  • Patent number: 11795733
Abstract: A knob-less horizontal-shift fire door lock includes a base including a longitudinal bar, an unlocked-state positioning member arranged in the longitudinal bar and having a positioning section; a latch pivoted to the base and having a free end elastically biased outside the base to engage a keeper on a door jamb; a push board pivoted in the base; and a handle bar slidably mounted on the longitudinal bar. The handle bar is biased by an elastic element to protrude outwards and moving a guide pin to slide in a guide groove of the positioning section. The handle bar is depressible toward the longitudinal bar to move the push board to drive the latch to retract into the base to achieve an unlocked state. The handle bar is further shiftable horizontally to cause the guide pin to slide into a horizontal groove of the positioning section for being secured in position.

  • Patent number: 11598123
Abstract: A center slide assembly for a multi-point exit device. Upper and lower spool assemblies may be displaced from first positions to second positions along an inner region of a center slide. The displacement of the spool assemblies may displace upper and lower pull cables so as to retract latch mechanisms from extended positions to retracted positions. A first latching pin may be displaced, along with the displacement of the upper spool assembly, along an abutment surface of a tilting link so as to pivotally displace the tilting link from an unlocked position to a locked position. Displacement of the lower spool assembly may displace a second latching pin to a position wherein the second latching pin may be received and retained within a jog of the tilting link when the tilting link is in the locked position, which may thereby retain the associated latch mechanism in the retracted position.

  • Patent number: 8978305
Abstract: A retractor element includes a rigid slide connected between a latch bolt and a solenoid plunger for movement between a first position and a second position, the slide operably connected to plunger. A pivoting link defines a slot having an inner end portion extending transversely, the slot configured for pivoting the link when the slide moves between the first position and the second position of the slide. When the retracting mechanism is energized the plunger retracts causing movement of the slide to the second position of slide and the pin to enter the transverse end of the slot in the link. A bearing surface intersects the path of movement of the pin such that significantly less current is required for retaining the plunger in the retracted position than to retract the plunger for blocking the return of the latch bolt to the projected position.

  • Patent number: 7832778
Abstract: A touch bar (24) exit device (20) comprises a retractor element (50) disposed in the housing (22) for substantially restilinear movement. The retractor element (50) connects the touch bar (24) and the latch bolt (82) such that the retractor element (50) and the latch bolt (82) are moved toward the retracted position in response to movement of the touch bar (24). An electrically energizable locking mechanism (104) in the exit device (20) includes a reciprocating plunger (106) moving transverse to the retractor element (50). When energized, the locking mechanism (104) is operative to move the plunger (106) to the projected locking position to prevent retraction of the latch bolt. A time delay circuit is connected to the locking mechanism (104). A switch (120) actuated in response to movement of the touch bar (24) is connected to the time delay circuit for starting a predetermined time interval for temporarily delaying deenergization of the locking mechanism (104).

Abstract: A latchbolt configured for use with a door lock assembly. The door lock assembly is configured for interaction with a strike coupled to a door frame, and operable to place the latchbolt in a locked configuration using the strike to generally prevent rotation of the door and an unlocked configuration to allow rotation of the door. The latchbolt includes a first member and a second member movably coupled to the first member. When the latchbolt is in the locked configuration the second member is movable relative to the first member from a first position to a second position in response to a predetermined force applied to the door.

Abstract: A latch device (30) for a door lock includes a latch (38) pivotable between an extended, locking position and a retracted, unlocking position upon operation of a linking rod (37). A liming block (36) is coupled with the linking rod (37) and movable between a locking position not allowing direct pivotal movement of the latch (38) from the extended position to the retracted position and an unlocking position allowing pivotal movement of the latch (38) from the extended position to the retracted position. When the door is closed, the locking member (36) is moved by gravitational force to a locking position. Movement of the linking rod (37) in an unlatching position through an idle travel moves the locking member (36) from the locking position to the unlocking position without moving the latch (38). Further movement of the linking rod (37) in the unlatching position causes pivotal movement of the latch (38) from the extended position to the retracted position.
