Computer Network Monitoring Patents (Class 709/224)
  • Patent number: 11914980
Abstract: Deployments of software programs to distributed computing environments can be managed according to some aspects described herein. In one example, a system can receive a deployment specification having deployment parameters that define a target deployment state for a software program deployable to a target computing environment. The system can generate, based on a mapping of the deployment parameters to resource consumption values, a resource consumption estimate associated with the target deployment state of the software program in the target computing environment. The system can generate a deployment metric based on the resource consumption estimate and transmit the deployment metric to a client device. The deployment metric can be usable to manage deployment of the software program.

Abstract: Systems and methods for authenticating access to multiple data stores substantially in real-time are disclosed. The system may include a server coupled to a network, a client device in communication with the server via the network and a plurality of data stores. The server may authenticate access to the data stores and forward information from those stores to the client device. An exemplary authentication method may include receipt of a request for access to data. Information concerning access to that data is stored and associated with an identifier assigned to a client device. If the identifier is found to correspond to the stored information during a future request for access to the store, access to that store is granted.

Abstract: Examples herein describe systems and methods for self-healing in a Telco network function virtualization cloud. KPI attributes for virtual network functions can be mapped to physical fault notifications to create synthesized alerts. The synthesized alerts can include information from both a virtual and physical layer, allowing a self-healing action framework to determine root causes of problems in the Telco cloud. Remedial actions can then be performed in either the virtual or physical layer of the Telco cloud. Remedial actions in one layer can be based on root causes identified in the other, which can allow for remediation before network downtime occurs.

Abstract: Malware can be automatically detected and countermeasures automatically generated. A virtual machine (VM) is run with an operating system configured with a monitoring subsystem. The monitoring subsystem is configured to generate event data based on events occurring on the virtual machine. The monitoring subsystem can run within the operating system kernel. Kernel drivers can register to receive specific events. The events are therefore sent to the drivers, which can send them to a classifier. The classifier can detect malware based on the events. When a sample is run on the VM, the classifier can detect malware in the sample. While running the sample, event data is collected. A countermeasure compiler can generate a countermeasure to the malware, the countermeasure based on the event data.

  • Patent number: 11909710
Abstract: A method for communication includes provisioning each node in a network with a respective set of two or more network addresses. Each node in succession is assigned a respective network address from the respective provisioned set that has not been assigned for use by any preceding node. Upon finding for a given node that all the network addresses in the respective provisioned set were assigned to preceding nodes, the preceding nodes are searched to identify a candidate node having an additional network address in the respective provisioned set, other than the assigned respective network address, that was not yet assigned to any of the nodes. The additional network address is assigned to the candidate node instead of the respective network address that was previously assigned to the candidate node, and the assigning of the network addresses to the nodes in the succession resumes following the candidate node.

Abstract: Embodiments disclosed are directed to ensuring resource compliance within a cloud-based environment. The embodiments include steps for performing pre-provisioning checks of resources, such as network protocols, prior to their deployment within the cloud-based environment. These steps include using bitemporal analysis to determine the impact of deploying resources within the environment through the use of multiple execution timelines where the impact of deploying a resource may be evaluated on an alternative timeline that does not change the current resource scope of the cloud-based environment.

  • Patent number: 11907587
Abstract: Storage devices are described herein that are capable of communicating with host-computing devices using multiple protocols. These Multi-Protocol Storage Devices (MPSDs) can be configured to utilize a persistent memory region (PMR) across a variety of protocols. Often, one of these protocols is the Non-Volatile Memory express (NVMe) protocol which provides for the ability to utilize and manage a PMR within the storage device. Other protocols may not have native support for PMR like the NVMe protocol does. Therefore, MPSDs are disclosed that may determine which protocol is in use in response to an initialization event and adjust the use of the PMR as needed based on the determined protocol. These adjustments may allow for the direct access of the PMR as an extension of general memory storage or may be configured to provide increased performance of the storage device overall. These storage devices may be hot-swappable between numerous host-computing systems.

Abstract: Systems and methods for assessing cybersecurity risk of a computer network include the use of a risk model application that is configured to determine an initial cyber risk score value based upon an underwriting process. A cyber risk data stream is sent from the client's computer network to the system processor to periodically calculate an updated cyber risk score based upon actual data. The system processor is adapted to use the data stream to generate client information that is accessible by the client via a web-based client portal. In embodiments, the cyber risk data stream can be actively monitored to identify a threat of a cybersecurity breach.

  • Patent number: 11909916
Abstract: A data subscription system provides emergency event data to receiving systems. The data subscription system includes an event emitter and a distribution module. The event emitter receives event data describing an event in a computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system; the event is related to an emergency call. The event emitter identifies a subscription subscribed to the event based on a tenant identifier identifying a CAD tenant associated with the event, and adds a data message with the event data to a queue for the identified subscription. The distribution module retrieves the data message from the queue, transforms the data message based on one or more filtering or formatting rules, and transmits the transformed data message to a receiving system associated with the subscription.

  • Patent number: 11909627
Abstract: A method and apparatus for routing packets in a network, such as a satellite mesh network. Network nodes maintain network status information (e.g. link availability information) for the entire network. However, the information is maintained to a higher level of precision for some network regions than for others. For example, the network node can be informed of network events in some regions with lower latency than in other regions. Routing information is generated based on the network status information. Multiple different mechanisms can be used to provide network status updates at different levels of precisions. Nodes which generate or relay network status updates can inhibit (e.g. block or delay) passing the updates toward a target node in order to reduce the level of precision of network status information at that target node.

Abstract: Techniques are described for executing machine learning models trained for specific operators with feature values that are based on the actual execution of a workload set. The machine learning models generate an estimate of benefit gain/cost for executing operations on data portions in the alternative encoding format. Such data potions may be sorted based on the estimated benefit, in an embodiment. Using cost estimation machine learning models for memory space, the data portions with the most benefits that comply with the existing memory space constraints are recommended and/or are automatically encoded into the alternative encoding format.
