Abstract: Examples involve calibration of a playback device including multiple audio transducers. An example implementation involves forming a particular playback configuration that configures the multiple audio transducers to form two or more channels and receiving a command to initiate calibration of the particular playback configuration. The calibration includes emitting a calibration sound according to a sequence that involves the calibration sound cycling through frequencies of a calibration frequency range. Based on the command, the playback device emits the calibration sound contemporaneously via the two or more channels. Emission of the calibration sound by each channel is staggered such that each emitted calibration sound is delayed relative to a preceding emitted calibration sound.

Abstract: An electronic device, method, and computer program product provide smart audio path routing to a remote audio system. A controller of an electronic device determines whether a configuration setting indicates that primary audio content is to be transmitted to a remote audio system. In response to the configuration setting indicating the primary audio is to be transmitted to the remote audio system, the controller transmits test audio content to the remote audio system. The controller listens, via a microphone of the electronic device, for the test audio content within audio output from the remote audio system. In response to not detecting the test audio content from the remote audio system, the controller enables playing of the primary audio content on speaker(s) of the electronic device. In response to detecting the test audio content, the controller transmits the primary audio content to be outputted by the remote audio system.

  • Patent number: 10621067
Abstract: An execution circuit is configured to input data units, perform unit operations on the data units, and register results of the unit operations in response to oscillations of a clock signal. A control circuit controls activation and deactivation of the unit operations. A debug circuit inputs, in parallel with input of the data units to the execution circuit, at least one of the data unit or one or more attributes associated with the data unit. The debug circuit evaluates, upon each input of the at least one of the data unit or the one or more attributes, a breakpoint condition based on the at least one of the data unit or the one or more attributes while the clock signal oscillates. In response to evaluation of the breakpoint condition indicating a break, the debug circuit stops oscillations of the clock signal to the execution circuit.

Abstract: A system is described for maintaining synchrony of operations among a plurality of devices that have independent clocking arrangements. The system includes a task distribution device that distributes tasks to a synchrony group comprising a plurality of devices that are to perform the tasks distributed by the task distribution device in synchrony. The task distribution device distributes each task to the members of the synchrony group over a network. Each task is associated with a time stamp that indicates a time, relative to a clock maintained by the task distribution device, at which the members of the synchrony group are to execute the task.

  • Patent number: 10613821
Abstract: A machine is configured to identify a media file that, when played to a user, is likely to modify an emotional or physical state of the user to or towards a target emotional or physical state. The machine accesses play counts that quantify playbacks of media files for the user. The playbacks may be locally performed or detected by the machine from ambient sound. The machine accesses arousal scores of the media files and determines a distribution of the play counts over the arousal scores. The machine uses one or more relative maxima in the distribution in selecting a target arousal score for the user based on contextual data that describes an activity of the user. The machine selects one or more media files based on the target arousal score. The machine may then cause the selected media file to be played to the user.

Abstract: A flexible multi-channel diversity wireless audio receiver system for routing, processing, and combining multiple radio frequency (RF) signals containing audio signals received on respective antennas is provided. The wireless audio receiver system provides flexible routing of multiple RF signals in different selectable modes, and low latency uninterrupted reception of signals in harsh RF environments by combining multiple RF signals to maximize signal-to-noise ratio. The audio output may be generated in an uninterrupted fashion and mitigate multipath fading, interference, and asymmetrical noise issues. Received RF signals may also be cascaded by the wireless audio receiver system to allow daisy chaining.

  • Patent number: 10609105
Abstract: In accordance with an embodiment, described herein is a system and method for streaming music on mobile devices, including those which may have limited support for streaming. In response to receiving a request for portions of media content to be retrieved from a media server and played at a media device, selected parts of a media content file (e.g., an MP3 file) can be downloaded from a media server, and prepended, appended, or otherwise adjusted into a complete (albeit relatively shorter) media content, which is decoded and sent, for example to an audio speaker at the media device. The approach provides flexibility in providing access to a media streaming service from non-native mobile device applications, for example by enabling a media application to load and play encrypted MP3 file content in environments such as mobile browsers that require low memory consumption, or do not support Media Source Extensions.

  • Patent number: 10606879
Abstract: Example methods and systems for indexing fingerprints are described. Fingerprints may be made up of sub-fingerprints, each of which corresponds to a frame of the media, which is a smaller unit of time than the fingerprint. In some example embodiments, multiple passes are performed. For example, a first pass may be performed that compares the sub-fingerprints of the query fingerprint with every thirty-second sub-fingerprint of the reference material to identify likely matches. In this example, a second pass is performed that compares the sub-fingerprints of the query fingerprint with every fourth sub-fingerprint of the likely matches to provide a greater degree of confidence. A third pass may be performed that uses every sub-fingerprint of the most likely matches, to help distinguish between similar references or to identify with greater precision the timing of the match. Each of these passes is amenable to parallelization.

Abstract: A method of determining an audio delay and a corresponding device are provided. The first audio data and second audio data are obtained. A first sub-fingerprint sequence of the first audio data and a second sub-fingerprint sequence of the second audio data is extracted. The first sub-fingerprint sequence includes at least one first sub-fingerprint and the second sub-fingerprint sequence includes at least one second sub-fingerprint. Processing circuitry determines similarity coefficients corresponding to similarities between the first sub-fingerprint sequence and the second sub-fingerprint sequence. The processing circuitry determines a matching level between the first sub-fingerprint sequence and the second sub-fingerprint sequence according to the similarity coefficients. The processing circuitry determines, according to the matching level, a delay of the second audio data relative to the first audio data.
