  • Patent number: 10176530
Abstract: A computer system or computer-implemented method may provide incentives to an insured customer for receiving sensor data indicating risk-reducing and risk-increasing behavior during the policy term. In-vehicle sensors or other devices may gather information about the vehicle and its use during the policy term and send the information to a back-end system for analysis. Based on this analysis, the back-end system may determine that the received information is indicative of risk-reducing or increasing behavior. Upon confirmation that the information indicates risk-reducing or increasing behavior, the back-end system may perform one or more actions defined by a set of rules to establish an incentive or disincentive for the customer corresponding to the behavior. For example, the system may modify the customer's insurance policy data, send an e-mail, letter, gift card, coupon, points, or other incentive or disincentive for the customer based on the analysis.

Abstract: Embodiments consistent with the present invention provide a credit enhancement structure for risk allocation between parties that minimizes the regulatory capital reserve requirement impact to an institution subject to capital reserve requirement. A subject pool of assets held by the institution, such as a pool of loans, is rated to determine its risk levels. Based on the rated risk levels, a guarantor party agrees to be responsible for a portion of the risk associated with the pool of assets, which may define the maximum risk exposure of the institution holding the asset pool. The risk-rated capital reserve requirements are applied to the asset pool based on the risk level rating and the guarantor's agreed upon risk responsibility such that the institution holds a reduced amount of reserve capital compared to what it would otherwise be required to hold.

Abstract: Methods and systems for detecting inaccurate insurance claims associated with a loss event are provided. An insurance provider may receive loss event data associated with the loss event from a variety of sources. The insurance provider may also receive an insurance claim submission from the claimant customer that indicates an insured property and a claimed amount of damage to the insured property. The insurance provider examines the loss event data to estimate an actual amount of damage experienced by the property as a result of the loss event, and compares the actual amount of damage to the claimed amount of damage. Based on the comparison, the insurance provider may approve the insurance claim, deny the insurance claim, or flag the insurance claim. The systems and methods thus aim to reduce fraudulent or otherwise inaccurate insurance claim filings.
