Abstract: A system and method are provided for automatic photo-image uplink confirmation. A photo-image discovery device scans communication interfaces for photo-capable devices, and determines if detected photo-capable devices have stored electronically formatted photo-images. The photo-images are acquired into the photo-image discovery device and uploaded to a network-connected storage site. A log is generated chronicling the photo-image upload status. The log is automatically supplied to the photo-capable device sourcing the photo-images, or to a discovery device user interface. In one aspect, the log is supplied in a photo-image file format (e.g., JPEG) for display of a user interface display of the photo-capable device.

Abstract: A customer can request migration of its data from a multi-tenant hosting environment to a local environment. The customer's data is pulled from the multi-tenant hosting environment and scrubbed so that it is compatible with a local version of the application previously hosted in the multi-tenant hosting environment. The data is made available to the customer at a secure location in the hosting environment. The customer retrieves the data, after proper authentication, to its local data store, and then imports the data into the local version of the application. Users of the local version of the application are then mapped from previous multi-jurisdictional identifications to local user identifications in the application.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention relate to systems, methods, and computer program products for improved electronic discovery. Embodiments herein disclosed provide for an enterprise-wide e-discovery system that provides for validity verification of electronic communications prior to subsequent processing, such as decryption or standardized format conversion.

Abstract: An electronic shoreline cleanup and assessment system includes a plurality of hardware and software elements configured to provide automation and greater efficiency for SCAT teams. In an exemplary embodiment, teams use digital cameras and GPS receivers programmed with data dictionaries in their survey efforts. Collected data can be synchronized with a laptop computer, which can then wirelessly transmit data to an environmental command center. The environmental command center can operate a central computer and central database, which permit useful operations with the gathered data.

Abstract: A storage area can be accessed by a computer. Files are stored in the storage area, in which application-related files are stored. Each of the files stored in the storage area is alternatively stored as protected or unprotected file. In at least one embodiment, as a function of commands, which are prespecified by a user to the computer within the scope of running an application, the protected files and/or the unprotected files are read out of the storage area by the computer. Furthermore, in at least one embodiment, as a function of commands which are prespecified by the user to the computer within the scope of running the application, the unprotected files stored in the storage area are changed, deleted and/or converted into protected files and/or new files are determined on the basis of files stored in the storage area and are stored as unprotected files in the storage area.

Abstract: An information processing apparatus includes an application execution unit configured to generate data to be recorded onto a medium that records data or reproduce data from the medium, a file system unit configured to manage data recorded on the medium using a file system, and a file conversion unit configured to perform conversion between a first file format processable by the application execution unit and a second file format defined by the file system. The file conversion unit converts a file of the first file format generated by the application execution unit into a file of the second file format having an allowable size defined by the file system and supplies the converted file to the file system unit in the form of a file to be recorded.

Abstract: A computer system having stored in memory a set of executable software tools that include both producer tools and consumer tools, wherein one or more of the tools may be both a producer tool and a consumer tool, a model repository, and a set of software engines that include hybrid models each bridging semantics of a corresponding producer tool or a corresponding consumer tool that is importing or exporting to or from a neutral model representation of the information, wherein instantiations of the neutral models reside in the model repository.

Abstract: Systems and methods for controlling the use of audio, video and audiovisual content are provided. A data structure includes content usage rights for multiple release windows. The usage rights may be encoded in the content or otherwise bound to the content. Playback devices are configured to access the appropriate usage rights and control usage in accordance with the usage rights.

Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for locating, collecting, collating, analyzing, and reporting on summarized data that is generated from regulatory compliance matter data. Data is collected and compiled from multiple sources, including government databases, web pages, and regulatory documents. These collected data are consolidated and reconciled. A single topic record is created for a person, company, or product. Duplication and redundancy within the information are reduced. Corrections in data format are made for inconsistencies that exist between different information sources. Broad and/or narrow searches are enabled with the retrieval of information and/or relevant documents. The integrated data and associated analyses can be presented in reports that can be made accessible through a LAN, a WAN, a desktop, and/or a web interface.

