Abstract: A computer may provide, in a rendered and displayed browser, access to a cloud services related portal. Access may also be provided to a dynamic graphical widget in the portal. The dynamic graphical widget may be related to a cloud service and be customizable via the browser. The computer may receive a user input to cause movement of the dynamic graphical widget from a docked to undocked displayed position in the browser.

Abstract: In some embodiments, a method is provided that includes (1) prompting a user to identify news content to be filtered; (2) generating filter rules based on the content to be filtered identified by the user; (3) populating a rules database based on the filter rules; (4) retrieving news content from a news server over the internet; (5) filtering the news content based on the filter rules within the rules database; and (6) providing the filtered news content to the user on a mobile device of the user. Numerous other embodiments are provided.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method for forming a webpage, a peripheral apparatus, and a system. The method includes: when a webpage forming request sent by a client is received, acquiring, from the client, language information for forming a webpage; and sending webpage data to the client according to the language information and a preset webpage description file, so that the client displays, on the client according to the webpage data, a webpage formed by adopting the language information. According to the webpage forming method, peripheral apparatus, and system in these embodiments, after receiving a webpage forming request from a client, the peripheral apparatus acquires language information for forming a webpage form the client, and sends webpage data to the client according to the language information, so that a language adopted for a webpage displayed by the client meets a user's habits, thereby facilitating the user.

Abstract: An online social network is managed using one server for database management tasks and another server, preferably in a distributed configuration, for CPU-intensive computational tasks, such as finding a shortest path between two members or a degree of separation between two members. The additional server has a memory device containing relationship information between members of the online social network and carries out the CPU-intensive computational tasks using this memory device. With this configuration, the number of database lookups is decreased and processing speed is thereby increased.

Abstract: As may be implemented in accordance with one or more embodiments, media content from disparate content providers is restructured into one or more renditions having an article-oriented structure. Linking data is generated to link respective portions of each rendition with media content in the respective sets of media content. Users are allowed to access information characterizing the renditions in the article-oriented structure, and user inputs pertaining to the information characterizing the media content sets is collected. Portions of each rendition are transmitted to remote users based on the user inputs, authorization data, linking data and characteristics of the remote users' access.

Abstract: As may be implemented in accordance with one or more embodiments, respective sets of media content data, having disparate formats, are received from disparate content providers. The content is reformatted into a common format type and restructured into renditions having an article-oriented structure. Reformatted assets are generated for each rendition based upon characteristics of devices by which the renditions are to be accessed. Device-indeterminate ID linking data is generated for linking portions of each rendition with the media content data received from the content providers.

Abstract: As may be implemented in accordance with one or more embodiments, aspects of the present disclosure are directed to methods and apparatuses involving the presentation of media content as follows. Different types of media content data having disparate formats and corresponding to respective sets of media content received from disparate content providers, are reformatted into media content data in a common format type. Analytics data providing information characterizing a plurality of users is accessed and utilized in restructuring portions of the media content data in the common format type into renditions having an article-oriented structure defined by the common format type. In various implementations, device-indeterminate ID linking data is generated, which links respective portions of each rendition with corresponding portions of the media content data from which the respective portions were generated.

Abstract: As may be implemented in accordance with one or more embodiments, portions of media content data corresponding to respective sets of media content received from disparate content providers are restructured into renditions having an article-oriented structure. Device-indeterminate ID linking data is generated to link respective portions of each rendition with media content in the respective sets of media content. For each content provider, access is provided to portions of the restructured renditions bearing the content provider's content, based on the device-indeterminate ID linking data (e.g., providing verification of resulting content layout). Abstract: The disclosed embodiments provide a system that facilitates the development and testing of a software program. During operation, the system receives and stores a plurality of defect reports associated with a software program, wherein each defect report documents a previously discovered defect in the software program. In response to detecting a given test failure of the software program while testing the software program in a test environment, the system then eliminates, based on attributes of the test environment that are selected by the defect reports, one or more of the defect reports from the plurality of defect reports, wherein at least one of the selected attributes is retrieved from the test environment during the determination by invoking a provider script that is specified by one of the defect reports. Next, the system associates the test failure with a defect report that remains after the one or more eliminations.

Abstract: A method and apparatus of a device for security management by sandboxing third-party components is described. The device can determine whether a third-party component supports network access. If the third-party component supports network access, the device can request a user input regarding whether to restrict the network access of the component. The device can receive a user input to restrict network access of the third-party component. Upon receiving the user input to restrict network access, the device can construct a sandbox for the third-party component to restrict network access of the component and prevent the component from performing data exfiltration. Other embodiments are also described and claimed.

