Organizer's message for participants is sent as text message to participants' texting numbers between event's start/end, and may be sent as if the message originated from organizer's texting number. When event ends, participants' texting numbers are deleted unless a participant participates in organizer's later ending event. In response to invitation to organizer's later event, a received participant's texting number may be encrypted as later identifier, and compared with identifier from earlier event.

Abstract: Methods and systems for modeling user arrival and choice in the context of off-street parking solutions. A first component models the arrival and duration of stay of users as a function of time, taking into account different user profiles (or “clusters”), captured by a latent variable. A second component provides a ranking function (for each user cluster), wherein the input features describing the “choice” constitute status variables associated different car park(s), and the output constitutes a preferred car park and a pricing scheme. The system simulates different user behaviors by assuming some standard groups of users will behave similarly. Groups of users or user profiles are learned automatically. The profiles are then employed as a key element for automatically learning a decision function of parking users, and automatically learning one decision function per profile.

Abstract: An electric vehicle charges a battery through an electric vehicle power supply apparatus, and periodically checks a current charged state of the battery during a charging operation. During the charging operation, the electric vehicle transmits to a user terminal a first charging information notifying message including information on a current charged state of the battery. When the completion of charging of the battery is detected, the electric vehicle transmits to the user terminal a second charging information notifying message providing notification of the completion of charging of the battery.

Abstract: The system and method of the invention describes a unique and simplified design for Hotel Central Reservations Systems that reduces cost and response time by factors of 2 to 10 times. The system accepts ARI information from Property Management Systems and services availability requests from external sources such as Global Distribution Systems or Online Travel Agencies, and proprietary web sites or call centers. The system provides for complete generality with respect to room types and rate management by hotel and by day, for an arbitrary number of room types and for an arbitrary number of days in the future, for specific rates for each room type, each day. The system of the invention can be implemented as a web service, a service appliance, or as a separate software product that would integrate with an existing HCRS. The system could also be used by rental car or airline CRSs.

Abstract: A system comprising a computer-readable storage medium storing at least one program and a computer-implemented method for automatically saving and presenting a state of a communication session are presented. The communication session may be established between a client device of a user and an application server of a content publisher. In some embodiments, the method may include determining that the communication session includes a typical process flow of the user, and identifying an operation that is likely to be repeated during the communication session based on the typical process flow. Session data representative of a state of the communication session may then be stored in response to identifying the operation that is likely to be repeated. The method may further include generating and presenting an interface that includes a visual representation of the session data, and allows a user to return to the saved state of the communication session.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for processing and displaying user-generated content. User-generated content is received from a user over a network. A conversation related to the received user-generated content is identified. A score associated with the identified conversation is calculated based on one or more parameters related to the user or the conversation. The user-generated content is provided for display in relation to the conversation, based on the calculated score associated with the conversation.

Abstract: A networked computer system provides various services for assisting users in locating, and establishing contact relationships with, other users. For example, in one embodiment, users can identify other users based on their affiliations with particular schools or other organizations. The system also provides a mechanism for a user to selectively establish contact relationships or connections with other users, and to grant permissions for such other users to view personal information of the user. The system may also be capable of detecting, and notifying a user of, an event in which the user and a contact of the user are in a common location.

Abstract: A system and methods for mapping price and location of tickets in an event venue are described. An interactive event venue seat map is provided by a network-based system that implements an online marketplace for tickets for upcoming events. The interactive event venue seat map enables sellers to view pricing information and transaction information for both sold and current event listings for any section or zone in an event venue. The interactive event venue seat map allows sellers to browse and click on sections to see sold and listed data for any section and zone in the event venue and to compare a proposed sale price to available pricing information of sold and current event listings in comparable sections. Abstract: A method and apparatus is disclosed that provides an Internet wish list for deferred purchasing. A user clicks on an add to wish list button located on locations, such as, a product page, a banner ad, or search results to add an item to the wish list. A reminder system is used to remind a user to purchase an item at a future time. The shopping list service may be integrated at a high level of integration and a low level of integration. On a low level of integration a proxy platform is used to add functionality to a website.

Abstract: A method of forming unique, private, personal, virtual social networks on a social network system that includes a database storing data relating to corresponding user entities. The method includes: a first user entity sending an invitation to a second user entity, recording in the database the second user entity as a direct contact of the first user entity and determining that third user entities, directly connected to the second user entity, are indirect contacts. A unique, personal, social network formed from direct and indirect contacts is thereby created for each user entity. Each user entity is able to control privacy of its data with respect to other user entities depending on the connection factor to that other entity and/or that other entity's attributes. Each user entity is able to take the role of provider or participant in applications where the provider provides an item or service to the participant.