Abstract: A computer-implemented system and method for tagged data and rectangular data conversions. The system and method receive tagged input data that is in a non-rectangular format and that uses a hierarchical arrangement of tags to indicate data relationships. The tagged input data is displayed in a graphical interface, and the graphical interface is used to create a mapping specification from the tagged input data.

Abstract: Various technologies and techniques are disclosed for aggregating and using data collected from multiple computers to modify a later behavior of those computers. In one implementation, a data aggregation system is described. A data collector is operable to collect behavior data over a network from one or more applications used by the computers, and to save the behavior data to a data store. A data installer is operable to access the behavior data in the data store and convert the behavior data into a format that will modify a future operation of at least one of the applications that is used on at least one of the computers. A method for creating and distributing a custom dictionary from data collected from multiple computers is described. A method for identifying related documents from data collected from multiple computers is also described.

Abstract: Systems and methods for mapping enterprise data are described. Information associated with an enterprise is obtained from a plurality of sources and transformed to obtain formatted data. The formatted data is orchestrated and relationships between portions of the formatted data are determined from which business intelligence related to the enterprise is obtained. A plurality of analytics is performed on the formatted data and business intelligence.

Abstract: This invention concerns an iterative procedure for conversion of structured software objects into a raw data stream and vice versa, providing for their direct transfer using simple communication resources such as those of an embedded computer station, and reset of said software objects or reutilisation of memory space allocated to them. This procedure can be used by an embedded platform (2) or a portable object including at least a processor capable of exchanging information with a terminal in the form of linear data sequences. The procedure includes a step for conversion of a data set, in one direction or the other, between a linear data sequence arrangement on the one hand, and a structured arrangement describing or representing an object-oriented software object on the other hand.

Abstract: A Java-MATLAB bridge is provided for enabling utilization of MATLAB® functionality in an enterprise environment. The Java-MATLAB bridge includes a Java® wrapper and a MATLAB wrapper. The MATLAB wrapper is coupled to the Java wrapper and the Java wrapper provides an entry point for invoking the MATLAB functionality in the enterprise environment.

Abstract: A system and method for signing an electronic document obtains a signing tag and document content from a data base to generate an extensible markup language (XML) file of the electronic document. The system and method further converts the XML file to an extensible stylesheet language formatting objects (XSL-FO) file, and converts the XSL-FO file to a portable document format (PDF) file. Furthermore, the method obtains a signing position of the PDF file according to the signing tag and inserts an electronic signature into the PDF file according to the signing position.

Abstract: A voicemail system (18, 30) includes a memory (38, 64) and a processor (34, 62). The memory (38, 64) can store data relating to one or more users. An incoming communication can be handled by the voicemail system (18, 30) and provided with functionality based upon a user's preferences, for example. The voicemail system (18, 30) can include functionality to allow a user to convert a voicemail message to a desired format and forward the file to one or more designated destinations. Methods (700, 800, 900, 1000) for forwarding one or messages are also disclosed.

Abstract: A system for providing at least one electronic book is disclosed. The system can adjust the format of the electronic book in accordance with the specification of the reader and thereby make the electronic book compatible with the reader. Moreover, a method for providing at least one electronic book is also disclosed in specification.

Abstract: In an information device in which moving images are stored, moving image data is provided to a plurality of applications or the moving image usage function between a plurality of devices is improved. The information device comprises a database section for storing the moving image data in association with identification information for identifying the moving image data, a receiving section for receiving a read out request for the moving image data specified by the identification information from any of the applications for reproducing the moving image data, an output section for reading out the moving image data specified by the read out request from the database section to pass it to the application of the source of the read out request, and an execution section for executing the applications for reproducing the moving image data outputted from the output section.

