Patent number: 11168495Abstract: A vent stop includes: a housing; a tumbler; a biasing member having a first portion secured to the tumbler and a second portion in movable contact with a housing track, to selectively bias the tumbler. Movement of the second portion along the track is coordinated with sequential pivoting of the tumbler between extended, retracted, partially extended, and intermediate positions. In the extended position, a tumbler bearing surface limits opening of the sash member. When toggled from the extended position to the retracted position and subsequently released, outward bias of the tumbler is limited to the partially extended position by contact of the second portion with a track recess. Subsequent contact of the sash member with the deflection surface causes pivoting from the partially extended to the intermediate position, permitting unrestricted sash member opening, release of the second portion from the contact point, and biasing back toward the extended position.Type: GrantFiled: August 1, 2018Date of Patent: November 9, 2021Assignee: Vision Industries Group, Inc.Inventors: Luke Liang, David Chen

Patent number: 8844985Abstract: An improved forced entry resistant sash lock comprises a housing, a shaft rotatably mounted thereto, a locking cam and a delay cam rotatably and fixedly mounted to the shaft, respectively, and a locking spring. The delay cam selectively engages and drives the locking cam between a locked position and an unlocked position. Locking spring biasing causes engagement with a locking earn opening to lock the cam when in the latch-locked position, with engagement to a depth permitting releasable detent engagement in a delay cam recess. Selective engagement and driving of the locking cam comprises a first portion of delay cam rotation being without driven locking cam rotation, and a second portion causing driven locking cam rotation from a retracted position into a protruding position. Selective engagement is by contact between corresponding protrusions on the delay and locking cams. Shaft/delay cam counter-rotation to unlock the latch proceeds in a reverse manner.Type: GrantFiled: October 28, 2011Date of Patent: September 30, 2014Assignee: Vision Industries Group, Inc.Inventors: Luke Liang, Tong Liang, David Chen

Patent number: 7946054Abstract: An assembly which is a composite including an end shield and a front wall. The size and shape of the end shield are adapted to the inner face of the front wall. Both parts are dimensioned and formed in such a way that they can be interconnected in a fixed manner to form a stable composite resembling a sandwich assembly. The joint surfaces between the front wall and the end shield lie on perpendicular planes and extend for some distance. The construction and connection of the individual parts and of the composite give the front region of the tumble dryer a high degree of rigidity, which obviates the need for additional reinforcement measures. The assembly thus saves material and mounting costs and resources.Type: GrantFiled: January 26, 2006Date of Patent: May 24, 2011Assignee: BSH Bosch und Siemens Hausgeraete GmbHInventors: Lothar Dittmer, Holger Löffler

Patent number: 7676990Abstract: A sliding window having a pair of sashes with a latch mechanism on the meeting rail of one of the sashes for latching the sashes together. To open the window, the latch mechanism is disengaged by grasping a finger grip on a latch handle to retract a latch bolt. As one or more of the sashes is slid to open the window and the latch mechanism clears the meeting rail of the other sash, a trigger cam rotates so that a portion extends outward from the latch mechanism and another portion releases a spring tab to engage and hold the latch bolt in the retracted position. When the window is closed, the outwardly extending portion of the trigger cam contacts the meeting rail of the other sash, causing the trigger cam to rotate in the opposite direction and releasing the latch bolt.Type: GrantFiled: February 28, 2007Date of Patent: March 16, 2010Assignee: Truth Hardware CorporationInventors: William Bestler, Clark Velzke, Teressa Dickison

Patent number: 4953372Abstract: Very simple, inexpensive keyless window sash combination code lock has a pivotable cover plate for preventing an intruder from unscrewing the conventional screws for mounting the lock to the sashes. Three combination code dials are slip coupled to associated rotatable pins which pass through the cover plate and an apertured anchor plate. The pins have lugs positioned under the anchor plate to prevent the lock from being opened. When the lugs are positioned within the anchor plate upon installation, the user rotates the dials to create his own custom combination code. The cover plate is then lowered, the dials are rotated and the lock is locked. The code dials are press fitted about the cylindrical locking pins to save manufacturing costs, and the manual sensing of the correct positioning of the code dials by an intruder, to open the lock, is prevented by providing radial dummy recesses in the lower surface of the anchor plate about each locking pin.Type: GrantFiled: September 22, 1988Date of Patent: September 4, 1990Inventors: Walter C. Patent number: 4061370Abstract: A window latch and handle assembly exhibiting an attractive appearance while providing a high degree of strength and small size. The assembly employs a pair of body members which are secured to a door or window frame and a unitary handle and latch. The handle extends from one side of the assembly of the two body parts and the latch from the opposite side thereof. A lock member with an elongated arm surface engages a key slot in the handle and latch. When in one orientation, the locking member allows the handle and latch to move laterally against the resistance of return spring and when turned 90.degree., effectively prevents movement of the handle and latch by direct broad area contact with one of the body parts. When rotated 90.degree., the lock member rests in the key slot allowing limited movement of the handle and latch to release the door or window.Type: GrantFiled: February 26, 1976Date of Patent: December 6, 1977Assignee: Reflectolite Products Inc.Inventor: Peter Fritz Hauber
