Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for informing users regarding the rescheduling of a meeting. A counter, associated with a meeting, is set to the value of 1 when the meeting has been rescheduled for the first time. Upon a user (e.g., meeting initiator, meeting recipient) proposing to reschedule the meeting a further time, an indicator is presented to the user informing the user that the meeting has been previously rescheduled. Such information may be used by the user to decide whether to proceed with rescheduling the meeting. If the user decides to proceed, the counter is incremented and a meeting invitation is generated, where the meeting invitation includes an indication (e.g., number of times the meeting has been rescheduled obtained from the counter) regarding the meeting having been previously rescheduled. In this manner, the meeting recipients would have knowledge that the meeting has been previously rescheduled.

Abstract: A centralized web-based system and method for managing appointments having a user interface that interacts with one or more users to display one or more items based on user input, a management module connected to the user interface and configured to receive data related to scheduling an appointment, determine one or more possible appointments based on the data, present the one or more possible appointments, receive a user selection from the one or more possible appointments, and schedule the appointment based on the user selection, and one or more databases configured to store appointment information, wherein the one or more databases are connected to the management module and wherein the data comprises a date and time slot and at least one of a facility, a service, and a servicer.

Abstract: A method and computer program product for receiving an indication of a meeting being scheduled between a plurality of attendees. At least one of the attendees is designated a moderator of the meeting. The actions of the designated moderator are monitored to determine if the designated moderator is capable of performing one or more moderator responsibilities associated with being the designated moderator. If it is determined that the designated moderator is incapable of performing the one or more moderator responsibilities, an alternate moderator chosen from the plurality of attendees is designated.

Abstract: A method for managing appointments using a wireless device includes receiving scheduling data for a future appointment including a time associated with the future appointment. A current location of the wireless device is determined, and a reminder for the future appointment is provided at a time prior to the future appointment based on the current location of the wireless device. For example, the reminder may be provided at a time that varies based on the current location of the wireless device, a location associated with the future appointment, and an estimated travel time between the current location of the device and the location associated with the future appointment. Related methods, devices, and computer program products are also discussed.

Abstract: Method and system of connecting and facilitating safe and efficient electronic communications between three or more parties for the purpose of an exchange of goods and/or services between the three parties. One embodiment of the present invention uses a software script that connects buyers, sellers, and third party couriers based on how close the parties are physically located to each other. This embodiment is accomplished by having a buyer, a seller, and a courier connect to a remote location-based goods exchange server (remote server) and set up an account.

Abstract: Software and methods allow a league golfer to schedule a substitute golfer or request a need for a substitute. If a substitute golfer is scheduled, the golfer is notified. If a substitute golfer is not scheduled, all potential substitute golfers that are loaded into the system will be notified of the request. The first substitute golfer to respond to the request is automatically scheduled in place of the league golfer. The system automatically notifies the league golfer that the request has been fulfilled. Previously, golfers and league secretaries relied on making phone calls, leaving messages and manually sending emails to find a substitute golfer. The system notifies all available golfers simultaneously and requires less effort. The system accepts only one substitute golfer for each request, based on whichever substitute responds first. All others are notified that the request is no longer available and prevented from accepting the request.

Abstract: A group scheduling solution offers an organized and formalized solution to the time management problem in which the desired meeting includes a person who is difficult to schedule. A scheduling system is provided in which a hard-to-schedule attendee takes over responsibility for setting the start time of an event. A workflow is provided, in which the organizer sends a request to the hard-to-schedule person. The request contains the desired duration of the meeting, and possibly a list of attendees, location, and other details. These requests are maintained in a queue for the hard-to-schedule person. The hard-to-schedule person, or their proxy, reviews these requests and selects a suitable time for the meeting, thereby causing an update to be sent back to the organizer and the other attendees, thus indicating the appointed time for the meeting.

Workflow of the firm may be controlled by utilizing a plurality of processors to automate workflow handling. A host device or other device detects the presence of a possible meeting participant in a room, conference center, or other region. In response, an invite is sent for joining the meeting. The proximity based invitation may remove the requirement of the possible participant from having to find a previous message with the meeting invitation for joining and/or the requirement of the host to manually invite the possible participant. From the perspective of the possible participant, merely being in the proximity of the meeting may be enough to initiate joining, to receive an invite, and/or to join a meeting.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method provides location-sensitive and time-sensitive calendaring to a wireless device, such as a cell phone, pager, PDA, etc. A user's calendar is maintained with a number of appointments, start times and end times for the appointments, meeting place and a list of attendees for the appointments. When the present time reading is within a predetermined minimum of a meeting start time of an appointment of a calendar user, the location of the user is determined based on the location of the wireless device. The location of the meeting place is also determined. Using historical data (of the user or others), the estimated time of arrival of the user at the meeting place is determined. If the estimated time of arrival is after the meeting start time, then a late message may be sent to the user and/or to the other meeting attendees.

