Abstract: A method in a computing device includes causing a set of drawing controls to be displayed on a user interface, where a user utilizes the set of drawing controls to define two-dimensional shapes via the user interface, receiving drawing data from the user interface, where the drawing data includes a plurality of two-dimensional shapes, and generating a drawing image corresponding to the received drawing data. The method further includes receiving a reference to a geographic location from the user interface, retrieving map data corresponding to the received reference in response to receiving the reference to the geographic location, and generating a composite document that includes the map data and the drawing image.

Abstract: Aggregated data associated with a geographic area may be obtained. The aggregated data may be dynamically distilled to obtain a presentation set of data based on a dynamically changing geographic location associated with the geographic area. Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for brokering media content or segments created by media creators for use by licensees on a website or webpage of the licensees. The media creators upload their media to a hosting database via an account, and potential licensees bid for the right to be a licensee and to use the media on their webpage. The highest bidding licensee receives a permission authorizing the delivery and display of the media on their webpage, via the database recording the actual page views and deliveries for calculating a license fee to be paid to the host and to the media creators for use of the media thereon.

Abstract: A computer implemented method, a computer program product, and a data processing system attach audio generated scripts to graphical representations of applications. A mobile device records an audio instruction. The mobile device then converts the audio instruction into a command script and associates the command script with a document identifier. The mobile device then forwards the document identifier and the associated command script to a target location. The command script can then be utilized at the target location to make changes to a document identified by the document identifier.

Abstract: Included are systems and methods for providing dynamic content into a static electronic document. At least one embodiment includes receiving an indication to include the dynamic content into the static electronic document, creating a computer program that defines functionality of the dynamic content, and deploying the computer program into the static electronic document. The method includes receiving a user request to upload a user-specified video stream; determining whether the video stream meets one or more predetermined requirements, uploading the video stream; analyzing the video stream to select video frames for extraction based on a set of predetermined frame selection criteria; extracting the selected video frames from the video image; selecting a story book template to be used with the video images; and generating a preview of the story book template with the video images within a graphical user interface (GUI), the user editing the story book template with text and/or moving or modifying the video frames within the preview.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and computer readable-media for adaptive media playback based on destination. The method for adaptive media playback comprises determining one or more destinations, collecting media content that is relevant to or describes the one or more destinations, assembling the media content into a program, and outputting the program. In various embodiments, media content may be advertising, consumer-generated, based on real-time events, based on a schedule, or assembled to fit within an estimated available time. Media content may be assembled using an adaptation engine that selects a plurality of media segments that fit in the estimated available time, orders the plurality of media segments, alters at least one of the plurality of media segments to fit the estimated available time, if necessary, and creates a playlist of selected media content containing the plurality of media segments.

Abstract: A system and method for processing attachments to messages sent to a mobile device is described herein. Embodiments described herein apply to encrypted messages comprising multiple message parts, in which different encryption keys (e.g. session keys) have been used to encrypt the different message parts. In at least one example embodiment, the encrypted session keys for every message content part comprising an attachment is received at the mobile device. In one embodiment, all of the encrypted session keys are stored together in a main message header. The mobile device may then decrypt the encrypted session key associated with a user requested attachment, and transmits the decrypted session key to one or more remote servers in an attachment request for use in decrypting the requested attachment. Data associated with the requested attachment, in decrypted form, is returned to the mobile device.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method, device, and software program for providing entertainment by way of an interactive device. The device receives environmental data by way of at least one of a plurality of sensors, optionally stores that data in a datastore, determines the presence of an event by comparing that data to previously received and stored data, and performs a conspicuous act in response to the detection of an event. In addition to performing a conspicuous act, the device can send a transmission by way of a transmission device, thereby communicating with another device or a remote network. The device auto-initiates at least one conspicuous action and modifies behavior based on responses thereto. Because multiple inputs are received, the present invention can assign priorities to the inputs, executing resulting processes in their order of priority.

Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided for annotating video content with metadata generated using speech recognition technology. The method begins by rendering video content on a display device. A segment of speech is received from a user such that the speech segment annotates a portion of the video content currently being rendered. The speech segment is converted to a text-segment and the text-segment is associated with the rendered portion of the video content. The text segment is stored in a selectively retrievable manner so that it is associated with the rendered portion of the video content.

