Requiring Authorization Or Authentication Patents (Class 705/44)
  • Patent number: 11875342
Abstract: An attempted transaction is identified involving a customer device and the first customer device is redirected to a security broker. A security report for the first customer device is received from the security broker. The security report is based on security data transmitted from the customer device to the security broker. An action can be performed in association with the attempted transaction based at least in part on the received security report. In some aspects, the security broker receives security data describing security conditions on the customer device in connection with the transaction between the customer device and a transaction partner. A risk tolerance policy is identified that corresponds to the transaction partner, such as an ecommerce provider. A security report is generated based on a comparison of the risk tolerance policy and the security data and the security report.

  • Patent number: 11875353
Abstract: Risky actions versus non-risky actions in a transaction are identified and a fraud score associated with probabilities of the risky actions is updated accordingly for purposes of determining whether the transaction is likely or not likely to be associated with fraud. A machine-learning model is trained to predict the risky actions versus non-risky actions of a transaction based on the transaction features as a whole and compare the predicted action labels of risky and non-risky versus the actual actions taken in the transaction to calculate probabilities of risky actions taken and output a risk or fraud score based thereon. Higher probabilities correlate with lower risk scores and vice versus.

Abstract: Rules can be selectively applied by a user to an access card using a graphical user interface (GUI) of a mobile application. For example, the mobile application can provide a graphical user interface through which the user can select how usage of the access card is to be handled by the service provider. The mobile application can receive, through the graphical user interface, input from the user indicating one or more rules to be applied to the access card. The one or more rules can dictate how usage of the access card is to be handled by the service provider. In response to receiving the input, the mobile application can transmit one or more commands to a computer system associated with the service provider. The computer system can receive the one or more commands and implement the one or more rules selected by the user of the access card.

  • Patent number: 11853984
Abstract: A method is proposed for a payer, to make a payment to a payee, such as a merchant. The payer's communication device automatically acquires payment facilitation data comprising payee account identification data identifying a payment account associated with the payee and maintained by an acquirer. The payment facilitation data preferably also includes transaction data describing the payment, such as the amount of the payment. From the payment facilitation data, the communication device generates a payment request which is transmitted to an issuer at which the payer maintains a payment account. The issuer communicates with the acquirer, typically via a payment network, to arrange for a payment to be made, and the payment is credited to the payment account associated with the payee, and debited from the payment account associated with the payer. Thus, a payment is effected without the payee ever receiving confidential information about the payer's payment account.

Abstract: A transaction system can include a computing device with a communication port, a processor device, and a non-transitory computer-readable storage memory. The communication port can communicate data with other computing devices. The non-transitory computer-readable storage memory includes code that is executable by the processor device to perform operations. The operations include receiving parameters of a transfer, verifying the transfer using a multi-factor authentication process, in response to verifying the transfer, using a private key to countersign the transfer and return, via the communications port, a signed transfer package for execution of the transfer, and providing, via the communications port, the parameters of the transfer and countersign data to an immutable ledger.

  • Patent number: 11790361
Abstract: A smart device is provided between a transaction terminal (e.g. an access device, a point of sale terminal) and a payment card to facilitate a secure transaction. The smart device receives transaction details from the transaction terminal. The transaction terminal suspends the transaction. The smart device is brought in communication with a payment device in control of the user (e.g. the user of the payment device does not hand over the payment device to a merchant, clerk, waitstaff). The smart device receives a cryptogram identifying an account from the payment device and transmits the cryptogram to the transaction terminal. The transaction terminal resumes the transaction, generates a transaction authorization request message including the cryptogram, and transmits the transaction authorization request message to an issuer of the account. The transaction terminal receives an authorization response message from the issuer, and notifies the smart device of the transaction being approved or declined.

  • Patent number: 11790356
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer program products for dynamic passcode communication use a merchant application installed on a user device that receives transaction data associated with a transaction at a merchant system. The transaction data may include an account identifier associated with an account at an issuer system. The merchant application determines, based on the account identifier, whether an issuer application associated with the issuer system is installed on the user device. In response to determining that the issuer application is installed on the user device, the merchant application transmits, to the issuer application, a request for a dynamic passcode. The merchant application receives, from the issuer application, the dynamic passcode and transmits, to the issuer system, an authorization request including the account identifier and the dynamic passcode. The merchant application receives, from the issuer system, an authorization response authorizing or denying the transaction.
