Abstract: A protocol for anonymous access to a database where the different records have different access control permissions is described. The permissions can be attributes, roles or rights that an authorized user needs to have to access the record. The database provider does not learn which record the user accesses and which attributes or roles the user has when she accesses the database. The database provider publishes the encrypted database where each record is encrypted with a key that is derived from at least the index of the record, its access control attributes and a secret key of the database provider. The user obtains a credential from an issuer for each access control attribute (ACL) that is associated with the user. Then the user retrieves the key for a particular record from the database provider and uses this key to decrypt the encrypted record.

Abstract: Systems and methods of testing and certifying a package for transport to a customer and use by a customer, and of correcting packaging failures due to transport and use in the field. A package such as, for example, a bulk composite constructed package for shipping welding material product, is tested according to a selected testing protocol. The test results are analyzed and packaging attributes of the package are transformed based on the analyzed test results if the tested package fails any aspect of the testing protocol. Packaging attributes that may be transformed include packaging component design, packaging markings, packaging handling instructions, packaging component manufacturing procedures, packaging component testing procedures, and packaging assembly procedures. The system and method may determine, from a database containing information related to a firearm transfer, whether the firearm transfer needs a response from an electronic background check system. The system and method queries the electronic background check system for the response and receives the response from the electronic background check system. The system and method further generates a command to update the database with the received response. System and method may also include communicating information related to a firearm transaction to an electronic background check system that contains background check information. The information can be related to a transferee of the firearm transfer.

Abstract: The system and method herein disclosed is an online tool for reaching regulatory compliance. It uses a database of requirements by device, country, and agency necessary for licensing and marketing. Further databases include the compliance documents themselves, provided by given users concerning given devices. Still further databases include lists of domain experts, who may be called upon to review and edit these compliance documents. Expert systems running on a server associated with the system and method herein disclosed guide the user along the route to reaching compliance by means of aiding classification, prompting for missing documents, suggesting workarounds, submitting documents and payments automatically, and the like. Abstract: A method of verifying the factual significance of electronic documents includes an online application where an original electronic document can be submitted through a first subscriber account. An electronic voucher with protective codes and a unique registration number are generated for the submitted original electronic document. The electronic voucher provides supplemental data regarding the original electronic document. Then the electronic voucher and the protective codes are stored in multiple preferred servers where the multiple preferred servers are selected through a server selection process. A second subscriber, who wishes to check the authenticity of a copy of the original electronic document, can submit the copy with the unique registration number. The application software then generates control codes for the copy where the control codes are compared with the protective codes for the authenticity. The result is displayed to the second subscriber through a test result report.

The customer information is stored in a database and associated with a serial number. When an identity of the customer is authenticated at a location of the vendor, information describing the vendor and a firearm entered into a second form is received from a vendor terminal. The information describing the vendor and the firearm is stored in the database and associated with the serial number. A background check request is transmitted to a governmental agency. The background check includes at least a portion of the customer information. The hand-held device includes at least one processor to determine a machine-readable identification code from the product identification indicia; send the identification code to at least one remote server; receive, from the at least one remote server, agricultural certification information that is associated with the product, the certification information being associated with the product using the machine-readable identification code; and display the certification information on the display in human readable form.
