Abstract: Systems and methods for a generic data model for the representation of an arbitrarily complex environment are disclosed. These systems and methods allow the representation of any logical or physical entity and the associations and dependencies between these entities. Components may be used to represent the entities while relationships may be used to represent the associations and dependencies between the entities. A typing system may be utilized in conjunction with a generic data model to define a hierarchy of components and relationships for use with a particular category of environments. The data structures associated with a generic data model may be stored utilizing a table schema which does not change with the addition of new data structures or types of data structures. Applied data models created from these generic data models may be searched utilizing a query language which allows efficient searching of the applied data model, and structuring of the concomitant results.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and other embodiments associated with an artifact type neutral container are described. This artifact type neutral container is achieved through an artifact type neutral architecture that is managed using a central type neutral registration mechanism. Queries are executed on type neutral registration tables to return data stores that store the artifacts found within a given artifact type neutral container. The data stores are queried to return the artifacts in the artifact type neutral container. The artifact type neutral container can be used in systems in which the artifact type neutral container and artifact data are stored in the same database as well as in systems in which the artifact type neutral container and artifact data are stored in different databases.

Abstract: A system and method for identifying graphical model semantics, one aspect, receive a graphical diagram, associate each of a plurality of elements with one or more predetermined meta-types, identify a plurality of types in the graphical diagram, and determine a category for each of elements in said graphical diagram. Containment identification rules identify one or more containment relationships in the graphical diagram. Multiplicity identification rules identify multiplicity relationships in the graphical diagram. Advanced semantic rules identify visual elements that represent attributes and refine relationships to identify unique behavior.

Abstract: According to one aspect of the present disclosure a method and technique for predictive modeling of customer behavior is disclosed. The method includes receiving customer data from a plurality on non-affiliated vendor properties, anonymizing at least a portion of the received customer data and merging the anonymized customer data from each vendor property into a consortium database, and generating at least one predictive model of at least one behavior variable associated with at least one customer represented in the consortium database, the predictive model enabling identification of at least one stimuli likely to affect a desired response by the customer based on the predictive model.

Abstract: A tagged content inference system and method is provided. The system facilitates browsing of content with a pseudo-hierarchical feel using algorithmically-deduced relationships between items based on user applied tags. Based, at least in part, upon tagged content, an inference component can infer relationships between items (e.g., creating a pseudo-hierarchy) in order to facilitate browsing of the items. The system can further include a relationship display component that can provide a visual representation of tagged items based on relationship(s) inferred by the inference component. The visual representation can further be based, at least in part, upon user input (e.g., threshold quantity of tags to be displayed, threshold strength of relationship, color setting(s), etc.

Abstract: Methods and system for item clustering are described. In one embodiment, compatibility data may be accessed for an item. The compatibility data may include a plurality of parent items with which the item is compatible. A particular parent item within the compatibility data may be identified. An item cluster for the item and an additional item may be created based on compatibility of the item and the additional item with the particular parent item within the compatibility data. A compatibility identifier may be associated with the item cluster. The compatibility identifier may be associated with the parent item. Additional methods and systems are disclosed.

Abstract: A system for managing execution of actions corresponding to service configuration items in accordance with embodiments of the invention may include a discovery section for discovering information regarding a configuration item, and a repository for storing a set of data for each configuration item. The set of data may indicate at least one predetermined attribute of the configuration item, and a relation between the configuration item and other configuration items. An associating section may associate a service configuration item with one or more other configuration items that are objects of actions corresponding to the service configuration item. Finally, a determining section may determine whether execution of an action corresponding to a service configuration item is allowed.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a computer implemented method and system for processing metadata associated with alphanumeric data along with the alphanumeric data for tracking effect of operations on the metadata in a data model. Multiple mixed data objects are created in the data model. Each of the created mixed data objects comprises the alphanumeric data and the metadata. The created mixed data objects are stored with information about interrelationships between the created mixed data objects. Multiple operations are performed on the stored mixed data objects to obtain mixed data results. The operations are performed simultaneously on the alphanumeric data and the metadata. The mixed data results comprise results of the operations performed on the alphanumeric data and the metadata. The data model is updated with the obtained mixed data results. The simultaneous operations performed on the alphanumeric data and the metadata enable tracking the effect of the operations on the metadata.