Abstract: A globalization management system for managing resources of multiple interrelated data sources corresponding to a plurality of sites through a communications network is provided. The system includes a plurality of target application interfaces respectively coupled to the interrelated data sources through the network. Each interface includes systems for converting a protocol of the respective data source to a predetermined protocol, and the predetermined protocol to the protocol of the respective data source. The system further includes a global management engine coupled to the plurality of target application interfaces. The engine includes a site-to-site relationship manager, a system for reading current content data from the interrelated data sources, a system for comparing the current content data with prior content data, and a project manager for transferring the data identified as a content change to at least one subscriber site.

Abstract: One or more techniques and/or systems are provided for defining a message behavior profile for a sender, which may be used to categorize messages from the sender. A message behavior profile may be defined based upon, for example, message distribution behavior of the sender (e.g., volume, frequency, variance in content amongst messages sent to recipients, etc.); recipient interactions with messages from the sender (e.g., message read rates, message response rates, etc.); unsubscription options comprised within messages from the sender; and/or other factors. In this way, the message behavior profile and/or features extracted from a message may be used to categorize a message from the sender (e.g., newsletter, commercial advertisements, alert, social network etc.). Categorized messages may be organized into folders, displayed or hidden within views, and/or processed based upon their respective categorizations.

Abstract: Various embodiments synchronize comments in a source code file with text of a source code document. In one embodiment, a source code document is compared to a corresponding source code file. The source code document comprises a set of text corresponding to a set of source code comment text in the corresponding source code file. The source code document is configured to display the set of text in a stylized format when presented to a user. The set of text in the source code document is determined to be different than the set of source code comment text in the source code file based on the comparison. At least the set of source code comment text in the source code file is automatically changed based on the set of text from the source code document and in response to the determination.

Abstract: A resource set comprising a set of resources may be provided to the public. It may be desirable to associate with the resources a set of public names, such as friendly URLs that may be more memorable, may indicate to users the type of resource so named, and may promote indexing of the resources by search engines. A name hierarchy (such as a portion of a file system) may store at least one reference that associates a public name with a resource. A name hierarchy navigation logic may facilitate navigation through the name hierarchy, and may specify a particular location within the name hierarchy where a reference associated with the public name is to be stored. This manner of associating public names with resources may promote the scalability and efficiency in associating public names with resources and in retrieving a resource associated with a particular public name.

Abstract: Techniques are provided for selectively broadcasting information from a sender's computer to one or more recipient computers in real-time. A user connects to a networked content server and browses selected content items which are determined to be of interest to other collaborators. The user activates a content sharing mode and indicates which content is to be shared. A reference to the shared content is sent to the server which in turn pushes the referenced content to identified content recipients. Content recipients can be identified based on a variety of factors, such as by subscription to a listening channel opened by the content sender, by individual selection by the content sender, and/or by geolocation. The shared content can be automatically displayed to each identified content recipient non-intrusively. Content can be pushed to the content recipients via a persistent open communication channel established between the content server and content recipients.

Abstract: A first device may request that multimedia content be made available on a second device. The first device may send the request to a server. The server mat notify the second device of the multimedia content. Based on how quickly the server receives a request, from the second device, for the content, the server mat determine how to ingest the multimedia content from a content source. The server mat ingest the multimedia content in full or in part prior to sending the multimedia content to the second device.

Abstract: Techniques for determining age-content type appropriate ratings for a media on behalf of a user may be provided. For example, information about age-content type appropriate ratings for a plurality of media works may be maintained where the information is associated with a particular user. A determination of whether the particular user has consumed a media work in response to receiving an indication that a user is browsing to the media work in a user interface may be provided. A group that the user belongs to may be identified based on other users that have specified age-content type appropriate ratings for the plurality of media works that are within a range of ratings provided by the user for the plurality of media works. Age-content appropriate ratings for the media work may be determined for the particular user based on an algorithm using the information and the ratings specified by the group.

Abstract: When a browsing computer navigates to a network document, such as a web page, the corresponding server also downloads computer readable formatting information necessary for the operating system of the browsing computer to render correctly any characters within the network document even if the fonts associated with those characters do not exist on the browsing computer prior to encountering the network document. An exposure module is also downloaded to the browsing computer. The exposure module is loaded onto the browsing computer, which in turn either permanently installs or temporarily exposes the operating system of the browsing computer to the computer readable font formatting information associated with the network document. As a result, the operating system of the browsing computer is able to display or otherwise process the network document correctly and consistently regardless of the computer readable fonts installed on the browsing computer.

Abstract: An approach is provided for proxy-based content discovery and delivery. A proxy platform determines access information with respect to one or more web resources. The access information associated with a client of a proxy server. The proxy platform processes and/or facilitates a processing of the access information to determine a frequency of access of the one or more web resources via the proxy server. The proxy platform then determines to initiate a caching of at least a portion of the one or more web resources at the client based, at least in part, on the frequency of access.

