  • Patent number: 11588793
Abstract: A system and method for dynamic geospatially-referenced cyber-physical infrastructure inventory and asset management using state models, wherein a computing device with a geolocation device and wireless networking capability is attached to each of a plurality of physical assets, and used to periodically determine a state of the physical asset to which it is attached using the geolocation device, periodically generate a status update message and send it to a remote computer, and wherein the remote computer stores the status of the physical asset as time series data in a state model and, if a status message is not received in a defined period of time, applies a machine learning algorithm to the state model to predict a current or future state of that particular physical asset.

  • Patent number: 9977835
Abstract: Computer-readable media, computer systems, and computing devices for initiating a queryless search is provided. In this regard, a search can be initiated without a user inputting a query. In one embodiment, the method includes recognizing a search indication provided by a user to indicate a desire to view one or more search results related to content being presented. Such a search indication can be performed without accessing a web page associated with a search engine. In accordance with the search indication, contextual information related to the content being presented can be automatically captured. Thereafter, the captured contextual information is provided to initiate a search for information corresponding with the contextual information. Search results corresponding with the contextual information are received and presented.

  • Patent number: 9977833
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a graphical user interface (GUI) for filtering items of interest. In various embodiments, the GUI may be implemented as a method on a hardware-based system such as a computer server or other computing device. In one embodiment, the method includes defining a library of available criteria to be used in filtering a population of items for an end-user to identify items of interest. Each of the available criteria has a graphical representation. A GUI is presented to the end-user of the filtering criteria for constructing a graphical filter builder. An indication is received of each of the selected set of criteria from the end-user to construct and display a graphical representation of the filter. A query is constructed to identify the items of interest using the selected set of criteria. The identified items of interest are generated and displayed to the end-user.

  • Patent number: 9727628
Abstract: In a particular embodiment, a method includes sending a text string from a source device to a destination device. The destination device includes a unique identifier repository having a plurality of globally unique identifiers mapped text strings, relationship data defining associations between the plurality of globally unique identifiers, and meta-data related to the text string. Each of the plurality of globally unique identifiers includes a data value that is shared by a plurality of data sources as an identifier associated with information related to the text string. The method further includes receiving data including one or more globally unique identifiers, associated relationship data, and associated meta-data from the destination device at the source device in response to sending the text string. Additionally, the method includes storing the received data at a memory of the source device for use in searching and relating search results received from multiple data sources.

  • Patent number: 8577911
Abstract: Systems, software, and computer-implemented methods can be used to present search results and search refinement suggestions identified in response to a search query using a search refinement wheel. In response to receiving a search query, a set of suggested query refinements are obtained. A spoke graph structure processable to present a visual representation of the search query and at least a portion of the set of the at least one search query refinements is generated, where the search query is represented by a first node in the visual representation and each of the portion of the set of the search query refinements is represented by an individual spoke in the visual representation that can be activated to generate a corresponding new search query. The generated graph can be provided in response to the search query, e.g., to a client device from which the search query is received.

  • Patent number: 7861149
Abstract: Computer-readable media having computer-executable instructions and apparatuses provide a keyphrase navigation map (KNM) for a document page. Keyphrases are extracted from the document page. Keyphrase clusters are subsequently formed by a measure of relevancy, and a salient keyphrase is determined for each cluster. A thumbnail is formed with tags corresponding to the salient keyphrases. A selected tag is expanded with associated keyphrases. An associated keyphrase may be further selected in order to facilitate the navigation of the document page. The displayed tags on the thumbnail are positioned in accordance with locations of associated keyphrases in the document page.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide techniques for processing a database query that allows data values for attributes of a child database record to be inherited from an associated parent record. A hierarchical query function may automatically determine the inheritance of attribute values in queries of hierarchical data. In the case that a query does not retrieve values for all attributes specified in the query, the missing attribute values are determined from higher levels of the hierarchy.