Abstract: A social network model, based on data relevant to a user, is used for semantic processing to enable improved entity recognition among text accessed by the user. An entity extraction module of the server, with reference to a general training corpus, general gazetteers, user-specific gazetteers, and entity models, parses text to identify entities. The entities may be, for example, people, organizations, or locations. A social network module of the server builds the social network model implicit in the data accessed by the user. The social network model includes the relationships between entities and an indication of the strength of each relationship. The social network module is also used to disambiguate names and unify entities based on the social network model.

Abstract: A method for ordering telemetry messages containing attributes individually not sufficient to establish total ordering is provided. An initial rank value is assigned for a first telemetry message. For a subsequent telemetry message, it is determined if an attribute of the subsequent telemetry message indicates an ordering of the subsequent telemetry message with respect to the first telemetry message. If the attribute indicates the ordering of the subsequent telemetry message, a subsequent rank value is assigned to the subsequent telemetry message one higher than a highest rank value already assigned, otherwise a correct slot of the subsequent message is determined by minimizing a distance from an S slot corresponding to the highest rank value already assigned to a first non-empty slot by application of a Lazy Walker algorithm.

Abstract: Systems and methods that enable relationship information to be carried along with the entity when serializing/deserializing entities among application tiers. A tracking component tracks information on relationships associated with an entity, and further enables users to perform subsequent change processing on the entity's relationship information. Accordingly, relationship information can be carried along with the entity such that database operation can be performed without requirement of additional information from the database (e.g., foreign key information that is part of associated graphs).

Abstract: Various technologies and techniques are disclosed for a navigation based design tool. Relationships between artifacts that are managed by a design tool are accessed. An initial view of the design tool is displayed with a default page showing categories of the artifacts based upon the relationships. A user can navigate page by page through a plurality of pages to manage one or more of the artifacts. The page by page navigation is enabled by using the relationships between the artifacts. As the user navigates page by page through the pages, a navigation history is displayed to illustrate a history of the pages that have been accessed.

Abstract: Computer configurations, search processors (2), software, and methods of viewing and analyzing information regarding agriculture or land use automatically located relationally-linked agronomic entities with both real (18) and virtual (8) displays. Relational linking exist through broad assessment of commonality information with fuzzy logic heuristics. Dynamic link presentation (6) can exist with congregated and hierarchical information displays (29) such as at the farm level, at a location level, at a physically aggregated parcel level with hierarchical display of farms or agronomic entity ownership, management, organization, and crop usages that afford users an unprecedented series of views into the businesses of land use, food production, and resource conservation. A meta-syntactic agronomic information generator (31) can facilitate imputed information through the integration of multiple databases (32).

Abstract: A job posting method, system, and storage device which allows users to create one or more talent networks each containing one or more connections, create job postings that trickle down to other users according to a set of rules, a referral system for rewarding users who recommend candidates for the job postings, and a recommendation system which allows both job posters and job seekers to have the system recommend potential candidates or jobs, as the case may be.

Abstract: An enterprise information system consists of two fundamental components—the data and the business logic. Relational databases can provide a stable, clear and robust implementation of transactions with ACID properties and a declarative query language (SQL) for managing data and are at the core of modern enterprise computing. But modern programming languages like Java—a compiled language, and Javascript—a scriptable language, provide a much better environment for implementing complex business logic. Object Relational Mapping (ORM) tools provide a bridge between the relational environment and the object environment, so that data can be persisted in a relational data model and business logic can be encoded using objects. An extension to the standard ORM is provided to allow an application written in an object oriented language to deal with the information it manipulates in terms of objects, rather than in terms of database-specific concepts such as rows, columns and tables.

