Abstract: Systems and methods are described for providing an interface and facilitating selection of sponsored content networks that provide sponsored content items. This may include providing, by a mediation server, a user interface to a publisher server, the user interface configured to provide access to data stored on the mediation server; receiving a metric associated with a rule for filtering content items associated with the publisher; applying the metric to a content network list associated with the publisher using the user interface to generate an updated content network list; and transmitting mediation code including the updated content network list to the publisher server, wherein the mediation code, when executed by a user device, (i) causes the user device to control display of content items according to the updated content network list and (ii) allows the user device to flag at least one content item for modifying the updated content network list.

In one aspect, a method includes receiving images from image results responsive to a query, wherein each of the images is associated with an order in the image results and respective user behavior data for the image as a search result for the first query, and associating one or more of the first images with a plurality of annotations based on analysis of the selected first images' content.

Abstract: Embodiments provide a web-based editing tool that intelligently leverages certain functionality of a browser, web client, desktop client, and native software at the client side to provide seamless user experience when editing a file over a network. Responsive to a user selecting a file for editing, the web client may send a passive content request to a web server embedded in the desktop client at a specific address on the client device. If no response, the web client prompts the user to start or install the desktop client on the client device. If a response is received, the web client sends a request to the desktop client with a user identifier and authorization to download the file from a server. The desktop client downloads the file, opens it in the native software, monitors the file being edited, and updates a delta associated with the file to the server.

Abstract: [Problem] To provide an information processing system, an information processing method, and a recording medium that can detect a worry and notify a user of a message. [Solution] An information processing system includes a control unit that performs control to estimate at least one of a worry cause of the user and a degree of worry of the user, and present a message to the user when at least one of the worry cause and the degree of worry satisfies a specific condition.

Abstract: Methods, apparatus, and systems for effectively reducing media content transmissions and efficiently rendering immersive media contents are disclosed. In one example aspect, a method includes requesting, by a user, media files from a server according to the current viewing position and viewing direction of the user, receiving, by the user, the media files from the server according to the current viewing position and the viewing direction of the user, extracting a patch of an atlas, and synthesizing the visual content in the current window area of the user, and obtaining, by the user, three-dimensional stereoscopic video content according to the current viewing position and viewing direction of the user.

Abstract: The exemplary embodiments may provide a software tool that enables a software designer to derive a color from a reference color. The software designer may specify changes in color characteristics that are to be applied to the reference color to derive the desired color. The user interface may be provided to allow the software designer to enter information regarding the reference color and the desired changes in color characteristics. The user interface may display the reference color and that resulting desired color so that the software designer may get a visual appreciation for the difference in the colors. The software tool of the exemplary embodiments may also include a color palette generator. The color palette generator may generate a palette of colors from a reference color.

Abstract: A technique for preventing a man in the middle attack is proposed. A security gate system includes an admission card and a security gate apparatus. The admission card has condition data that is data for specifying a condition to be satisfied when or before or after encrypted authentication data are transferred from the admission card to the security gate apparatus. When a user attempts to enter a building, authentication data including condition data are generated in the admission card 100 (S802), and encrypted into encrypted authentication data (S803). The encrypted authentication data are transmitted from the admission card to the security gate apparatus (S804, S904), and decrypted to be returned to the authentication data (S905). The security gate apparatus performs authentication determination which is a determination as to whether a condition specified by the condition data included in the authentication data is satisfied (S906), and opens a gate plate when a determination result is positive (S907).

Abstract: Documents from a set of related documents in a domain are processed to identify keywords associated with each document. The documents are then further processed to identify the documents that are the most similar to each other. For each document, some or all of the keywords that are associated with the similar documents, but not the document itself, are selected as semantic tags for the document. These semantic tags determined for a document represent novel or hidden concepts and contexts that may relate to the document, but that do not actually appear in the document. The documents are used to train a model that generate semantic tags for a document or for keywords associated with the document. The generated model can then be used for a variety of purposes such the creation of an index for a set of documents or for query expansion.

