Assignee: Southco, Inc.Inventors: Richard Horton, Jason Lieu

Patent number: 7493786Abstract: MAC (Media Access Control) for an EPON (Ethernet Passive Optical Network system) defined in an IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) 802.3ah EFM (Ethernet in the First Mile) standard is implemented using general MAC based on an IEEE 802.3 standard. LLID (Logical Link ID) information is inserted at a predetermined position of a frame outside its preamble and the frame containing the LLID information is transferred to a higher layer so that general MAC can be used as MAC for the EPON system. A physical layer of the EPON system contains LLID information within a preamble and transfers the preamble containing the LLID information. An RS (Reconciliation Sublayer) configures a new Ethernet frame by inserting the LLID information at a predetermined position of the Ethernet frame outside the preamble. The RS transfers the new Ethernet frame to a higher data link layer of the EPON system. The data link layer transfers the new Ethernet frame containing the LLID information.Type: GrantFiled: October 21, 2003Date of Patent: February 24, 2009Assignee: Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd.Inventors: Jin-Hee Kim, Do-Young Joung, Whan-Jin Sung, Soon-Ho Jang, Min-Hyo Lee, Shin-Hee Won, Tae-Sung Park, Young-Seok Kim

Patent number: 6606889Abstract: A lever latch, for releasably latching a door to a corresponding door frame, includes a housing having a handle pivotally mounted therein and rotatable between opened and closed positions. In the handle closed position, a bolt mounted to the handle engages the door frame, and in the handle opened position, the bolt is disengaged from the door frame. The housing includes a trigger pivotally mounted therein, and pivotable between a first position to retain the handle in the closed position and a second position to release the handle to the opened position. A pawl is rotatably mounted to a lock cylinder on the housing and rotatable between locked and unlocked positions to allow the trigger to pivot to the second position and to prevent the trigger from being pivoted to the second position, respectively.Type: GrantFiled: May 29, 2002Date of Patent: August 19, 2003Assignee: Fastec Industrial Corp.Inventor: Timothy Tweedy

Publication number: 20020124612Abstract: A lock, particularly well suited for use with a safe which includes a movable door latch mechanism having a lock bolt abutment surface. The lock has a casing having a bolt-receiving aperture in one of its walls. The casing is to be mounted to the door, for example, on the inside surface of the door with the bolt-receiving aperture adjacent the bolt-abutment surface of the door latch mechanism. A bolt is slidably mounted in the casing for movement at an angle relative to the bolt abutment surface of the door latch mechanism between a locked position projecting through the aperture in the casing and into abutment with the abutment surface of the door latch mechanism and an unlocked position out of abutment with the abutment surface of the door latch mechanism and retracted into the casing.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 8, 2001Publication date: September 12, 2002Applicant: Mas-Hamilton Group, Inc.Inventor: Walter Evans

Patent number: 5588318Abstract: A door lock, particularly well suited for use with a safe which includes a movable door latch mechanism having a lock bolt abutment surface. The door lock comprises a casing having a locking bolt-receiving aperture in one of its walls. The casing is to be mounted to the door, for example, on the inside surface of the door with the bolt-receiving aperture adjacent the bolt-abutment surface of the door latch mechanism. A locking bolt is longitudinally slidably mounted with the casing for movement at an acute angle relative to the bolt abutment surface of the door latch mechanism between a locked position projecting through the aperture in the casing and into abutment with the abutment surface of the door latch mechanism and an unlocked position out of abutment with the abutment surface of the door latch mechanism and retracted into the casing.Type: GrantFiled: July 23, 1992Date of Patent: December 31, 1996Assignee: FireKing International, Inc.Inventor: Shelby M. Patent number: 4741190Abstract: A lockset for a door comprising a latchbolt assembly including a bolt movable between a fully extended deadbolt locked position, and a retracted position. A spindle extends through the latch assembly in a direction transverse of the direction of movement of the bolt. Rotation of the spindle results in the bolt moving between its positions. The lockset further includes an operating assembly comprising a hand operator having a lock therein, a first plate mounted for linear movement in a direction transverse of the axis of the spindle, an actuating member connected to the hand operator for moving the first plate, a second plate having linear movement transverse to the axis of the spindle and adapted to be moved by the first plate, and rotatable drive member attached to the spindle and adapted to be rotated by the second plate. The second plate is movable between bolt retracted, and fully extended positions.Type: GrantFiled: October 3, 1986Date of Patent: May 3, 1988Assignee: Emhart Industries, Inc.Inventor: Theodore H. Patent number: 4736970Abstract: A latch bar is connected to the plunger of a solenoid and is movable endwise to release an exterior knob spindle to enable the spindle to actuate a latch bolt retractor. A latch carried by the latch bar is held by the retractor to maintain the latch bar open until the retractor is later actuated by the spindle, thereby enabling a single electric pulse to effect release of the lock bar.Type: GrantFiled: March 9, 1987Date of Patent: April 12, 1988Inventors: Thomas K.
