  • Patent number: 9697059
Abstract: A message channel optimization method and system enables multi-flow access to the message channel infrastructure within a CPU of a processor-based system. A user (pcode) employs a virtual channel to submit message channel transactions, with the message channel driver processing the transaction “behind the scenes”. The message channel driver thus allows the user to continue processing without having to block other transactions from being processed. Each transaction will be processed, either immediately or at some future time, by the message channel driver. The message channel optimization method and system are useful for tasks involving message channel transactions as well as non-message channel transactions.

  • Patent number: 9565544
Abstract: Methods and systems for managing resource usage of a mobile device based on a resource threshold of a wireless communications network. A resource policy is received from a mobile device. The resource policy indicates that a network resource manager associated with a wireless communications network is authorized to use the resource policy to control the resource usage of the mobile device to support a resource threshold level of the wireless communications network. The wireless communications network is associated with a service provider of the mobile device. It is then determined that the wireless communications network has met the resource threshold. Upon determining that the wireless communications threshold has met the resource threshold, the resource usage of the mobile device is limited using the received resource policy of the mobile device.

  • Patent number: 9558636
Abstract: A bank server allows a user of one ATM to reserve cash at another, nearby ATM when the first ATM has an inadequate cash inventory to serve the user's requested transaction. The user attempts to withdraw cash from the first ATM, but the first ATM has insufficient cash to perform the withdrawal transaction. Through the first ATM, the bank server offers the user a cash reservation at the other ATM. The bank server causes the other ATM to reserve a requested amount of cash for the user, possibly refusing to dispense cash to other users if doing so would leave the other ATM with insufficient cash to dispense the reserved cash. The user travels a short distance to the other ATM and withdraws the reserved cash. In effect, the other ATM can now perform the withdrawal transaction requested of the first ATM when the first ATM couldn't.

  • Patent number: 9503447
Abstract: Secure communication between processes in cloud platform may be performed by receiving a request from a client application process hosted in an application virtual machine at a load balancer. A first secure communication channel is established between the client application process and the load balancer. The first secure communication channel is encrypted with the client certificate. The first secure communication channel is terminated at the load balancer. A service process in a service virtual machine is identified based on the request received from the client application process. A new request is sent to the service virtual machine to establish a second secure communication channel between the load balancer and the service virtual machine. The load balancer certificate signed by the internal certificate authority is validated at the service virtual machine. Upon successful validation of the load balancer certificate, the second secure communication channel is accepted at the service virtual machine.

Abstract: One embodiment is in the form of a Self-Service Terminal (SST), such as an automated teller machine (ATM). The SST includes a peripheral device, such as a cash dispenser, and a security controller device including a memory device and a coupling to the peripheral device. The security controller device is operable to perform data processing activities including receiving peripheral device identifying data from the peripheral device and transmitting a public key (SCpk) of the security controller device to the peripheral device. The security controller may then decrypt a received peripheral device encryption key (Ki) according to SCpk, generate a first security controller encryption key (Ke1), and generate a first message authentication code key and encrypt the first message authentication code key according to Ke1 to obtain (Km1)Ke1. (Km1)Ke1 may then be stored in the memory device and transmitted to the peripheral device.

  • Patent number: 9387693
Abstract: A two-sided receipt printing method that prints on both sides of paper and produces receipts, and can reduce white space at the leading end of receipts without conveying the paper in reverse. A device that produces two-sided receipts has a cutter, a first printhead that prints on one side of the paper, and a second printhead that prints on the other side of the paper disposed at specific intervals along the paper conveyance path from the paper exit. When an end-of-transaction declaration is received, transaction information is printed by the second printhead and non-transaction information is printed by the first printhead. After printing the transaction information, header information of a length that fits between the cutter and the second print data is printed by the second printhead. The cutter then cuts the paper at a position between where the transaction information was printed and where the header information was printed.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems and methods for implementing a self-service terminal (“SST”) monitoring, notification and maintenance system. Embodiments of the proposed invention may simplify a task of locating an operational SST having a specific operational status and/or capability within a geographic area. Embodiments may automatically determine and monitor an operational status and/or capabilities of a SST. The operational status may include an operational status indicative of a SST that need servicing or repair. A location of a device used to submit a request for SST information may be automatically determined. Location, operational status and directions on how to locate a specific SST within a distance of the determined location may be transmitted in response to a request for SST information. The operational status of multiple SSTs within a geographic area may be monitored.
