Projecting Or Extending Bolt Patents (Class 70/99)
  • Patent number: 11473352
Abstract: A multipoint door lock system comprises a door frame having a bolt opening and a secondary opening. A latch takes an activable position when the door is opened and a pre-armed position when the door is closed. A door-locking tip of the latch protrudes from the secondary opening of the door frame and into a secondary bore of the door when the door is closed. A transfer block moves from an inactive position to an active position upon insertion the deadbolt in the bolt opening. A biasing element causes a displacement of a translating member when the transfer block moves to the active position in the absence of a force sufficient to cause a compression of the biasing element. This action of the translating member locks the latch in its pre-armed position within the secondary bore.

  • Patent number: 9003843
Abstract: Disclosed in one aspect is the fixed door pull handle assembly that includes an elongated door pull handle with two or more support standoffs projecting away from the elongated door pull handle and securing the elongated door pull handle to the doorframe or to the body of the door. One of the support standoffs is user rotatable, and rotatably engages a door latch assembly within the door. In another aspect, the support standoff is not user rotatable. Instead, a center-pivoting handle is mounted in-line with one of the support standoffs and rotatably engages the door latch assembly within the door. The center-pivoting handle is recessed within the elongated handle.

  • Patent number: 8973416
Abstract: A lock includes a bolt having latching and unlatching positions, and a locking component having a locking position in which the bolt is prevented from moving from the latching position to the unlatching position, and an unlocking position in which the locking component does not prevent the bolt from moving. A lock cylinder includes a cam having unlocking and deadlocking positions. A deadlocking component has a disengaging position in which the deadlocking component does not prevent the locking component from moving from its locking position to its unlocking position; and when the locking component is in its locking position, an engaging position in which the deadlocking component prevents the locking component from moving. When the cam is in its unlocking position, the locking component is in its unlocking position and a deadlocking component is in its disengaging position, and conversely when the cylinder cam is in its deadlocking position.

  • Patent number: 5499517
Abstract: A new and improved rolling gate stopping and locking system comprising a steel pole having a first end, a second end, and an intermediate extent therebetween. The steel pole has an aperture drilled therethrough upwardly of the first end. The steel pole is positionable within an aperture drilled through a stationary portion of a rolling gate. Included in the system is a rubber head having a flat upper surface and a contoured lower surface. The rubber head is secured to the second end of the steel pole. The second end of the steel pole extends upwardly through the contoured lower surface. The contoured lower surface corresponds with the stationary portion of the rolling gate to prevent the rolling gate from advancing thereby opening the rolling gate. A padlock is securable to the aperture drilled through the steel pole. The padlock serves to lock the steel pole to the rolling gate.

  • Patent number: 5018373
Abstract: A lock for a sliding door includes front and rear housing members that clamp front and rear faces of a door panel adjacent an opening that is formed through the door panel. Aligned cavities in the front and rear housing members cooperate with the opening to provide a compartment that mounts a latch bolt member for forward and rearward movement. The latch bolt member has a rearwardly extending formation that projects through a hole formed in the rear housing member for selectively engaging structure located behind the door to releasably latch the door in its closed position. An operating mechanism connects with the latch bolt member and includes components that extend forwardly and rearwardly through aligned openings formed through the front and rear housing members to enable the latch bolt member to be moved forwardly and rearwardly between unlatched and latched positions, and to releasably retain the latch bolt member its unlatched and latched positions.

Abstract: The lock assembly of the present invention is mounted in a lock frame. A slide member is disposed for translation within the lock frame. A lock bolt is pivotally mounted within the lock frame and extends through it for engagement with a door keeper in a door frame. A lock bolt detent is pivotally mounted to the slide member for maintaining the lock bolt in a secure position when the door is closed. Actuation of movement of the slide member results in movement of the lock bolt detent away from the lock bolt followed by pivotal motion of the lock bolt as a pin on the slide member engages the lock bolt and lifts clear of the door keeper. The door is sprung open by a spring loaded plunger which extends out of the lock frame.
