  • Patent number: 10667081
Abstract: A computer system tracks geographical locations traversed by a user to provide location based services. One or more geographical locations traversed by a user are tracked via a portable location device. Geo-fencing areas corresponding to the one or more geographical areas are determined. One or more geo-fencing area profile scores are generated for the user based on attributes of the traversal of the geo-fencing areas. Re-location of the user to a new geographic location is detected via the portable location device. Location-based services are provided for the new geographic location based on at least one geo-fencing area profile score of the user. Embodiments of the present invention further include a method and program product for tracking geographical locations traversed by a user to provide location based services in substantially the same manner described above.

Abstract: Users of a social networking system perform actions on various objects maintained by the social networking system. Some of these actions may indicate that the user has a negative sentiment for an object. To make use of this negative sentiment when providing content to the user, when the social networking system determines a user performs an action on an object, the social networking system identifies topics associated with the object and associates the negative sentiment with one or more of the topics. This association between one or more topics and negative sentiment may be used to decrease the likelihood that the social networking system presents content associated with a topic that is associated with a negative sentiment of the user.

  • Patent number: 10353894
Abstract: A computer implemented method and a subpopulation size estimation and uncertainty quantification system (SE system) for estimating size of a target subpopulation size and quantifying size estimation uncertainty are provided. The SE system constructs an entity database including unique entities mapped to contacts retrieved from a contact database. The SE system receives a query defining target attributes of entities of the target subpopulation from a user device. The SE system estimates size of the target subpopulation delimited by the query by determining a first estimate of the size of the target subpopulation matching the target attributes by performing a mark and recapture estimation, and by determining a second estimate of the size of the target subpopulation matching the target attributes by performing a catch per unit effort estimation.

  • Patent number: 10319023
Abstract: A domain name registrar may create a customizable universal purchase path for all customers purchasing a given product. The registrar may create and store modular cross sell components that each has material for at least one product offered for sale by the registrar. Thereafter, the registrar may receive a request for a product from a customer. The registrar may determine a probability the customer will complete the purchase if shown upgrades and/or additional products. If the probability is low (or lower than a predefined threshold) the registrar may complete the purchase before displaying additional upgrades and/or additional products to the customer. This will maximize the conversion rate. Alternatively, if the probability is high (or higher than a predefined threshold) the registrar may create final page markups using the modular cross sell components and collected content and display the final page markups to the customer before completing the purchase with the customer.
