  • Publication number: 20020082735
Abstract: A system and method for remote monitoring of material storage levels for dry bulk goods, wherein an independent entity, such as a transportation carrier, can continuously monitor raw material supply levels at a remote manufacturing plant, and, based on projected usage rates, place timely orders on behalf of the plant, with preselected vendors, to replenish depleted raw materials. The transportation carrier can then coordinate material shipments from the vendor to the manufacturing site using its own trucks. In this manner, the task of maintaining sufficient on site raw material storage levels is completely removed from the manufacturing plant.

  • Patent number: 6385504
Abstract: A mailing list is created including destination addresses for mailpieces to be submitted to a carrier service for delivery. A unique mailpiece identifier associated with mailpieces on the mailing list is generated by the carrier or other trusted third party. The unique mailpiece identifier is printed on the mailpiece with which it is associated. The -mailpieces with the printed unique identifier are submitted to the carrier service. The carrier service obtains the printed unique identifier from the mailpiece. The obtained unique identifier from each said mailpiece is utilized to verify that data associated with the mailpiece has been processed by the carrier or trusted third party. When the unique number has been obtained from the mailpieces, the carrier service, if desired, may note this fact in the carrier records to prevent reuse of the unique identifier.

  • Patent number: 6360132
Abstract: An apparatus, method and medium is provided for increasing the efficiency with which wafers are transferred among different processing chambers in a wafer processing facility. A multi-slot cooling chamber allows multiple wafers to be cooled while other wafers are subjected to processing steps in other chambers. Each wafer in the processing sequence is assigned a priority level depending on its processing stage, and this priority level is used to sequence the movement of wafers between chambers. A look-ahead feature prevents low-priority wafer transfers from occurring if such transfers would occur just prior to the scheduling of a high-priority wafer transfer.

  • Patent number: 6349238
Abstract: A system and method for managing the workflow for processing Service Orders among a variety of organizations within a telecommunications company. The system and method coordinates all of the tasks and activities related to order processing among the various entities within the telecommunications company. Workflows are used to model business procedures used for processing Service Orders. Each workflow comprises a plurality of workflow steps. Business process models are depicted as workflow diagrams. Upon receipt of a Service Order, an appropriate Work Plan is selected based on information within the Service Order. Each workflow step is assigned a Resource and is scheduled for completion. The Workflow steps are then placed in In-boxes associated with the selected Resource. Once the processing steps have been scheduled, a current work step is calculated. Notification messages are sent to the appropriate systems to notify them to begin activity associated with the current work step.

  • Patent number: 6230068
Abstract: A visualizing method for the working condition of the semiconductor's manufacturing machines is disclosed. Firstly, the datas of different stages in a processing line are collected from the key-stage report of the processing line. The datas are “MAIN”, “MRUN”, “AFTER” and “PRE”, meaning the working condition of the stage. Every stage has a group of data. Specified stage-pairs in the processing line are determined. These pairs are photolithography and etching, photolithography and implanting and others. The data of each stage-pair is sequentially put in a bar chart. Then the pairs are sequentially arranged in the order of the processing line. One pair has a supplied stage and a requested stage. From the bar chart, supervisors of the processing line know the condition and the priority of every pair, and the relationship between the supplied stage and requested stage.

  • Patent number: 6195590
Abstract: A control system for the manufacture of a product. A network of activities is created in a primary computer and a baseline schedule is determined. The baseline schedule dates are transmitted to a plurality of secondary computers. The secondary computers monitor external elements used in the activities and predict constraints using delta values. Delta values are a direct estimate of the impact on the final completion date. This allows potential effects to be evaluated in parallel. Resources are redistributed based on the delta values to minimize time and cost.
