Abstract: This disclosure describes, in part, an environment that allows users to simplify the process of preparing, managing and submitting filings to various receiving entities. Generally, the environment provides an overall service that allows users and/or companies the ability manage, prepare, submit and view filings to various receiving entities. In some implementations, the process of preparing filings is greatly simplified through the automatic collection of information about the company and its personnel that may then be verified and used to prepare the filings. In addition, the environment maintains the information to generate additional filings, rather than having to create each filing independently.

Abstract: A mobile application for use in facilitating environmental credits has been developed for individual as well as corporate and municipality use. The downloadable application can be used to track a user's carbon footprint and possible reductions in carbon use through purchasing green products and other methods of carbon savings. The closed loop feature allows the user to return the carbon credits to the manufacturer of the green product. Although carbon credits are used in the examples, the invention can be used for any type of environmental credit or reduction in monitored substance. Also, the invention is flexible in its application and can be used to track carbon savings for event travel. The use of the mobile application is unlimited in geographic reach.

Abstract: A method of estimating the soil organic carbon (SOC) stocks for a grassland based on the plant-derived SOC plus the dung-derived SOC minus the carbon lost through microbial maintenance respiration. The plant-derived SOC, dung-derived SOC, and microbial maintenance respiration are estimated by considering the effect of one or more of the lignin and cellulose content of the plant material, the estimated annual aboveground and belowground plant production, the grazing intensity, the number of fires per year, the mean annual rainfall, the belowground net primary production, and the soil texture. The method thus provides an allowance of plants to compensate for grazing without losing leaf area, and the diversion of carbon through grazing animals and into soil through the deposit of dung.
