  • Patent number: 9146894
Abstract: A method for making entity recommendations to users of a social networking system (SNS) by maximizing a predicted benefit to the SNS through objective value models. The method includes generating a plurality of candidate entities eligible for recommendation, and determining a weight for each candidate entity based upon an output score generated by an objective value model. The objective value model utilizes objectively measurable input values describing the candidate entities and generates larger output scores for those candidate entities that would create larger predicted increases in an objectively measurable amount of benefit for the SNS created by a potential connection being created between the user and the respective candidate entity. One or more entities are selected based upon the determined weights, and an entity recommendation user interface is presented to the user that includes one or more recommendation modules identifying the selected one or more entities.

Abstract: A computer system for assessing the performance of an organisation is configured to load member data and assessment data; assign an assessment type to each member using the member assessment data; send question data including a series of performance criteria questions to each member, which include a set of performance statements provided in contrasting ways such that each member provides two input scores for each performance statement; receive input scores including two scores for each performance statement; store the input scores for each member as results data, which is associated with at least one of the assessment type and the performance statements; process the results data to provide output data by calculating an average difference between the two scores providing a discrepancy metric for each of the set of performance statements, and send the output data including the discrepancy metric representing the performance of the organisation.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for evaluating healthcare professionals by assigning each healthcare professional an overall value (Reputation Score) based on a healthcare professional's merits, as well as feedback and endorsement obtained by this healthcare professional from other healthcare professionals or patient users. The Reputation Score gives patients a way to understand each doctor's qualifications, knowledge of medical practices, and the quality of their engagement with patients or other medical professions. The patient users therefore can find and select professionals based on their trusted evaluations. Systems and methods are further provided which utilize information the doctor received from other peer doctors and from patients under many identified topics or area of practice. Such information can be presented together with other content the doctor rendered or other evaluating system to show the doctor's credentials.

Abstract: A method for providing a performance improvement recommendation to a professional includes automatically generating, by a profile generator executing on a first computing device, a profile of a professional. The method includes automatically analyzing, by an analysis engine executing on the first computing device, the generated profile. The method includes generating, by the analysis engine, responsive to the analysis, a performance metric for the professional. The method includes comparing the generated performance metric with a second performance metric generated for a second professional. The method includes transmitting, by the analysis engine, to a second computing device associated with the professional, a recommendation for improving the performance metric based upon a result of the comparison.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method of handling contacts at a contact center. The method includes the steps of identifying a characteristic associated with a contact received at the contact center, and labeling a contact entity representing the contact with a label identifying the characteristic. In response to receipt of a request from an agent of the contact center to handle the contact based on the label of the contact entity, the contact is assigned to the agent and in response to the agent successfully handling the contact, an agent record associated with the agent, is updated to indicate a proficiency in handling contacts associated with the characteristic.

Abstract: An information processing apparatus includes a storage and a controller. The storage stores a plurality of tasks for which first threshold values are respectively assigned. The controller communicates with the storage, the controller being programmed to select a first task group from the plurality of tasks, provide a first task from the first task group, calculate a first score based on an operation result of the first task, and determine whether or not to provide a second task from the first group tasks based on a comparison between the first score and the first threshold value for the second task.

Abstract: A device for measuring power consumption and performance relative to the environment of a power-consuming unit is disclosed. The device includes a data introduction module, a keyboard for inputting data of waste production in the power-consuming unit, a computing device, and a display screen. The computing device receives the data from the data introduction module and the keyboard. The computing device is also provided with a processor that includes a calculation algorithm of an ecological parameter indicative of the performance relative to the environment of the power-consuming unit. The ecological parameter is calculated as an adjusted mean of the sum of the deviations of each power consumption value with respect to a reference value.

Abstract: Monitoring asset performance to identify key performance indicators (KPIs) is described. A method is described including receiving a set of asset performance information relating to at least one target asset associated with a company, calculating a KPI in view of the set of asset performance information, determining a cost benefit measurement based on the calculated KPI, and generating a report including at least one of the KPI or the cost benefit measurement. Additionally, the calculated KPIs and/or cost benefit measurements may be used to perform intra-company comparisons and inter-company comparisons.

The method may include displaying a page with a plurality of tiles on a user device. The tiles displayed on the page may include a plurality of key performance indicator (KPI) tiles and at least one of a report tile, a news tile and a collaboration tile. The method may retrieve metadata from an in-memory database, the metadata from the in-memory database may correspond to content displayed in at least one of the KPI tiles on the page. In response to an input from a user input apparatus selecting one of the tiles displayed on the page, the method may display additional details or controls for the selected tile.

Abstract: Computer-implemented methods and systems enable real-time performance comparisons between users and peers by tracking user beliefs, observations, and responses to performance issues. The system operates in a series of cycles, where each user is asked to input outcome information for each cycle. The system tracks beliefs of users relating to the improvement of the outcome by asking the users to compare methods for achieving the outcome and to define their priorities. The system provides real-time charts to users such as heat maps and Gaussian curves, allowing users to observe the popularity and performance ranking of chosen priorities as compared to others.

Abstract: An operations management environment is integrated with an information technology infrastructure through an adaptor, the integration occurring while the information technology infrastructure performs one or more tasks. Data from the information technology infrastructure is received through the adapter. Relationships between the artifacts included in the information technology infrastructure are modeled based on the received data. A proposed modification to the information technology infrastructure is determined based on an external change. While the information technology infrastructure performs the one or more tasks, the response of the artifacts to the proposed modification is simulated using the modeled relationships. The response of the artifacts is monitored to determine if the proposed modification implements the external change.

Abstract: In a method of a technology for visual workflow process notation and layout, a workflow process graphical user interface is generated. A plurality of activity nodes is arranged along a workflow path, with each activity node representing a work activity. The activity nodes are arranged on the workflow path in representation of an order of performance of work activities within the process of performing work. A material flow path is arranged adjacent to the workflow path. The material flow path is representative of a flow of a material through the work activities associated with the plurality of activity nodes. A resource allocation node is disposed adjacent to a portion of the material flow path and one of said activity nodes.
