Abstract: A method is provided that includes receiving a request at a server from a client device to configure a form associated with a workflow step. The form is of a form type that supports a set of features. The method also includes identifying a form tool of a plurality of form tools that is compatible with the form type. In addition, the method includes generating form feature discovery instructions via a form integration framework application programming interface (API). The form integration framework API utilizes a common set of instructions adapted to direct the plurality of form tools. Further, the method includes providing a set of user interfaces via the form integration framework to the client device based at least in part on form feature data provided via the form tool. The set of user interfaces is adapted to configure the form to generate a configured form.

Abstract: A method and system are disclosed that enable a party to verify that a specific web-form was the source of the information by comparing the information captured by a verification-agent with the information the agent receives directly or indirectly from the party hosting tie web-form. In one embodiment, the method for verifying data may comprise providing a computer server having a processor and a computer readable memory. The server may receive a first tracked data set and then store that data set for later reference. The server may then receive a verification request and compare tie data from that request against the stored tracked data. After a comparison as been made, the server may then transmit a verification response that indicates the results of the comparison.

Abstract: A printer receives a multimedia document as input and creates two documents as output: a paper version of the multimedia document and a “mapping” file that maps marks on the physical pages onto actions. The mapping table is supplied to an application associated with a pen-capture device that can be attached to the paper version of the multimedia document and used to receive the marks applied to the paper.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for retrieving a form template including one or more rendering attributes for rendering one or more partitions of a form are described. Whether the partitions of the form can be rendered in compliance with style constraints is determined according to the rendering attributes. An updated form template is generated such that at least one of the rendering attributes is updated. Partitions of the form can be rendered based on the updated template in compliance with the style constraints.

Abstract: Predetermined indicia are detected in a digital image that is formed by optical scanning. Alternatively, or in addition, a digital image can have a predefined insertion field. Input and/or an optically scanned image is substituted in the digital image for the predetermined indicia and/or for the predefined insertion field. The digital image having the substitution is rendered.

Abstract: An integrated records system and method is provided that permits rapid encounter recording via a simplified, customized, flexible encounter form uniquely generated on a per-customer basis, and additionally providing unique hand-written and/or dictated impressions. In the case of medical records, the system can be used to generate patient specific encounter forms for use during a patient visit.

Abstract: In an electronic mail system environment, a system and method for providing message flags, providing custom forms, and providing an autoresponse feature. The e-mail system notifies a recipient when a due date is approaching or when a follow-up action is past due. A custom forms feature allows a user to create and share custom forms without requiring the form to be published or installed by other users. The custom form's attributes are transmitted to the recipient as an element of the e-mail message. An autoresponse feature allows a sender to create a message that includes voting buttons corresponding to the possible responses to a query. A recipient replies by selecting one of the voting buttons. The recipient's vote is automatically tallied in the sender's copy of the message, thus allowing the sender to view a vote tally, a list of recipients, and their response.

Abstract: Techniques for automatically generating a form associated with a spreadsheet table are disclosed herein. Such a form may have data entry fields that correspond to data attributes listed on the spreadsheet table. The form may be associated with the spreadsheet table by means of a user interface, such as an icon or other object oriented user interface. In this way, a command to display the form may be provided with one click of a pointing device. The form may be generally associated with each entry in the spreadsheet table so that the data from a selected entry is displayed. Besides entering new data or revising existing data, browsing of existing data in the spreadsheet table may also be performed through navigation mechanisms contained on the form. Techniques for syndicating a form associated with a spreadsheet table or workbook into a web page are also disclosed herein.

Abstract: A system includes a first database to associate a sub-interface identifier with customer information, a second database to store a history of customer usage records, and a first device. The first device may receive information from a routing device, where the information includes the sub-interface identifier for a sub-interface of the routing device and information identifying an amount of network traffic received at or transmitted from the sub-interface over a time period, use the sub-interface identifier to obtain the associated customer information from the first database, associate the customer information with the information identifying an amount of network traffic received at or transmitted from the sub-interface over a time period to create a new customer usage record, and store the new customer usage record in the second database.

Abstract: Technologies are described herein for generating a ubiquitous electronic form that will function correctly in multiple execution environments. According to embodiments, a request is received to create, edit, or fill an electronic form. An input processor detects the request and, in response thereto, identifies the runtime execution environment for the requested form. Once the input processor has identified the execution environment for the electronic form, the input processor instructs a form generator to generate the electronic form for use within the identified execution environment. In response to such an instruction, the form generator generates the electronic form for use in the identified execution environment. The form generator may programmatically generate a layout for the electronic form.

Abstract: Computer-implemented tape-out form generation methods and systems. A database, comprising tape-out types, and corresponding questions and answers, is provided. The questions and the answers are generated according to historical or/and new-technological manufacturing data. The tape-out types are displayed and selected. Corresponding questions and answers of the selected tape-out type are displayed. The answers are selected and tape-out forms are generated accordingly.

Abstract: A method for updating a configuration of a websheet. A client receives a web page including the websheet from a server. The websheet includes data values stored in a relational database table. The table includes a first set of data values displayed in cells of the websheet in response to the client receiving the web page. The table also includes a second set of data values associated with the websheet configuration. Second set data values are not displayed in the websheet in response to the client receiving the web page. A form displaying the second set is received by the client. Second set data values are updated on the form to provide an updated websheet configuration. With its updated configuration, the websheet is displayed at the client and allows data entry to modify or add first set data values.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide techniques for processing electronic forms. Techniques are provided for automatically filling out fields of electronic forms for a user based upon information stored for the user. This reduces the amount of information that a user has to enter on an electronic form.

