An artistic intent is identified for each pixel of the image, where the artistic intent is constituted by chained application of one or more of the look algorithms. Information identifying the artistic intent for each pixel of the image is stored in a format that stores the artistic intent identification information together with the image data for each pixel of the image.

Note that the second set of editing instructions and classification information are generated by a group of individuals and include modifications and additions to the first set of editing instructions and classification information.

Abstract: A system for tagging multiple digital images includes an electronic device having a display for rendering digital images. An interface in the electronic device receives an input of an area of interest within one of the rendered images, and receives a selection of images from among the rendered images to be associated with the area of interest. An input device in the electronic device receives a tag input based on the area of interest to be applied to the associated images. In one embodiment, the input device is a keypad that receives a manual tag input. Alternatively, portions of the rendered images may be transmitted to a network server. The server may compare the image portions to a reference database to identify the subject matter of the image portions, and generate a plurality of suggested tags based on the subject matter.

Abstract: Content signal recognition is based on a multi-axis filtering of the content signal. The signatures are calculated, formed into data structures and organized in a database for quick searching and matching operations used in content recognition. For content recognition, signals are sampled and transformed into signatures using the multi axis filter. The database is searched to recognize the signals as part of a content item in the database. Using the content identification, content metadata is retrieved and provided for a variety of applications. In one application, the metadata is provided in response to a content identification request.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and products are disclosed for detecting and/or predicting maladies in humans and animals. Electronic copies of second order output are collected and compared to a symptoms database storing data ranges describing symptoms. When the second order output lies outside a data range, a symptom associated with the data range is retrieved. The onset of a malady associated with the symptom is then predicted.

Abstract: An ATM exception balancing system is disclosed. Embodiments of the invention provide a method of resolving image ATM transaction exceptions and enabling reconcilement of ATM transactions. An exception record can be created and stored for each batch of image ATM transactions wherein the credit and the debit for the batch of image ATM transactions do not match, and the exception record can be displayed to an analyst. Input can be received from the analyst indicating a resolution of an exception. Possible resolutions can include a general ledger entry, a customer adjustment, and/or an ICA/WIP entry. The system can optionally provide for reporting and performance analysis. Image ATM cash transactions, image ATM check transactions, or both, can be included.

Abstract: Implementations relate to systems and methods for real-time image recognition and mobile visual searching. A mobile device, such as a cellular phone, acquires an image and pre-processes the acquired image to generate a visual search query based on objects detected in the acquired image. The visual search query includes the acquired image or a query image extracted therefrom and metadata associated with the detected objects. The mobile device wirelessly communicates the visual search query to a remote server, and in response to the visual search query, the remote server recognizes an object in the query image based on the associated metadata. The remote server then generates information content based on the recognized object and communicates the information content to the mobile device to be presented via the mobile device.

A scale of the object may be determined by determining the absolute or relative magnitude of the object in comparison to a magnitude of surrounding objects such as the total magnitude of the illustration. An appropriate container shape and size for the object may be determined by searching for a container size with a scale similar to the scale of the object. The object may be stored in a database with the appropriate container shape, size and the scale being attributes.

Abstract: Method, apparatus and system for improving navigation using mobile devices by adding previously captured media to navigation maps provided by mobile device. Added media include still images and video clips. Media captured at the same location using various camera orientations are available in an image database. Images in database include metadata indicating location, orientation and other parameters associated with each image. User location and pose are matched against metadata indicating location and camera orientation of captured images. User motion may also be matched to metadata indicating camera motion of stored video clips. Other parameters like lighting, seasonal factors, and tasks of walking, biking or driving may also be matched. User pose may be derived from an accelerometer embedded in the mobile device. Some or all of user parameters desired by user may be directly input to mobile device by user instead of being automatically detected by mobile device.

Data describing a medical image study that is pending examination is obtained from a medical data server. The medical image study is assigned for examination by at least one of a plurality of users based on preferences associated with each of the users and a relative complexity value determined for the medical image study. Data describing the assignments is sent to a client. The client is configured to display at least one worklist. Each worklist is associated with a user and describes the one or more medical image studies that have been assigned to the user for examination.

A given partner may tailor the particular garment offering to subscribers based on a profile relating to the garment parameters contained within the database inventory. Applications within the system produce outfits composed of garment selections based on particular user profile information. Outfits selections are presented to the user through a web browser where shopping and purchasing of various garments may be conducted. The computer implemented method is facilitated through databases, database servers, application servers and networks to interrelate inventory offerings between the partners.

Various exemplary techniques may be used to provide audio and/or visual substitution options in a derivative version of the media work in accordance with applicable alteration guidelines.

Abstract: The present invention provides an image display apparatus and an image display method adapted for the apparatus. The apparatus stores a plurality of image files and metadata of each of the image files, and provides current timestamp. The metadata for each image includes an upload timestamp, a last-displayed timestamp, and a weighted value. A load-timestamp period is a time difference between the current timestamp and the upload timestamp. A not-displayed timestamp period is also a difference in time between the current timestamp and the last-displayed timestamp. The weighted value is calculated according to the load-timestamp period and the not-displayed timestamp period. The apparatus displays selected image files in accordance with the weighted values of the selected image files in an order. The present invention also provides a method of displaying image files adapted for the image display apparatus.

Abstract: A hybrid annotation and publication system is disclosed that can access content in a scalable manner from databases, allow for its editing and publication via wiki-style programs, while at the same time allowing for peer-review of such content via peer-review programs. This system balances the wiki-style programs, the peer-review programs, and any database store accesses in a manner appropriate to the need at hand according to various heuristics. For instance, the system can be accessed via a web browser, and data provided from various databases can be edited. Such data can be stored in the system in a hierarchical manner. Once the content is annotated, it can be reviewed (at various levels, ranging from expert to novice). Upon review, such content can be published using the wiki programs, so that the content is ready for public and/or private consumption.

Abstract: The present invention provides a quality assurance system and method that generates a quality assurance (QA) scorecard for patients that use digital devices in a radiological-based medical imaging study. According to one embodiment, client computers, servers, imaging devices, databases, and/or other components may be coupled to provide a unified data collection system. According to one embodiment, systems and methods are provided that analyze various parameters that are derived from the unified data collection system to calculate a QA score for the patient. The QA score provides a combined subjective and objective feedback system that includes performance evaluations from other users, including clinicians, radiologists, technologists and administrators. According to one embodiment, the feedback may be provided in real-time.

When an image sort-out button is pressed, an event delimiter file is recorded behind the latest image file, separate those image files recorded before the event delimiter file from image files recorded thereafter. Thus, image files recorded between one event delimiter file and a next event delimiter file are sorted into a group. Information on a group of image files delimited by the event delimiter file, including the date and time of shooting and GPS information, are read out from tag information of the respective image files, and recorded in the event delimiter file. When the memory card is set in a personal computer that is pre-installed with a specific software program, the event delimiter file is detected one after another, to display all images of the same group in a matrix on a screen.

Abstract: Archival storage and retrieval of audio/video information is described. Audio and/or video information is digitized, compressed and stored in an intermediate archive format (IAF), which preserves the content at a high-enough quality for subsequent retrieval and conversion into various formats required at the time of use or distribution. A single capture operation is performed with ancillary metadata being added to facilitate subsequent searching, indexing and format conversion. Captured data content is catalogued and indexed at or subsequent to the creation of an IAF file that includes the archived information. The IAF includes a family of audio-video digital encoding formats based on public standards. The encoding format used in any particular application is determined at encoding time from information provided by the archive system user. At encoding, the particular encoding scheme is selected to optimize a tradeoff between storage constraints and end use quality requirements.