Abstract: Methods and systems for dynamically providing users with appointment reminders are described. An example computer-implemented method of adaptively alerting a user regarding an appointment start time includes identifying a start time of an appointment at which a device is to be present and identifying a first location of the device. The method includes calculating an estimated travel time between the first location at which the device is located and a second location at which the appointment is to be held, and alerting a user of the upcoming appointment based on the estimated travel time and a difference between a current time and the start time of the appointment.

Abstract: An exemplary method for controlling a workflow is provided. The method includes: setting a check-status schedule and a reminder timer for each task of the workflow process; checking whether any task of the workflow process is in an incomplete state according to the check-status schedule; obtaining an operator name and a task assigned time of the task remained in the incomplete state; calculating a time difference between a current time and the task assigned time and calculating a remainder by utilizing modular arithmetic; and generating an alarm signal and sending the alarm signal to inform a corresponding operator to perform the task remained in the incomplete state if the remainder is greater than zero and not greater than the check-status schedule. A plurality of invitees is identified in response to an event scheduling request and scheduling information for each invitee is obtained. The scheduling information includes information obtained from at least two different types of calendaring system and comprises information regarding other events associated with each invitee. A priority is set for each invitee based on the scheduling information and the event scheduling request.

Abstract: A method and a system for providing scheduling assistance are described. A computer-implemented method includes extracting from a request for scheduling a meeting a meeting location and a meeting start time in response to the request from a requester. The method includes retrieving, from an event database, event information for a preceding event occurring before the meeting. The event information includes an event location and an event end time. Travel time from the event location to the meeting location is determined, and a potential travel time scheduling conflict is identified when the travel time exceeds a time difference between the event end time and the meeting start time. Notification of the potential travel time scheduling conflict is provided to the requester.

Abstract: Methods, systems, apparatuses, and computer program products for confirming attendance of prospective attendees to a meeting or events via time management or event scheduling applications, such as calendar applications, are disclosed. Various embodiments comprise scheduling the meeting, waiting for a period of time, and automatically sending confirmation requests to one or more prospective attendees of the meeting. Some embodiments also comprise sending invitations to and receiving acceptances by one or more prospective attendees. Some embodiments further comprise receiving one or more responses to the confirmation requests from the prospective attendees. Some embodiments may reschedule the meeting, or events of the meeting, based upon responses to the confirmation requests. Various embodiments may send or receive the confirmation requests and responses via instant messaging (IM) messages, e-mail messages, and short message service (SMS) messages.

Abstract: Social networks often permit users to create events, and to invite one or more contacts of the user to as guests. However, conventional social networks may not sufficiently facilitate users in planning an event for which one or more event details are to be determined. According to the techniques presented herein, a social network may permit users to create an event plan, and may permit guests to submit event plan suggestions for various event plan details of the event plan. The social network may also assist the guests in selecting among the event plan suggestions, e.g., by accepting and tallying votes by the guests among alternative event plan suggestions, by providing event plan suggestions based on search engine results, and by presenting maps of event plan suggestions involving locations. The social network may also accept RSVPs, and may notify guests once a guest arrives at a location of the event.

Abstract: A management database is queried to determine which customers have failed to respond to recall notices. The resulting list of customers may be sorted or filtered so that some customers are preferentially contacted first, based on expected value or office preferences. The list may also be sorted or filtered to fill specific providers' schedules first. Customer names and contact information are then presented to schedulers so that customers may be contacted. The time and date of each contact is automatically recorded along with the outcome of the contact. A customer name is presented to a scheduler only if the same name is not being simultaneously presented to other schedulers and that customer was not too recently contacted, so that redundant or too frequent contacts are avoided.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a system for motivating electronically-scheduled event attendance can include a set of attendance listening components, an attendance prompt, and an attendance prompting tool. The attendance listening components can monitor activities performed in a networked environment. The attendance prompt can represent an electronic message and feedback mechanism that is provided on an electronic device. The attendance prompting tool can interject the attendance prompt into an activity identified by an attendance listening component as being performed by a user-selected member of the networked environment. The attendance prompt can be associated with an electronically-scheduled event the user-selected member is to attend.

Abstract: Disclosed are apparatus and methods for locating one or more dates. Specific embodiments include a dates locator that is operable to analyze a date request in the form of natural language words or phrases and determine that such words or phrases correspond to a specific date or range of dates. In one natural language example, a date request may be in the form of a specified holiday or specified period of time before and/or after such specified holiday (e.g., Thanksgiving week) and the corresponding date or range of dates are retrieved by the dates locator. That is, dates locator embodiments receive a date request that uses date contextual information as input to thereby retrieve a specific date or range of dates. The retrieved date or range of dates may then be displayed based in the date request's contextual information. Additionally, a dates locator may include a learning mechanism to learn new associations between particular contextual information and a specific date or range of dates.
