Interengageable Slide Fastener Type Patents (Class 70/68)
  • Patent number: 6637078
Abstract: It relates to a slider for slider fastener with locking device where a sheet-like spring having a locking pawl at one end is fixed at the other end on a body. A bent portion of a spring portion of the fixed spring is exposed at a guide post, and a pull is mounted between the body and the spring so as to be raised or laid. A cam is provided on a lower face of an axle of the pull, and the axle slides on an inclined guide portion on the body. When the pull is laid forward of the body, a gap is formed between an edge of a through hole of a grip portion of the pull and the bent portion of the spring. Even if a load is applied to the pull in the horizontal direction or the vertical direction, this gap prevents the spring from plastic deformation, so that the spring is never plastically deformed under any use condition, thereby ensuring an excellent locking function.

Abstract: A zipper locking device comprises a zipper, a zipper slider, and a locking member. The zipper slider and the locking member each have loops formed thereon. The locking member is attached to an article adjacent an end of the zipper and is configured such that one of the loops can be passed at least partially through the other of the loops in a manner such that a lock can then be used to secure the loops together. With the loops secured together, the zipper slider becomes locked to the locking member and the zipper cannot be opened.

The closure member is attached at one end to a puller and the puller is attached to the slider. In a preferred embodiment the closure member can pivot about the housing and block withdrawal of the slider from the housing in its closed position.

According to the preferable embodiment, this apparatus comprises a pair of sliders, which are provided with a pair of ring-projections respectively, and a pair of engaging members as a blocking member for supporting and ensuring the interlocking of the ring-projections. Then, a pair of studs are provided at the engaging members respectively. When the sliders arranged reversely are moved forwardly to be contacted with each other for closing the slide fastener, the ring-projections are interlocked so that the eyes of the both ring-projections are overlapped. Next, each stud is pushed into the overlapped eyes from each side and engaged to another stud in the eyes so as not to be removed and not to be pulled out. Therefore, the release of the slide fastener caused by the movement of the slider is surely blocked.

Abstract: A flexible-walled security container has an opening provided with a fastener slidable along edges of the opening and a locking mechanism to releasably retain the slider in a position closing the container. The locking mechanism includes a body supporting a receiver with a recess in an upper surface thereof to receive the slider and a retainer closable on the received slider. Lugs at one end of the recess prevent slide removal of the slider. Gaps are formed along the upper surface between the lugs and a supporting wall of the body. A clip is provided to snap onto the receiver. Arms of the clip cover the gaps between the lugs and the supporting wall of the body. The clip is configured to conform closely to the receiver so as not to protrude discernably into the container.

  • Patent number: 4974432
Abstract: A combination lock for use on a zipper comprises a first shell and a second shell fastened together to form a lock housing. A ring is disposed on the second shell for connecting the lock to the zipper. A pushing block is slidably disposed on the second shell and has a pressed position and a released position. A spring biases the pushing block outwardly to keep it in the releasing position. A two gear assembly is rotatably disposed on the second shell and each has a breach on its edge, and a numbering wheel assembly is rotatably disposed between the first shell and each gear assembly for controlling the rotation of the gear assembly. Protrusions are disposed on the pushing block for engaging with each breach when the pushing means is in the pressed position. A hook is disposed on the pushing block for locking the lock to a ring affixed to a piece of luggage when the ring is inserted into an opening in the second shell.

Abstract: A key holder includes a holding strap composed of a row of coupling elements attached to a flexible core cord, each of the coupling element having a coupling head which is symmetric in shape about a longitudinal axis of said coupling element, an end stop mounted across opposite ends of the holding strap for connecting them while keeping the holding strap bent into a closed loop with the respective coupling heads of the coupling elements directed inwardly of the looped holding strap, and a slider slidably mounted on and movable along opposed ones of the coupling elements for taking them into and out of interdigitating engagement. With this construction, the loop of the holding strap can be adjusted by moving the slider to such an extent as to meet the user's desire or to conform to the number of keys to be held on the key holder.

Abstract: Double lockable sliders comprise a pair of first and second sliders reciprocatively mounted on the slide fastener and disposed reversely to each other. When the second pull tab is turned flat against the first pull tab, the engaging projection provided at the distal end and on one surface of the second pull tab comes into the recess formed in one surface of the first pull tab, and the prong provided at one end of the latch member resiliently comes into locking engagement with the indentation formed in one side of the engaging projection. • Patent number: 4856306
Abstract: A double zipper lock for a luggage case comprises a base with a housing containing a combination lock, and a U-shaped loop adapted to embrace the housing. Arms of the loop are pivotally mounted on opposite ends of the housing and a bight portion of the loop cooperates with portions of the base to form chambers that, when closed, trap zipper sliders. When the combination lock is set on-combination, the user may lift the loop, to free the sliders, by engaging the bight portion with the fingers of a hand and using the thumb to press a manual actuator inwardly of the housing. The actuator is part of a bolt that is supported for pivotal and translational movement. The translational movement, which is permitted only when the lock is on-combination, causes pivotal movement of a latch member from a latching position to an unlatching position. In the latching position, the latch member prevents lifting of the loop.

  • Patent number: 4821539
Abstract: An improved keeper lock for a zipper-type slide fastener. The lock includes a barrel assembly of a tubular barrel and an anvil fixed to and projecting readily from the barrel, the anvil adapted to receive the slide fastener when the fastener is moved to its closed position. A key operated lock assembly is telescopically and rotatably received in the barrel for limited axial sliding movement. A keeper arm is fixed to and projects radially from the lock assembly adjacent to a proximal end of it and the lock assembly and keeper arm are capable of both angular rotation and axial movement so that it may assume a fully telescoped locked position with the keeper arm closely overlying the anvil for confining the slide fastener between the keeper arm and the anvil. It may also assume an unlocked position wherein the keeper arm overlies the anvil and is spaced apart therefrom.
