  • Patent number: 12058176
Abstract: A connection-based service impersonates request-based security for requests from clients that do not include credentials for the requests (e.g., data plane requests made via a connection-oriented security). A connection between a client and a connection-based service is established based on connection credentials that are based on security credentials from a request-based security service. The credentials are sent by a security component of the service to a local agent of the remote security service to be authenticated by the security service. An impersonation token is returned by the security service and cached by the local agent. Requests from the client to perform operations do not include credentials. For each request, the service passes an identifier for the client and the operation to a local authorization component that calls the agent for authorization of the requested operation. The agent uses the impersonation token to obtain authorization for the requested operation.

  • Patent number: 12046908
Abstract: A controller for a DC microgrid and associated renewable energy source, RES, units. The DC microgrid comprises energy storage, ES, units and consumer units that are interconnected by a DC distribution network. The DC microgrid is connected to an AC grid to allow power to flow between the DC microgrid and the AC grid. The controller has three levels: a first for controlling daily operations, a second for making optimizing adjustments to the first level control based on historical data and the weather forecast, and a third which is an analysis level for modelling how changes in provision of the number of RES units and ES units would affect the DC microgrid's dependency on power from the AC grid. The output of the third level thus enables incremental changes to be made to provision in order to reduce, ideally eliminate, the net power demand from the AC grid.

The IPS generates and renders transaction information within the keyboard for convenient user access.

Abstract: A complex cryptographic coinage transaction is transactionally sharded into multiple simple cryptographic coinage transactions. The complex cryptographic coinage transaction specifies cryptographic debits and/or deposits to/from multiple input accounts and/or multiple output accounts. The simple cryptographic coinage transactions, however, only specify a single one of the input accounts and/or a single one of the output accounts. A single server within a blockchain environment may thus process one of the simple cryptographic coinage transactions without requiring calls for data from other servers responsible for other accounts.

Abstract: Verifiable order message handling for electronic auctions. Electronic order messages are received, with at least one message including an order of a predetermined type having sell order information associated with an entity having securities not previously registered for transactions. Requests for participation in an electronic auction are identified from among the messages. The requests include auction-only order information, with at least one request including the order of the predetermined type. It is determined whether the sell order information in the order of the predetermined type meets a predetermined auction condition based on an auction price. When the sell order information meets the predetermined auction condition, the order is permitted to participate in the electronic auction, such that the order is executed in full in the electronic auction. When the sell order information does not meet the predetermined auction condition, the electronic auction is canceled.

Abstract: An apparatus and system for casting votes electronically comprises both a host server and a plurality of voting machines at various remote locations. First “user identifying information” for a plurality of potential users who are registered to use the system is pre-stored in memory, either at the host server or at a voting machine, or both. Second “user identifying information” is entered by a user of the voting machine at the time the user wishes to vote. A display on the voting machine presents to the user voting information concerning at least one voting matter for which the user is to make a voting selection. A processor in either the host server or the voting machine, or both, compares the second user identifying information entered by the user of the voting machine with the first user identifying information, if any, previously stored in memory.