MPEG-4 playback systems are not simple extensions of MPEG-2 playback systems, but, due to object based nature of MPEG-4, present new opportunities and challenges in synchronized management of independent coded objects as well as scene composition and presentation. Therefore, these configurations allow significantly new and enhanced multimedia services and systems. In addition, MPEG-4 aims for an advanced functionality, called Adaptive Audio Visual Session (AAVS) or MPEG-J. Adaptive Audio Visual Session (AAVS) (i.e., MPEG-AAVS, MPEG-Java or MPEG-J) requires, in addition to the definition of configurations, a definition of an application programming interface (API) and its organization into Java packages. Also disclosed are concepts leading to definition of such a framework.

Abstract: A combined projector/printer that can receive data in a printer format or a projector format, and then either generate a displayable image, a printed document or both. In the case that the input data is not in a video format but rather in a print format, the projector system is further capable of converting the print format data to image data and to render the image data on a digital display. The print format to image data conversion is provided by a coder/decoder. The combined projector/printer system is capable of displaying an image, printing an image, or recording a presentation according to the needs of the user. The present invention also includes a variety of methods for performing the functionality of the present invention including a “print-to-display” method.

Abstract: A publishing company follows a process to collect photographs for a picture portion of a commemorative publication with a plurality of digital photo-enabled electronic devices. First, the publishing company should provide a website for an event coordinator to view their photo collecting service. Once the event coordinator agrees to the photo collecting service, the publishing company provides the event coordinator with a phone number and an email address that are specific to the event coordinator. The event coordinator then distributes the phone number and the email address to the guests at the event so that the guests can take pictures with their digital photo-enabled electronic devices and send those pictures back to the publishing company. The publishing company stores the collection of photographs, which were taken by the guests, to a database server. Finally, the collection of photographs can be used to create the picture portion of the commemorative publication.

Abstract: A technique for aligning a plurality of media clips is provided. One or more intra-clip points of interest (POIs) are identified in at least a first media clip. When aligning a first point in the first media clip with a second point in a second media clip, the first point may be snapped to the second point, wherein at least one of the first point and second point is an intra-clip POI. When a snap occurs, at least one of a visual or audible indication is generated, such as a “pop” sound, a snap line, or automatically aligning the first point with the second point when the first point is within a specified number of pixels of the second point. Techniques for representing multiple channels of an audio clip as a single waveform and caching waveforms are also provided.

Abstract: Systems and methods for generating and sharing interactive charts are described. The interactive charts are generated in an online portal that allows users to customize the interactive features of the chart. An exemplary interactive feature includes an interactive audio feature. The interactive chart can be shared by, for example, embedding the interactive chart in an external electronic document, such as a .ppt or PDF document, that can be shared with other users. The interactive chart and/or the data associated with the interactive chart may also be purchased through an online store environment or otherwise shared with other users.

One embodiment of the present invention provides a photo book including an image and an electronically readable code associated with the image. Abstract: A presentation application provides for authoring and playback of a presentation. A presentation is an interactive collection of activities. An activity may include one or more frames, wherein each frame includes one or more modules. A module may consist of media content such as video, text, images or other content. A user may provide input during playback of the presentation. In response to the input, the module or frame receiving the input may call an action on a presentation activity, frame or module, thereby allowing the user to navigate through the presentation and accomplish objectives. When authoring a presentation, a user may associate a user initiated event or internally generated event with a module action. Authoring may be performed through an authoring interface provided by an authoring tool. The authoring tool may save a presentation as a package which can be distributed.

Abstract: Dynamic processing markers for use with cached web pages. If a request for a cached web page is received at a server, the server can provide the cached web page to the client. However, if there are one or more processing markers associated with the cached page, the server may process the dynamic processing marker using information from the request. Potentially, the dynamic result of this processing may be provided with the cached web page to the client. Alternatively or in addition, the dynamic processing marker is provided to the client, whereupon the client provides the processing marker to another server that processes the marker. Accordingly, even cached web pages that are cached at the server side may cause appropriate processing by the server upon receiving a request for the web page.

Abstract: A content manager receives digital content. The content manager modifies original digital content in accordance with a set of effects to produce modified digital content. Application of the set of effects modifies how the digital content is subsequently played back by one or more media player applications. In addition to applying effect, the content manager creates metadata identifying the set of effects applied to the original digital content to produce the modified digital content. The content manager then initiates distribution of the modified digital content and the corresponding metadata over a network. The metadata associated with the digital content identifies the set of effects applied to the received digital content prior to the distribution. Accordingly, other entities in a network environment can identify which effects have been applied to a corresponding set of digital content.