Abstract: Performance metrics data in a multi-dimensional structure such as a nested scorecard matrix is transformed into a flat structure or de-normalized for efficient querying of individual records. Each dimension and header is converted to a column and data values resolved at intersection of dimension levels through an iterative process covering all dimensions and headers of the data structure. A key corresponding to a tuple representation of each cell or a transform of the tuple may be used to identify rows corresponding to the resolved data in cells for further enhanced query capabilities.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of creating a data model for analysis of operations relating to services and to a method for analyzing such a data model. The operations involve parameters, and each operation has at least one input parameter and at least one output parameter. In the a data model there are nodes representing the parameters and directed relations representing the operations, and a directed relation representing an operation connects at least one node representing said at least one input parameter of the operation to at least one node representing said at least one output parameter of the operation. Computer programs and computers for creating or analyzing services using the described data model are also discussed.

Abstract: Supply chain management (SCM) systems and methods are presented. In SCM ecosystems having multiple independent trading partners that can functions as peers, the trading partners likely lack a “single version of truth” with respect to retail data formats or transactions. The partners can utilize database connectors to interact with other peer partners by converting the partner's retail data from proprietary formats to a common transaction format understood by all connectors or by an SCM application stack constructed from SCM modules. The connectors can use a registry server to discover other connectors capable participating in a requested transaction relationship. SCM modules can be configured to support a transaction relationship according to the transaction relationships available to the peers' connectors.

Abstract: A file-converting method is disclosed. The file-converting method includes the following steps. Obtain an architecture file from Mechanical Computer-aided Design (MCAD) software. Analyze the architecture file to obtain at least an architecture element, which is not compatible with Electrical Computer-aided Design (ECAD) software, according to a converting database. Replace the architecture element in the architecture file with a symbol element, which is compatible with the ECAD software, to generate a layout file.

Abstract: A data processing system is disclosed. The system includes a processor, a transformer, a first memory buffer, a second memory buffer, a first filter, and a second filter. An obtained transmission signal symbol is first transformed to first data. The first memory buffer stores the first data. The processor obtains peak data based on the first data according to a predetermined threshold. The transformer transforms the peak data to second data and stores the second data in the second memory buffer. The first filter filters the second data to determine reserved data of the second data and removes the reserved data from the second data to generate third data. The transformer transforms the third data to fourth data and stores the fourth data in the second memory buffer. The processor merges the first and fourth data to generate fifth data. The second filter filters the fifth data based on the transmission signal symbol and a previously obtained transmission signal symbol.

Abstract: A system for transforming source input data using a configurable transformation macro. A transformation macro script is executed by a configurable transformation macro. One or more transformation templates are read by the transformation macro script. Input data is read by the transformation macro script from one or more source files. Logical processing of the transformation macro script and the one or more transformation templates is performed by the configurable transformation macro. It is determined whether constraints generated by the logical processing of the transformation macro script and the one or more transformation templates are valid. In response to determining that the constraints generated by the logical processing of the transformation macro script and the one or more transformation templates are valid, it is determined whether transformation of the input data is complete. In response to determining that the transformation of the input data is complete, a transformation output is outputted.

Abstract: A computer includes an application system, a storage device and a basic input output system (BIOS). The application system can be respectively coupled to the storage device and the BIOS, set at least a multimedia file as a preset playing file according to an input instruction and store the preset playing file into the storage device. The application system can further generate a log file according to the input instruction and the storage position of the preset playing file, wherein the log file is sent to the BIOS. The BIOS has a file access module, so that the BIOS can acquire the preset playing file from the storage device according to the log file for playing during booting the computer.

Abstract: Compressing data from a markup language document such as an XML document includes the steps of creating from the document a path based statistical tree built according to a given set of rules, and compressing the document by using the statistical tree. In an embodiment, the statistical tree includes a multitude of paths, and a single bit represents each of said paths. Also, the document may include both enumerated data and non-enumerated data, and the enumerated data is compressed by using the statistical tree. In an embodiment, the document includes a multitude of document nodes, and the step of creating the path based statistical tree includes the step of forming said tree with a multitude of tree nodes, each of the tree nodes representing one of the document nodes.