Abstract: The techniques described herein relate to methods, apparatus, and computer readable media configured to accessing multimedia data that includes a plurality of media tracks that each include an associated series of samples of media data, and a derived track comprising a set of derivation operations to perform to generate a series of samples of media data for the derived track. A derivation operation of the set is performed to generate a portion of media data for the derived track, which includes: determining, based on the derivation operation, a group of media tracks from the plurality by determining each media track in the group meets a grouping criteria, selecting one media track from the group of media tracks, and adding a sample from the one media track to the derived track to generate the portion of the derived track.

Abstract: Provided is an electronic dynamic calendar system and an operation method thereof for providing an electronic calendar capable of importing multimedia messages such as audio, photos and video. Different from conventional electronic calendars that can only record text messages therein, the electronic calendar can have richer content. In addition to a text message, a reminder of a multimedia message can be set according to the user's need such that the reminder content set by the user can be more clearly understood and expressed.

Abstract: Certain embodiments involve a template-based redesign of documents based on the contents of documents. For instance, a computing system selects a template for modifying an input document. To do so, the computing system uses a generative adversarial network to generate an interpolated layout image from an input layout image, which represents the input document, and a template layout image, which represents the selected template. The computing system matches the input element to an interpolated element from the interpolated layout image. The computing system generates an output document by, for example, modifying a layout of the input document to match the interpolated layout image, such as by fitting the input element into a shape of the interpolated element.

Abstract: In one aspect, an example method includes (i) retrieving, from a text index, closed captioning repetition data for a segment of a sequence of media content; (ii) generating features using the closed captioning repetition data; (iii) providing the features as input to a classification model, wherein the classification model is configured to output classification data indicative of a likelihood of the features being characteristic of a program segment; (iv) obtaining the classification data output by the classification model; (v) determining a prediction of whether the segment is a program segment using the classification data; and (vi) storing the prediction for the segment in a database.

Abstract: Encoding and/or decoding of messages. On the encoding end, a composite encoder encodes message from an internal format that is used by internal system components into an external format. However, the composite encoder may encode the outgoing messages into different external formats on a per-message basis. For incoming message, a composite decoder decodes incoming messages from any one of a plurality of external formats into the internal format also on a per-message basis. A per-message report mechanism permits internal system components and the encoding/decoding components to communicate information regarding the encoding or decoding on a per message basis. XML messages can be converted automatically into Binary messages.

Abstract: A computer implemented method, apparatus, and computer program product for generating deportment and comportment cohorts. Digital sensor data associated with an individual is received. The digital sensor data comprises event metadata describing a set of events associated with the individual. The set of events comprises at least one of body language, facial expressions, vocalizations, and social interactions of the individual. In response to determining description data for the individual is available, the description data is retrieved. The description data comprises at least one of identification information, past history information, and current status information for the individual. A set of conduct analysis models based on the event metadata and the available description data is selected. The set of conduct analysis models process the event metadata describing the set of events associated with the individual to identify and interpret the set of events.

An archival storage device stores the media file if the archival storage device has space to accommodate the media file and the media file has a higher archival prioritization than the additional media file.

Abstract: A content recommendation apparatus and method gives users a peer-to-peer, highly personal way to discover new content by being introduced to one or more similar users. A similar user is a user that has a correlation to another user based on their preferences and behaviors (e.g., downloaded content, frequency of use, content currently have on device, browsing behaviors, content organizational habits, etc.). A catalog of content, or a designated portion thereof, can be used at least in part for finding matches and for identifying content to suggest to another. Data about user behavior can serve to connect the user to similar individuals for the purpose of discovering new content.

Abstract: A technique for processing data in a network is disclosed. In one particular exemplary embodiment, the technique may be realized as a method for processing data in a network having a plurality of network stations. The method comprises receiving a first representation of data at a first of the plurality of network stations, processing the first representation so as to generate a second representation of the data, and transmitting the second representation from the first network station to a second of the plurality of network stations for storage therein, wherein the second representation is stored at an address within the second network station. Abstract: Even if there are many printed images similar to a query image, this invention can effectively use a display window with a limited size and support to specify the print request source of each similar image by classifying and displaying the images according to additional information containing information indicating the print request source which has issued a print request for the image. Therefore, when a query image is input and images similar to the query image are found, the similar images are classified according to the user names of users who have printed them. The numbers of times of printing of the similar images and maximum similarities are displayed for the respective user names.