Abstract: A server dynamically provides fonts to a user device. The user device is provided with access to a document via a network. An update to a language parameter associated with the document is detected. Fonts associated with the update to the language parameter are determined. It is determined at least one of the fonts is not available on the user device. The at least one of the fonts is provided to the user device.

An embodiment includes detecting an intent to copy a selected region of a web content area displayed in a web browser, drawing an image representing the selected region into an image canvas, storing the image in the DOM of the displayed web content area as referenced by a browser image element while the web content area is displayed in the web browser, and changing a browser selection range to point to the DOM storing the image representing the selected region, wherein the image is embedded into at least one content area distinct from the web content area.

The computing device includes first circuitry having a processor and a memory and providing general-purpose computing capability. The computing device also includes second circuitry configured to generate a one-time password. The first circuitry is incapable of determining the one-time password due to a separation from the second circuitry, and the first and second circuitry may be in a single enclosure.

Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods for delivery of information to a mobile computing device. A remote computing device detects the occurrence of a first user event that precedes an associated second user event. The remote computing device identifies information corresponding to the associated second user event. The remote computing device determines a first priority of the information associated with the second user event and a second priority of a second information associated with the second user event. The remote computing device determines that the first priority is higher than the second priority. In response to detecting the occurrence of the first user event, the remote computing device transmits, to a mobile computing device, the information having the first priority before transmitting the second information having the second priority.

Abstract: Systems and methods presented herein provide for countering functionality on a UE that prevents the UE from requesting asset insertion into COD content. An ADS evaluates and ranks a plurality of assets for insertion into the selected COD content. A request manager determines that the UE is blocking a request for asset insertion into COD content selected by the UE, and generates a message for the UE requesting payload delivery information for the selected COD content based on the determination. The message circumvents the blocking and directs the UE to request asset insertion. The request manager processes a response from the UE for the payload delivery information, extracts a request for asset insertion from the response, directs the ADS to select a first of the assets based on the ranking, and directs the remote COD provider to insert the first asset with the selected COD content.

Abstract: A system transfers interface documents for a web service, such as WSDL or WADL documents. The documents include a service document and one or more reference definition documents. The system parses the service document to extract the location of the reference definition documents. The system moves the service document to a temporary storage location, and moves the reference definition documents to the temporary storage location. The system then, for each document that references one of the reference definition documents, modifies its location value to the temporary storage location.

Abstract: System, method, and computer program product to perform an operation to obfuscate search queries via broadened subqueries and recombining, by referencing an ontology to identify a set of generalized terms corresponding to at least one term of a received query, generating a plurality of subqueries based on the received query and the set of generalized terms, executing each of the plurality of subqueries to retrieve a result set for each respective subquery, and filtering the result sets using the received query to produce a result set responsive to the received query.

An alert is generated when it is determined that the compared at least one portion of the string file matches an entry in the database of sensitive words/phrases. The generated alert is superimposed on a display device of the computer system.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed to determine an expected or predicted opinion of a target individual. To do so, a deep question answer system may build a corpus which includes a first collection of documents attributable to a first person and a second collection of documents identified from content in the first collection of documents and evaluate the corpus to build a model representing opinions of the first person relative to topics, concepts, or subjects discussed in the first and second collections of documents. The deep question answer system may also receive a request to predict an opinion of the first person regarding a topic and generate a predicted opinion of the first person regarding the topic from the model.

Abstract: The disclosed computer-implemented method for controlling content for child browser users may include (1) identifying one or more indicators that a browser session user is a child, (2) calculating a session score indicating a likelihood that the browser session user is a child, (3) determining, based at least in part on the session score being above a threshold, that the browser session user is a child and therefore content controls should apply to a browser session of the child, and (4) initiating one or more content control actions. Abstract: A solution that improves a user's experience while surfing the Internet. An intermediate device resides logically between a browsing device and content available via the Internet. As responses to content requests from browsing devices are received from a content server, browser links are identified and modified, disabled or covered for example. The intermediate device also creates a browser link to a compound browser object(s) that is created and stored at the intermediate device. This created browser link invokes code at the intermediate device to upload the compound browser object(s). The intermediate device obtains these compound browser objects by obtaining content associated with the identified browser links either from a content server, a local cache or knowledge of its existence eat the browser device.

Abstract: Images of an environment that are captured from two or more imaging devices may be captured and evaluated in order to identify a state of the environment, or an interaction that placed the environment in the state. The content of the images may be analyzed in order to recognize observed information or data expressed therein. The information or data may be associated with a given state according to one or more observation functions, and the state may be used to identify an action according to one or more transition functions. The observation function uses conditional probabilities to transfer the probability of making an observation by one imaging device to the observation made by the other imaging device. The observation functions and the transition functions may be derived based on historical training data including clips that are labeled to identify states or interactions expressed therein.