Abstract: An improved approach is described for implementing transformations of data records in high concurrency environments. Each transformation is performed in parallel at the source when the data record is first generated. According to one approach for data integrity validation, record generators compute an integrity checksum for a newly generated record before copying into a data unit in shared memory. Subsequent generators may aggregate integrity checksums for data records into checksums for data units incrementally. This approach achieves end-to-end protection of data records against corruption using an efficient method of maintaining verifiable data integrity. In another approach, compression and encryption data transformations may be performed by themselves, or in combination with an integrity checksum transformation.

Abstract: Multiple sets of data are obtained from different sources. Each data set is represented using a different format having a different syntax and organized in a multi-level nested data structure. Each data set is reformatted into a standardized table format using a depth-first recursive algorithm without relying on the syntax schema of the original format of the data set. Various operations are performed on the tables corresponding to the data sets, including but not limited to joining multiple tables, grouping selected rows of a table, ranking rows of a table, adding or deleting fields from selected rows of a table, etc. Optionally, inferred namespace and text normalization are utilized for selected table operations. One or more templates are provided for converting the data set of a table to a format that may be presented to a user.

Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for the transcoding of data from a first format to a second format. A data format transcoder receives a request for data from a requester. The desired format of the requested data is determined. A descriptor file containing formatting information describing the requested format is loaded into the data format transcoder. The requested data is retrieved in its native format along with its corresponding common descriptor. The requested data is read in its native format, using the formatting information from its associated common descriptor. The data format transcoder then uses the formatting information in the common descriptor of the requested format to perform transcoding operations to convert the requested data from its native format into the requested format.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a system, computer-readable medium and a method for maintaining data in a format usable by a plurality of different computer applications. Data is input into a first application document having a first format and received by the system. The data is parsed from the first application document, and the parsed data is converted to a raw data string. A template associated with the raw data string is selected in a second computer application. Based on information related to the association of the template to the raw data string, the raw data string is converted to a second application document having a second format. The second application document is presented on an output device or stored in the second document format.

Abstract: Structured and/or unstructured data is processed with the aid of a data model. The data model provides a conceptual description of source content that can be generated or otherwise modified automatically as a function of data, models, and/or structure associated with the data. Both structured and unstructured data can be viewed in terms of high-level content rather than a lower level physical model. Among other things, this view can be employed to aid search as well as data sharing.

Transforming the logical data object comprises creating in the storage device a transformed logical data object comprising a header and one or more allocated accommodation sections with predefined size; transforming one or more sequentially obtained chunks of obtained data corresponding to the transforming logical data object thus giving rise to the transformed data chunks; and sequentially accommodating the processed data chunks into said accommodation sections in accordance with an order said chunks received, wherein said accommodation sections serve as atomic elements of transformation/de-transformation operations during input/output transactions on the logical data object.

Abstract: Techniques for reducing a number of computations in a data storage process are provided. One or more computational elements are identified in the data storage process. An ordered structure of one or more nodes is generated using the one or more computational elements. Each of the one or more nodes represents one or more computational elements. Further, a weight is assigned to each of the one or more nodes. An ordered structure of one or more reusable nodes is generated by deleting one or more nodes in accordance with the assigned weights. The ordered structure of one or more reusable nodes is utilized to reduce the number of computations in the data storage process. The data storage process converts data from a first format into a second format, and stores the data in the second format on a computer readable medium for data analysis purposes.

An automated conversion of the source file content to a form compatible with a target file is performed based upon differences between the source file information and target file information in response to a paste operation.

Abstract: In integrated circuits design, a system performs the task for systematically locating geometric points, which contains particular features and registry labels. The application can parse the position data of all the labels into corresponding grouping, and then export the information of labels to pre-defined data fields. User may define macros to select the records they want, and, through an interface on the workstation, translate them into messages in particular format. The tool, upon receiving the messages, would follow the instructions to carry out the tasks at the word of command.

Abstract: A computer readable storage medium includes executable instructions to support the definition of an Extract Transform and Load (ETL) task. An evaluation of source table structures, source data change indicators, and target table structures is performed. The ETL task is converted to a delta load task in accordance with the evaluation.

