Abstract: An integrated power control device and method are provided. In one embodiment, a device includes a body, a plurality of sockets for connection with a load, and a plurality of switch-controls each connected with corresponding one of the sockets and controlling power connecting to the load. The device further includes a microprocessor for the input, output, calculation and control of data and information flow, wherein the microprocessor issues commands to the switch-controls to execute switch on or off on the sockets, a timer, and a data storage unit for data storage so as to provide the microprocessor to access the data. A voltage-and-current detector detects voltage and current values and stores them into the data storage through the microprocessor. A voltage-current alerting unit receives the voltage values and current values and informs the microprocessor when the values exceed predetermined thresholds. Finally, a power computational unit calculates power consumption of the load.

That cycle budget is allocated to days of the year identified as days on which the greatest savings can be realized through load shifting. These days are identified by taking into account the peak and off-peak usage rates applicable on those days, any rate tiers that may be entered as a result of the additional energy expended to load shift, and the round trip efficiency of the charge/discharge cycles. Load shifting is executed in accordance with an established schedule of the identified days, by discharging the batteries during peak usage hours and charging the batteries during off-peak periods.

Abstract: A control unit is attached to or embedded within a refrigeration appliance to monitor electric power voltage and/or frequency supplied by the mains. If the unit detects a sag or peak in either the voltage or frequency, the control unit either separates any high demand elements of the appliance from the mains to reduce demand in a sag or energizes the elements in a peak. When the control system separates the refrigeration compressor from the mains, a food spoilage monitoring system monitors the food storage compartments. This system utilizes food industry temperature and time algorithms to ensure the food does not spoil. If food spoilage could occur, the unit re-energizes the compressor to allow it to lower the temperature provided the power is sufficient to operate the compressor unit without damaging it. Once the sensed temperature is restored to a safe level, the unit separates the compressor from the mains.

Abstract: The house hold appliances, such as refrigerators and freezers are usually turned on all day (24/7) long. They consume electricity throughout day and night. The flow of electricity through these appliances can be controlled for a finite period of time so that the food or other stored products are not going to be spoiled. The consumption of electricity can be reduced significantly by using a programmable timer or time switch. The programmable timer or time switch can be plugged into the wall and the power chord of the refrigerator or freezer can be plugged into the timer. The timer or time switch can be built-in to the appliances. The refrigerator or freezer with a built-in timer will control the flow of electricity by deliberately shutting of the power for a fixed period of time.

Abstract: An efficient solar powered irrigation controller system is disclosed with methods for implementing and operating the system. In a solar powered irrigation system, an irrigation controller is configured to deliver a predetermined alternating current voltage to a plurality of solenoid valves for activating the valves. A photovoltaic system is electrically coupled to the irrigation controller and supplies the predetermined alternating current voltage, rather than 110 VAC line voltage, thereby eliminating the necessity for step-down transformer in the controller. The scheduling of the watering duration in the irrigation cycles is predicated on the amount of solar radiation received at the site, in conjunction with the solar cells in the photovoltaic system, thereby lowering the power consumption of the controller and the plurality of solenoid valves corresponding with solar radiation received at the solar cells.