Abstract: Various embodiments discussed herein disclose a system comprising a user location engine, a checkpoint identification engine, a checkpoint identification engine, a presence notification engine, a checkpoint information engine, and an interuser connection engine. The user location engine determines an initial location when a user enters a given distance of a security checkpoint. The checkpoint identification engine provides a checkpoint identifier of the security checkpoint when the user is at the initial location. The presence notification engine receives a selection of the checkpoint identifier. The checkpoint information engine that receives user-generated information about the security checkpoint and also comprises a condition crowdsourcing engine to integrate the user-generated information into crowdsourced condition data associated with the security checkpoint. The interuser connection engine that provides the crowdsourced condition data to another user.

Abstract: A computer-implemented process can be operated for entering and holding a place for a first customer in a queue while the first customer is waiting to be served at a retail store. The process includes, within a computerized processor, establishing a place in the queue for the first customer, wherein the queue operates to establish among a plurality of customers a customer currently being served by a store employee and an order in which other customers of the plurality will be served. The process further includes displaying upon a portable computerized device of the first customer an indication of a status of the first customer within the queue.

Abstract: A system and method are provided for implementing improved access to inter-company resources among related companies in a same industry, including a mechanism where airline aircrew members and other employees, including pilots, cabin flight crew and others can be validated as to eligibility to participate in cabin access programs, using automation and applying various rules and features. The disclosed schemes expand upon the currently-fielded CASS service to cover two additional groups of currently-unserved customer populations within the airline industry thereby availing those additional groups of benefits equivalent to those provided to pilots and cockpit aircrew by the CASS service.

Abstract: A number of techniques are disclosed for making it more convenient and efficient for customers to conduct various rental vehicle transactions. As an example, a technique for performing an automated pickup of a rental vehicle using a mobile device is disclosed. The files may be routed for OCR processing and/or FTS indexing based on file and/or document types, licensing, and/or the like. Images and corresponding machine-readable text may be archived. Text may be FTS indexed so that the associated files may be identified and accessed by various client systems.

A system configured to practice the method receives an inquiry with at least one parameter from a user associated with a sale of an item. The system identifies one or more discount items that satisfy the inquiry and filters the one or more discount items based on a time-sensitive sales opacity scale. The system identifies comparable items for each discount item at nondiscount rates dynamically using real-time data and presents one or more comparable groups to the user, each comparable group including one filtered discount item and respective comparable items. Then the system advances the sale of the discount item based on user acceptance of one of the presented one or more comparable groups.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for utilizing a mobile station for the transmission of authorization information requiring verification in a telecommunication network comprising the mobile station. In the method, the information to be verified is transmitted to the mobile station, the authorization information transmitted is presented on the display of the mobile station, the authorization information presented is read from the display of the mobile station, and the authenticity of the authorization information thus read is verified. According to the invention, the authorization information is sent in a form comprising information to be presented in a graphic form, and the authorization information is presented on the display of the mobile station using a user-independent function of the mobile station in question for the presentation of graphic information.

Embodiments include identifying a first geographical location of a first computing device corresponding to a first invitee to an event, and a second geographical location of a second computing device corresponding to a second invitee. An event presentation user interface is generated, to include a first invitee presence indicator indicating that the first invitee is within a predetermined distance from a geographical location of the event, and a second invitee presence indicator indicating the second invitee is outside of the predetermined distance from the geographical location of the event. A first user profile is compared to a second user profile within a user interface and recommended modifications to the first user profile are generated in response to user input. The user makes modifications to user information and service provider information contained in the first user profile. Upon invocation of the user profile, service provider instructions, which comprise service execution information, are issued to a service provider to provide a service on behalf of said user.

Abstract: A computing device (e.g., a server computer hosted by a vehicle manufacturer or retailer) receives vehicle configuration information obtained via a user interface of a user device. The vehicle configuration information includes one or more user-adjustable settings. The computing device determines whether a conflict exists between the user-adjustable settings and a regulated vehicle parameter (e.g., a vehicle speed limit), which may be associated with greenhouse gas emissions of the vehicle. The computing device transmits feedback information to the user device. The feedback information may include a description of one or more conflicts between the user-adjustable settings and the regulated vehicle parameter, recommended adjustments to the settings, or the like. The recommended adjustments to the settings may, if accepted by a user, improve regulatory compliance for the vehicle, and may remove or reduce the degree of conflicts between the user-adjustable setting and the regulated vehicle parameter.

