  • Patent number: 10116141
Abstract: This invention concerns a method and apparatus for coordinating energy distribution over a local energy network having at least one generator and a plurality of systems requiring an energy supply for operation, each system in the local network being connected to the at least one generator and/or another system in the network for distribution of energy there-between. An agent for each respective one of the generator and systems has a data store, a data processor and a data transmitter and receiver for transmission and receipt of data communication with one or more of the other agents. The data processor of each agent is programmed to recognize a predetermined communication sequence having a plurality of ordered data communication steps required to initiate supply of energy between the generator or system of said agent and the generator or system associated with another agent. Each communication sequence is assigned a future time period for which the energy supply is to be enacted.

Abstract: An electric power grid control system is provided with: distributed generators connected to an electric power grid; and voltage measurement units that measure voltage at connection points of the distributed generators to the electric power grid. When voltage at a connection point to the electric power grid deviates from a predetermined acceptable range, a centralized control device equally allocates a voltage adjustment amount for returning the voltage to the acceptable range to all distributed generators belonging to a predetermined group that was set in advance. Distribution processing devices cause the distributed generators to adjust voltage at the connection points in accordance with the voltage adjustment amount allocated from the centralized control device.

Abstract: A plurality of controllers, each coupled to a plurality of outlets, compare values assigned to characteristic parameters or “process variables” against at least one control value on the process variable. The values for the process variables are derived from at least one signal provided to corresponding controllers. At least one of the outlets at each controller is configured to selectively provide an electrical voltage from an input voltage in accordance with the comparison of the process variable values and the control value. Remotely accessible controls may be stored at the controllers which may be retrieved through respective network interfaces at the controllers. A remote processor may use the retrieved controls to remotely specify, such as over a communication network, the control values.

Abstract: A smart grid management system and method where aggregators do not need to have knowledge about the topology of the electricity grid, the physical location of the end-points they control, or the congestion level of the grid. Instead, the smart grid system and method provides maximum freedom of operation to the aggregators to balance electricity supply and demand in such a way that the danger is reduced or it is even impossible for the aggregators to endanger voltage levels at the distribution system operator (DSO) level or the capacity levels at the transmission system operator (TSO) level. The distribution system operator is allowed to block, interrupt, or change the communication between aggregator and device based on a dual stage-gate control.

  • Patent number: 9423852
Abstract: According to an embodiment, a power control device includes a storage unit, a monitor, a determining unit, and a controller. The storage device stores a look-up table, which includes relationship between needed power consumptions and start-up conditions of an electronic device including a plurality of modules. The start-up condition of the electronic device is determined from the needed power consumption in the look-up table and specifies a power on/off status of the modules in the electronic device. The monitor monitors a voltage or available power supplied by a power source when the electronic device is activated. The determining unit determines a start-up condition corresponding to needed power consumption, which corresponds to the voltage or available power monitored by the monitor, with reference to the table. The controller sets a start-up condition of the electronic device to start up the electronic device in the start-up condition determined by the determining unit.