Abstract: A method and system for enhancing a virtual world application to facilitate social networking between users are disclosed. The system detects a trigger condition within the virtual world application, and in response to detecting the trigger condition, searches one or more real world social networking application relationship databases for real world social network relationships between a first user of the virtual world application and at least one other user of the virtual world application. Based on the results of the searching performed on the social networking application relationship databases, the disclosed system displays alerts containing real world social network information describing real world social networks connecting the first user and one or more other users of the virtual world application that were detected by the searching.

In such embodiments, multiple icons on an axis between two entities are used to indicate that the entities have multiple relationships. Disclosed embodiments also provide methods of navigating, filtering, and manipulating the display of networked relationships, according to the numerical distribution of relationships and specific combinations of relationships. Disclosed embodiments provide methods of manipulating the display of networked relationships so that relationships between entities can be visually collapsed, and entities can be treated as links between other entities for the purposes of filtering and display.

Conversations are arranged to reference messages, to have properties and an existence of their own, and present messages to a user reflecting the relationships between the messages as part of a conversation. Emails aggregated under a conversation may be assigned conversation related attributes in addition to the distinct attributes of the conversation itself. Conversations may be processed specially based on their characteristics such as being muted, branched into sub-conversations, and the like.

Abstract: A method, computer program product, and data processing system for modifying attributes of GUI components without invasive code modification are disclosed. In a preferred embodiment, a set of attributes for GUI components is loaded into memory from persistent storage, such as a file. A root container component forming the root of a hierarchy of components defined by a containment relation is identified and passed as a parameter to a routine that traverses the hierarchy so as to visit each GUI component. As each GUI component is visited, if one or more attributes from the aforementioned set of attributes are found to be applicable to the visited GUI component, the GUI component's attributes are modified to comport with the set of attributes.

The method comprises the steps of: obtaining a first object and a second object, the first and second objects having a first profile and a second profile, each composed of a plurality of attributes, respectively; normalizing the first profile and the second profile with reference to ontology information; and calculating, based on the normalized first and second profiles, a competitiveness metric between the first and second objects. Abstract: The disclosed methods, systems, and computer-program products allow a business to estimate linking errors in customer relationships in a database and to identify metrics that improve the linking accuracy. In an embodiment, a plurality of sample customer relationships are selected from a database to form a sample data set that is statistically representative of the database. Potential linking errors are then identified within the sample data set. The identified potential linking errors are then validated to identify actual linking errors in the sample data set. Once validated, the actual linking errors within the sample data set are used to estimate linking errors within the database. Further, the estimated linking errors in the database may be analyzed to identify one or more factors that contribute to the linking errors.

Abstract: A bioinformatics method, software, database and system for predicting side effects resulting from predisposition modification are presented in which a set of attributes is used to modify an individual's attribute profile to generate a modified attribute profile. The modified attribute profile is compared against a predetermined set of attribute combinations that are statistically associated with one or more candidate side effect attributes. Attribute combinations from the set that also occur in the modified attribute profile are identified, and those candidate side effect attributes that are statistically associated with the identified attribute combinations are stored as a set of predicted side effect attributes resulting from modification of the individual's attribute profile.

Abstract: An apparatus, method and computer program product are provided to generate a playlist or other sequential list of media items in a game-like manner. A starting media item and a target media item may be initially selected. The system recommends a plurality of media items based on the starting media item. The user selects a media item from these recommendations. The system then recommends another plurality of media items based on the user-selected media item. The user then selects a media item from these recommendations. This process continues until the system recommends and the user selects the target media item. The user generally desires to minimize the steps required to traverse a media collection from the starting media item to the target media item. The path that the user takes to reach the target media item can be stored as a playlist or other sequential list of media items.

Responsive to initiation of the business process, the staff activity is resolved at the access control system at runtime by assigning the staff activity to a user based on an access policy of the access control system to form a staff activity assignment. The staff activity assignment is communicated from the access control system to the process server. The process allows the development of the business process to be entirely decoupled from staff activity resolution at runtime.