Abstract: A system and method for media asset management. An original media asset for a media project is identified and a plurality of versions of the original media asset is also identified. The plurality of versions of the media asset include at least one modified version of the original media asset. Typically each of the plurality of versions of the original media asset includes a plurality of components, and the modified versions of the original media asset include at least one modified component. The component being modified is based on a corresponding component of the original media asset. Metadata for each of the plurality of components is generated that indicates whether each component is a modified component, and the metadata of the modified component indicates a type of modification made to the modified component.

The method includes storing a plurality of versions of media assets of the media project, including an original version of the media asset and at least one modified version of the media asset. The metadata indicates whether each of the plurality of component is a modified component, and the metadata of the modified component indicates a type of modification made to the modified component.

Abstract: A database program includes loose triggers that are not coupled to specific entities at the time the database program is compiled. The database program provides a user interface that allows a user to couple selected entities to the loose triggers or decouple selected entities from loose triggers. The database program validates the entities that are selected by the user for coupling or decoupling and stores the coupled entities as part of the loose trigger definitions in a loose trigger metadata database.

Abstract: A technique for playing a media file by a data processing system. A degraded initial version of the media file is received from a sending data processing system. A supplemental version of the media file is received from the sending data processing system. The degraded version of the media file is merged with the supplemental version of the media file to form a combined media file, with the combined media file being played. In one embodiment, the degraded version of the media data has a reduced quality that is obtained by removing portions of the data and filling in the removed portions with dummy data. During a subsequent rebuilding of the media data by the receiving/recipient data processing system, a supplemental version of the media data is received and merged/combined with the degraded version to form a copy that corresponds to the original, high-quality version of the media data.

Abstract: In some embodiments, the technology includes systems and methods for media asset management. In other embodiments, a method for media asset management includes receiving media data. The method for media asset management further includes generating a descriptor based on the media data and comparing the descriptor with one or more stored descriptors. Abstract: A system and method are provided for summarizing multiple aspects of tags associated with media events. In the system and method, tag metadata for tags generated at one or more user interfaces associated with at least one media event is obtained. Thereafter, tags are organized into a hierarchy of tags based on the metadata and a metadata sorting criteria. Additionally, tag significance data for tags is computed based on the metadata and the hierarchy. A visual representation of the tags can then be generated, where indicia for the tags is spatially arranged to visually depict the hierarchy of the tags are selected to visually depict at least a relative significance among sibling tags in the hierarchy.

Abstract: Methods and systems for discerning human intent based on user-generated metadata are provided. Communications from a plurality of social networks are evaluated to determine whether they are associated with contexts indicative of user intent. When a social network communication is determined to be associated with such a context, a tag may be generated associating the social network communication with the indicated human intent. In addition, information regarding the social network communication may be exported to an application responsible for responsive action.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention relate to techniques for personalized tag recommendation for enterprise social bookmarking systems. According to one embodiment of the invention, a method comprises computing at least one set of candidate tags for a document in accordance with at least one factor, and combining the at least one set of candidate tags from different factors into an overall recommendation list of candidate tags. At least one suggested tag from the overall recommendation list is returned as a result of the combination. At least one applied tag that is applied to the document by a user of a computer system is recorded, and the combination is adjusted based on the at least one applied tag.

Some embodiments provide for a shared archive. A shared archive may provide homogeneous access to medical data, etc. that was previously stored into the CAS cloud by heterogeneous applications, varied data types, etc. Additionally, embodiments herein allow for the creation and distribution of virtual packages. For example, a user may create a virtual package for all images related to a patient so that she may have a virtual package of all of her medical data to present to a referring physician.

The metadata is stored in facets in a repository and tagged to indicate one or more of the source, a time frame, or an associated data object. In response to receiving a request for metadata, a system selects metadata based on the specified object, source, or time frame. Access permissions corresponding to the requester are used to select and provide metadata for which the requester has permissions.