Abstract: The present invention relates to data analysis for evaluating a plurality of pieces of object data; and the evaluation corresponds to the relation between each piece of object data and a specified case. An index that enables ranking of the plurality of pieces of object data is generated by the evaluation and the index changes based on an input entered by a user. A pattern is extracted that characterizes the reference data from the reference data according to the classification information assigned by the input. The index is determined by evaluating the relation between the object data and the specified case based on the extracted pattern and set to the object data. The plurality of pieces of object data are ranked according to the index and reported the user.

Abstract: A system includes a processor and a non-transitory computer readable medium storing instructions translatable by the processor. The instructions when translated by the processor cause the system to determine an exemplar reference which identifies a managed object stored in a repository residing in an enterprise computing environment. The system can determine a translation group utilizing the exemplar reference. The managed object may represent a content item. The translation group may include the content item and the content item may be multilingual enabled. The system can determine an effective locale for a request for content received from a client device communicatively connected to a web server in the enterprise computing environment, determine a language that is appropriate for the effective locale, and respond to the request for content with the content item or a translation of the content item that is in the language appropriate for the effective locale.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention are generally directed towards systems and methods for generating and streaming live content. Specifically, embodiments of the present invention provide systems and methods for recording and encoding content on a single system prior to transmitting the encoded content to a content delivery network (CDN) via a network for consumption by remote end users. Further embodiments of the present invention are configured to allow for the provision of multiple encoded content streams, wherein the content streams are provided to users based on subscription type, with certain subscription types receiving varying content types (e.g., advertisements, premium content) based on the subscription type.

Abstract: Systems and methods for presenting a content summary of a media item to a user based on a position within the media item are disclosed herein. According to an aspect, a method may include receiving identification of a position within a media item residing on an electronic device. For example, the identified position may be a bookmarked position within an e-book residing on an e-book reader. The method may also include generating a content summary for a portion of the media item based on the identified position. For example, an electronic device may dynamically generate a content summary based on content of the e-book that precedes a bookmarked position. The method may also include presenting the content summary to a user of the electronic device. For example, a display of an electronic device may be controlled to present a content summary to a reader of an e-book.

Abstract: A dataset is searched using inclusion set criteria to produce an inclusion set and exclusion set criteria to produce an exclusion set. A set of unique content elements is identified from the inclusion set and the exclusion set. Metrics are derived from the inclusion set, exclusion set, and set of unique content elements, such as a measure, for each unique content element, of the absolute value of the difference between the percentage of records in the inclusion set containing the unique content element and the percentage of records in the exclusion set containing the unique content element. The unique content element set may be sorted and displayed in decreasing order of the above-referenced absolute value. The content element set may be filtered. Individual content elements may be excluded from the content set. A predictive model may be generated based on the resulting version of the content element set.

Abstract: A system that incorporates teachings of the subject disclosure may include, for example, receiving, prior to entering a screensaver mode of operation, a search criteria identifying a requested subject matter, wherein the search criteria is based on a last user-initiated search query to a web-based search engine. In response to entering the screensaver mode, the search criteria identifying the requested subject matter is automatically transmitted to a web browser. Image content referenced by a set of uniform resource locators based upon the search criteria is sequentially presented. In response to receiving user input, a user-selectable region is presented comprising a selectable element superimposed on the first image. Selection of the element causes a defined action generating an e-mail message having an attachment with content referenced by a link associated with the first image. Receiving user input from a second input device ceases presenting of the image. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Abstract: In some implementations, a computer system for obfuscating text in an electronic document can include an analysis module, a font data repository, a re-coding module, and a data interface. The analysis module is operable to identify strings of text from an electronic document. The font data repository can include one or more character maps that correlate, for each character map in the one or more character maps, a first set of characters with a respective different second set of characters. The re-coding module can generate a re-coded document by re-mapping, using a particular one of the one or more character maps, the identified strings of text into corresponding obfuscated strings of text, and by replacing the identified strings of text with the corresponding obfuscated strings of text from the electronic document. The data interface can transmit the re-coded document to a client computing device.

In one aspect of the invention, a method to retrieve a resource for a digital processing system includes; receiving a request for a resource; downloading a first version of the resource from a server through a network connection to satisfy the request if the first version of the resource is retrievable through the network connection; and loading a second version of the resource from a storage device of the digital processing system if the first version of the resource is not retrievable through a network connection. In one example, downloading the first version is performed in response to a determination that the first version of the resource is different from a second version of the resource on a storage device of the digital processing system.

A first content item is selected for presentation in the first content item slot based on terms that correspond to a first topic of the first portion of the resource.
