Abstract: A power module includes a circuit board and a load group. The load group is installed on the circuit board. The load group includes a first-stage power conversion circuit, a second-stage power conversion circuit and plural loads. The first-stage power conversion circuit converts an input voltage into a transition voltage. The second-stage power conversion circuit converts the transition voltage into a driving voltage. A rated value of the first input voltage is higher than twice a rated value of the transition voltage. A rated value of the driving voltage is lower than a half of the rated value of the transition voltage. The distance between the input terminal of the second-stage power conversion circuit and the output terminal of the first-stage power conversion circuit is smaller than the distance between the input terminal of the first-stage power conversion circuit and each edge of the circuit board.

  • Patent number: 11439047
Abstract: A standard server rack is modified to be able to detect if a blanking panel is missing from an unoccupied slot. Detection can be achieved electrically by providing switch elements in the holes on the rack siderails, whose switching state depends on whether a fastening pin is in the hole. A blanking panel, when fitted to a particular slot, thus switches the switch elements for that slot, which can be detected by a make/break circuit including the switch elements. Alternatively, detection of a missing blanking panel can be achieved optically by arranging a bank of forward pointing optical sensors at the back of the server rack, which point forward to detect the presence of a blanking panel. The optical sensors are distributed vertically so that at least one optical sensor covers each slot.

  • Patent number: 11222683
Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure are drawn to apparatuses and methods for staggering the timing of targeted refresh operations. Memory dies may need to periodically perform refresh operations, which may be auto-refresh operations or targeted refresh operations. Targeted refresh operations may draw less current than auto-refresh operations. When dies are collected into a group (e.g., a memory stack, a memory module) the timing of targeted refresh operations may be staggered between the different dies to help reduce the peak current drawn. The targeted refresh operations may be staggered such that, when a maximum number of the dies are performing a refresh operation, at least one of the dies performs a targeted refresh operation instead of an auto-refresh operation.

Abstract: A memory system having a set of non-volatile media, a volatile memory, a buffer memory, and a controller configured to process requests from a host system to store data in the non-volatile media or retrieve data from the non-volatile media. The buffer memory is capable of holding data for at least a predetermined period of time after the volatile memory loses data during an event of power outage in the memory system. A power manager monitors a power supply of the memory system to detect an onset of power outage and, in response to the onset of power outage, causes the controller to copy meta data in the volatile memory to the buffer memory.

  • Patent number: 11182143
Abstract: An apparatus for voltage regulation device adjustment includes a rating module that determines an efficiency score for a current firmware of a voltage regulation device (“VRD”). The efficiency score describes a power efficiency for the VRD based on a configuration of an electronic device where the VRD is installed. The apparatus includes a comparison module that compares the determined efficiency score for the current firmware with a predetermined efficiency score for a different firmware for the VRD. The apparatus includes a firmware module that selects the different firmware for the VRD in response to determining that the VRD is less efficient with the current firmware than with the different firmware based on the comparison of the efficiency score for the current firmware with the predetermined efficiency score for the different firmware.

Abstract: A power output control and compensation (PCC) circuit operates within a distributed energy resource (DER) system. The PCC circuit is located in a battery power conversion system (PCS) and includes an input terminal to connect with a power source and an output terminal to connect with an electrical panel or load. A current sensing device is coupled between the input and the output terminals to measure a power level of the power source. A relay is coupled between the current sensing device and the output terminal and a processor selectively connects power from the power source to the electrical panel or the load based on the measured power level or based on other power measurements within the DER system.
