In one embodiment, a device stores schedule information having one or more time intervals associated with recurring events. A record is generated using the device, including one or more audio, text, video, image, or other digital media. After the record is generated, a storage location for the record is determined based on when the record was created. A creation time of the record is compared to the time intervals in the schedule information until a matching time interval is found. The matching time interval has an associated directory into which the record is stored. The directory stores other records associated with the recurring event. All records for the recurring event are readily available by accessing the directory. New records are automatically stored based on the schedule information. No time is spent storing, sorting, or organizing new records.