Abstract: In various embodiments, advertising campaigns can be defined that incorporate technologies such as two-dimensional bar codes or embedded links in electronic material, for directing a user to communicate with a call center. For instance, in particular embodiments, the reading of a two-dimensional bar code by a user with a smart phone may cause various forms of communication requesting a return communication. The communication from the smart phone may be sent to, and received at, the call center, where a calling campaign associated with an advertising campaign is identified using information associated with the communication. A responding communication may be initiated from the call center to the user.

Abstract: Methods, apparatus, and computer program products for managing an extended record data structure in a content management system. A plurality of records are stored in an extended record data structure that include first data containers containing standard data elements and second data containers containing non-standard data elements. A record identifier is assigned to each record in the extended data structure for which one or more of the standard data elements and one or more of the non-standard data elements are related. For each record, an entry is created in an auxiliary data structure. The entry shares the record identifier of the record and comprises an auxiliary data container. The auxiliary data container includes a set of attributes related to the first and second data containers sharing the same record identifier in the record data structure. The extended record data structure is managed based on the auxiliary data structures.

Abstract: A self-contained multi-station registration system for registering users at a point of registration is disclosed. The registration system provides a registration web page to registration stations at the point of registration. The registration system further receives registration information from the registration stations, wherein the registration information is associated with the users. The registration system then prints the registration information at the point of registration and saves the registration information for later use. Also, the registration system requires no access to public or corporate networks.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method, system, and computer-readable medium is disclosed for determining an estimated available parking distance for a vehicle via vehicle side detection in one or more image frames from an operational video. The operational video can be acquired from a fixed parking occupancy video camera and can include a field of view associated with a parking region. The method can include obtaining operational video from a fixed parking occupancy video camera; detecting, within a region of interest (ROI) of the one or more image frames from the operational video, a side of one or more vehicles parked in a parking region facing a traffic lane using a trained classifier that is trained to detect the side of the one or more vehicles; and determining an estimated available parking distance based on the side of the one or more vehicles that are detected.

Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method for exchanging information between a mobile device and a physical advertising medium, such as a billboard. The method and system enables a pluggable device, coupled with the mobile device, to detect the mobile device within its vicinity of the physical advertising medium. On detection of the mobile device, the pluggable device establishes a handshake communication channel with the mobile device by authorizing the mobile device. Upon authorizing the mobile device, the pluggable device initiates the advertisement information exchange between the physical advertising medium and the mobile device in a non-intrusive manner. In one aspect, the method and system further enables the mobile device to relay the advertisement information to other mobile devices or any other physical advertisement mediums within its vicinity.

Abstract: A method of generating notifications related to availability of new media content is provided. The method includes receiving a notification subscription including a request to monitor for new media content. The method also includes detecting new media content based on the subscription, and if a change is detected, determining an access right and transmitting a notification of the new media content. The metadata of the new media content is used in the subscriptions to determine when to generate notifications. Media content may include media articles, media selections, theatrical media releases, live content, or miscellaneous media sources.

Abstract: A game joystick adapted for being operated by optical finger navigator includes a body, a main circuit board assembled inside the body, at least one operation interface mounted in the top of the body and exposed through a top face of the body to be substantially flush with the top face of the body, and at least one detective control unit mounted on the main circuit board inside the body and electrically connected to the main circuit board. The operation interface is located over the detective control unit. The detective control unit emits light to the bottom of the operation interface and further captures fingerprint information through the operation interface under the action of the light while moving a finger on the operation interface. The fingerprint information is further processed and converted into operation commands by the detective control unit and then the operation commands are sent out.

Abstract: A wireless device access system employs short-range wireless communication to require the proximity of a user device to a structure prior to communicating an unlock request. The access system authenticates the unlock request and the proximity of the user to the structure prior to transmitting an unlock command to the structure. Additionally, the wireless device may require the proximity of a user token prior to operation and/or the access system may include an override within the structure blocking any unlock command.

Abstract: A control of autonomous vehicles, and a method for controlling at least one autonomous ground vehicle configured to adopt two operating modes, including a manual mode in which the driving depends on driving instructions from the driver of the vehicle, and an autonomous mode, in which the driving depends on data received from sensors configured to provide information on surroundings of the vehicle, and on data received by a navigation system, the method including: authorizing the autonomous mode only when the vehicle is within an area determined by defined boundaries; receiving reservation data from a user interface; generating a set message to be transmitted to the vehicle in accordance with the received reservation data; and transmitting the set message to the vehicle such that the vehicle autonomously performs a movement corresponding to the transmitted set message.