Abstract: An apparatus and a method for transforming Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) messages is provided. The method comprises receiving and transmitting Extensible Markup Language (XML) format SOAP messages by using an application protocol and TCP/IP, a message comprising message elements and receiving and transmitting binary messages comprising binary message elements. A transformation is performed between an XML format message and a binary message by replacing (316-320) each message element of a given format with a message element in the other format. When transforming an XML message to binary format, the application protocol packet type and TCP/IP acknowledgement data are included (312) in the binary header. When transforming a binary format message to XML format, the application protocol packet type is selected on the basis of the information in the binary header of the binary format message.

Abstract: A computer program product is provided. The product comprises a computer usable medium having a computer readable program code embodied therein, the computer readable program code adapted to be executed to implement a method for converting between data objects constructed according to different software technologies. The method comprises providing a system comprising distinct software modules to perform the converting between data objects and processing a properties file to identify a first class associated with a first software technology based on a second class associated with a second software technology. The method also comprises analyzing the first class to identify a first attribute of the first class. The method also comprises constructing a first object of the first class and assigning a first value to the first attribute of the first object based on a second value of a second attribute of a second object of the second class.

Abstract: Received information from a set of information sources can be processed. The processing can convert the received information into a standardized form. An effect that the converted information has upon a set of scheduled events of a calendaring application can be determined based upon a set of configurable rules. One or more programmatic action relating to the scheduled events can be taken based upon the determined effect. Programmatic actions can include notifying a user associated with the effected scheduled event and automatically changing an attribute associated with the scheduled event within a database used by the calendaring application.

Abstract: A method for converting CIM MOF files from a first CIM implementation to a second CIM implementation includes receiving at least a first MOF file in a first format, and replacing at least a first parameter within the received file with a second parameter. The first format and first parameter are compatible with the first CIM implementation and the second parameter is associated with the second CIM implementation. The method further includes creating a transformed file based on the replacing, determining at least a first rule set associated with the second CIM implementation, and comparing the transformed file to the determined first rule set. Additionally, the method includes converting the transformed file to a second format based on the comparison, wherein the second format is compatible with the second CIM implementation.

Abstract: Provided are techniques for state information sharing. At least one of user information and browser information is stored in a first configuration file in a first file format associated with a first browser application. A change in at least one of the user information and the browser information in the first configuration file is recognized. The changed at least one of the user information and the browser information in the first file format is converted to a second file format associated with a second browser application. A second configuration file is updated with the changed at least one of the user information and the browser information in the second file format. In response to starting the second browser application, a user and browser state is set using the user information and the browser information in the second configuration file.

Abstract: An improved system and method for parallel retrieval of data from a distributed database is provided. A parallel interface may be provided for use by a cluster of client machine for parallel retrieval of partial results from parallel execution of a database query by a cluster of database servers storing a distributed database. A query interface may be augmented for inputting a database query and specifying the number of instances of parallel retrieval of results from query execution. To do so, a commercial query language may be augmented for sending a query request that may include a parameter specifying the database query and an additional parameter specifying the desired retrieval parallelism. The augmented query interface may return a list of retrieval point addresses for retrieving the partial results assigned to each of the retrieval point addresses from parallel execution of the database query.

Abstract: An analysis supporting apparatus includes a model-data generating unit that generates model data regarding an analysis model of an analysis target component in association with component hierarchy data representing a hierarchy of components forming an analysis target product; and a data converting unit that converts the model data generated by the model-data generating unit to generate analysis data for use in an analyzing process. When requested to generate model data of a component at a hierarchical level, the model-data generating unit refers to the component hierarchy data to specify a component at a hierarchical level higher or lower than the hierarchical level of the component, and uses model data of the specified component at the higher or lower hierarchical level to generate the requested model data.

Abstract: A method, apparatus, and program product manage data during a logical partition migration. Data from a source logical partition is transformed into partition state records by a source migration services partition. The records are transmitted to a target migration services partition that processes the records and loads the data into a target logical partition. The logical partition migration may take place from a first computer to a second computer, or solely in a first computer. The migration services partitions may be configured with multiple virtual processors to create and send, or receive and process, partition state records in parallel.
