  • Patent number: 8798969
Abstract: An enterprise database is accessed through semantic labels to develop models that enhance the database. A database of business objects is accessed, the business objects including data tables that relate semantic labels to enterprise data. One or more rules that use the semantic labels are applied to select enterprise data corresponding to the semantic labels. The selected enterprise data are used to determine modeling parameters that relate a semantic-label input set to a semantic-label output set, the semantic-label input set and the semantic-label output set each including at least one of the semantic labels. The modeling parameters are used to generate a simulation table that predicts an operational range of at least one business object corresponding to at least one of the semantic labels. The at least one business object is augmented in the database by including the simulation table in the at least one business object.

  • Patent number: 8747115
Abstract: An approach for building an ontology is provided. Based on a grammar, extracted complex triples are syntactically transformed to identify core terms. The syntactically transformed complex triples are semantically transformed into simplified triples referring to new terms that conceptualize the core adjectives, adverbs and verbs, and assigning the core terms to respective definitions and keys in a reference ontology, thereby retaining the semantics of the complex triples. Based on a meta-schema of the reference ontology, an enrichment transformation of the simplified triples is performed to create simplified and enriched triples by adding relations derived from a correspondence each term in the simplified triples has with the reference ontology and by adding representations of semantics of reference ontology definitions of the terms. The simplified and enriched triples are stored as an ontology representing knowledge in an application providing the free-form text from which the complex triples were extracted.

If the clump concept constitutes part of a dialogue, then the dialogue thread is activated by determining the context of the clump concept and assessing a potential reply from a group of weighted replies, which expected replies are weighted based on the parsed concepts produced in the step of parsing. The heaviest weighted one of the expected replies is selected and the weight of the selected reply after it is selected is downgraded. • Patent number: 8543532
Abstract: An approach is provided for providing a co-creation platform. A co-creation application extracts tags from a plurality of information sources reflecting the expertise of a user. The co-creation application creates a model of the user's expertise by applying a probabilistic analysis on the extracted tags. The co-creation application collects assignment information including at least one or more specified areas of expertise, and matches the model of the user's expertise against the specified areas of expertise.

Abstract: Disclosed is a design check knowledge construction system that adequately improves the quality of check knowledge and fully enhances the quality of a product, which is a final target to be checked. The check target knowledge definition section generates check target knowledge definition data, which is obtained by defining check target knowledge (check knowledge) that serves as a target field to be checked, in accordance with the relationship between a word group and words in the word group and with reference to technological ontology concerning technological basic intelligence input from a user input/output section. The word association section extracts a word group from a document data group associated with the word group in the check target knowledge definition data and associates words in the word group with each other in accordance with the document data group including a plurality of document data based on knowledge content.

  • Patent number: 8527451
Abstract: Pre-existing business objects (e.g., component parts of large business applications) may already define a hierarchy of related terms and include a search index created by a pre-existing search function. A semantic network including a plurality of semantic knowledge domains may be constructed automatically, based on the objects' initial terms structure and search index, and further modified by search results and related terms returned by the search function. This way, a customer specific semantic network may be constructed automatically from pre-existing software components and terms.

Abstract: Determining semantics for locations based on user data such as user activities and/or user communications. The user data is captured and analyzed to identify keywords including locations. Location data describing the locations is obtained and associated with the user and keywords. The associations represent user context for the locations. The associations are used to deliver services and/or products to the user at various times such as when user approaches or enters a particular location.

  • Patent number: 8495001
Abstract: Computer-implemented systems and methods for synthesis of concept definitions and concept relationships from a domain of data, utilizing different semantic processing protocols such as formal concept analysis and faceted classification synthesis from existing domain concepts that have a confidence gradient built into them. A cognitive or an input agent provides an input of an active concept which is matched against existing domain concepts. The resultant pool of relevant domain concepts is then used to derive virtual concept definitions using a semantic processing protocol. The derivation is then overlaid with a concept of relative proximity of an attribute from another within an attribute set. An additional layer of coherence is given by the relative proximity measure. The end result is a pool of related virtual concept definitions in a tree structure.

  • Patent number: 8473449
Abstract: A method for effecting a dialogue with an emulated brain. The method includes the step of receiving a query in the form of a semantic string. The semantic string is then parsed into basic concepts of the query. The basic concepts are then clumped into a clump concept. The selected reply is then generated for output in a sentence structure.