Abstract: Techniques for identifying near-duplicates of a media object and associating metadata of the near-duplicates with the media object are described herein. One or more devices implementing the techniques are configured to identify the near duplicates based at least on similarity attributes included in the media object. Metadata is then extracted from the near-duplicates and is associated with the media object as descriptors of the media object to enable discovery of the media object based on the descriptors.

Abstract: A method and system of optimizing the memory usage and performance of data deduplication storage systems includes organizing the metadata of data blocks needed by deduplicating storage systems. A three level hierarchy is used. Level 1 stores the metadata on disk along with the user data. Level 2 uses low latency storage (e.g. RAM and Solid State Disks) to cache the on-disk meta data for faster direct access. Level 3 organizes the fingerprints using a Trie and is entirely resident in RAM. Thus, the search, to determine whether a data block is unique or not and a candidate for transfer, can be more efficiency executed and to ensure that the meta data is transactionally secure.

Abstract: A semantic-based searching apparatus and method which can search for desired information from various types of media using associative properties of search target objects are provided. The semantic-based searching apparatus stores an associative search structure that previously stores a semantic index. The associative search structure is to obtain a final search object corresponding to an input search query. The semantic index configuration includes feature metadata used to identify a specific object, semantic entity metadata to indicate semantic entities corresponding to the feature metadata, and semantic relation metadata to indicate a relation between the semantic entities. The semantic-based searching apparatus uses semantic metadata stored in conformity with the semantic index configuration, the semantic index, and the associative search structure to generate a search result corresponding to the input search query.

Abstract: A method and a system are provided for searching content (e.g., text, metadata and/or a fingerprint, etc.). In one example, the system receives content and a query for matching the content. The content includes computer readable data. The system generates a feature vector for the content. Generating the feature vector comprises generating a signal from the content, generating a spectrogram from the signal, and generating the feature vector from the spectrogram. The system searches for at least one feature vector that matches the feature vector for the content.

Abstract: The disclosed embodiments related generally to the submission of metadata content and media content to a media distribution system. The media content can include, for example, audio, video, image, or podcast data. In accordance with one embodiment, a client submitting metadata content can validate the metadata content prior to submission of the metadata content and/or associated media content. A media distribution system receiving metadata content can also validate the metadata content.

Abstract: A method and system for using social bookmarks wherein a social bookmark is a triplet of the entities of user, document, and tag. The method including: collecting multiple bookmarks; representing the bookmarks as a three-dimensional space or matrix of the number of times a user u, used tag t to bookmark document d; measuring the similarity of two entities of the same type; and using the similarity to weight bookmarks or entities. The weightings may be used to provide a measure of a usefulness of a bookmark for describing a document for retrieval purposes. Two-dimensions of the bookmark space may also be used to predict the third-dimension.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products for determining availability of presentable content via a subscription service are disclosed. According to one aspect, a method includes receiving an indication of first presentable content associated with a first subscription service. Metadata associated with the selected first presentable content is received. Based on the received metadata, it is determined whether second presentable content corresponding to the first presentable content is available from a second subscription service. Further, and indication is provided that the second presentable content is available.

Abstract: Systems and methods for performing an updating process to an in-memory index are provided. Upon receiving notice of document modifications covered by an inverted index associated with a search engine, in the form of an update file, a representation of the modification is published onto various index serving machines. Each index serving machine receiving the update file determines if the modifications are applicable to the index serving machine. If an index serving machine determines that it contains mapping information corresponding to the modified documents, the index serving machine utilizes the update file and associated mapping information to update an in-memory index. In embodiments, the in-memory index is used to provide results to user queries in tandem with the inverted index. In some embodiments, an extra in-memory index is maintained that is revised with constantly incoming metadata updates and the existing in-memory index is periodically swapped with the revised in-memory index.

Abstract: There is provided a first dock for a portable hard disk, where the first dock is connectable to a host device. There is also provided a corresponding method for accessing content on the host device during use of the dock. It is advantageous that the host device is able to access content from portable hard disks that are docked with the first dock and a second dock.