Abstract: A method and system for automatically creating a webpage using a scanned file created from a hard copy. A lookup table correlates a particular text symbol, such as a dollar sign (“$”), to a specific functionality. For example, if a chart in the hard copy has a dollar sign before values in the chart, then the lookup table associates the dollar sign with a pointer to an HTML routine (object) for creating an input box in a webpage. The HTML routines can be used to create new webpages or to modify existing webpages.

Abstract: A user can be presented with a form or other record that can enable efficient performance of various actions including a workflow or process. As actions are performed, the user can be presented with different forms more applicable to a current task being performed. The forms can be automatically created and modified, or a user can request various changes or updates to the form. A language associated with the form or other information can be changed from a first language to a second language based upon a request for the change.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for comparing blank forms represented in a digital format to digitized filled-in forms are described. Different errors are attributed different weights when attempting to correlate regions of blank and filled-in forms. Foreground pixels in the blank form which are not found in a corresponding portion of a filled-in form are attributed greater error significance than foreground pixels, e.g., pixels which may correspond to added text, found in the filled-in form which correspond to a background pixel value in the blank form. A virtual filled-in form including content, e.g., pixel values, from the filled-in form is generated from the content of the filled-in form and pixel value location mapping information determined from comparing the blank and filled-in forms. Various analysis is performed on a block basis, but in some embodiments the final pixel mapping to the virtual form is performed on a pixel by pixel rather than a block basis.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a new paradigm in Multimedia Services Creation Methodology, and new Service Creation and Service Execution Environments, based on this methodology. A service designer can access the Service Creation Environment via a Web based Graphical User Interface (GUI), to design new service in an automated way. The design process includes creation of the Service Logic Script (SLS), and associated databases that are used for storage of service and subscriber related data. The service developer (user) assembles Language Graphical Objects (LGO) into Service Logic Script. LGOs are part of a new graphical language that has been developed to meet multimedia service creation needs. They represent service control and call control primitive functions that have to be performed, in order to provide a multimedia service to service subscribers.

Abstract: A forms engine allows data sharing between customizable on-line forms, such as college admissions applications. Before applying, an applicant opens an account with a third party application servicer. After the applicant completes an application for one institution, the data is saved in a data base and automatically populates fields in subsequent application forms. The form for each institution is created from a form description file. Each form is branded for its institution and forms for different institutions differ in appearance and content so that the presence of the third party servicer is transparent to the applicant. The system is extensible without programming, allowing new applicant attributes to be readily incorporated into the system and allowing the content and appearance of the application to be readily changed by changing the description file.

Abstract: Systems and methods for defining a form with a plurality of layout items for data presentation by a business application provide a tree view with tree nodes to represent the layout items, wherein the view visualizes structure information, a processing order, a selected tree node to represent a selected layout item; provide a property view to display properties of the selected layout item; provide a layout view to display items, wherein the selected layout item is highlighted; modify the selected layout item and the processing order through interaction with a user; and create a form definition document. The compatibility of layout items and processing order with a predefined data interface of the business application is verified as well.

Abstract: The state of a label at an optional time point, such as a past time point, can be recognized, while the label can be regenerated even when the label has been deleted. When a label on which can be pasted an object, such as text, picture or sound, is acted upon (yes at step S141) the difference of the label information is computed (step S142) and the computed difference information is stored (steps S144, S145). The label state is then regenerated based on the time information stored in association with the label and the difference information. Also, time is displayed, plural time intervals are displayed (step S201), a desired one of the plural time intervals is selected (step S202) and time display is controlled responsive to the selected time intervals (steps S203 to S206), to facilitate retrieval of the information corresponding to the specified time.

Abstract: According to the present invention, there is provided a documentation system including an augmenting mechanism that elicits more accurate conclusions through the analysis of entered information and predetermined criteria. The present invention also provides for a method of documentation based upon the augmenting mechanism and a method of augmenting to calculate more accurate conclusions based upon all entered information and related predetermined criteria. Additionally, the present invention includes a software program for operating the documentation system and method for the operation of the augmenting mechanism. The present invention provides for a computerized documentation entry system for determining more accurate conclusions including a software program having an augmenting mechanism and a graphic user interface for displaying, accessing and interacting with users of the documentation system.

Abstract: Simplifying understanding of procedure dependencies in a form definition used in user interfaces. In an embodiment, a form definition including a set of procedures (identified by a corresponding identifier) are examined to determine pairs of procedures such that a caller procedure of a pair invokes/refers a called procedure in the pair. For each of pair of procedures determined, a link associated with an identifier identifying the called procedure is included in the caller procedure. The link is designed to display the called procedure in response to a user action associated with the identifier in a display of the caller procedure.

Abstract: A system updates a portable processing device with the latest version of customized data collection forms and associated data for use in acquisition of particular types of data for communication to a remote clinical information database. A system for providing forms for use in data collection by a portable processing device includes a form creator for creating an electronic form for use in collecting data, in response to user command. The system includes a repository of created electronic forms and a form version detector for detecting whether a newer version of a form currently stored in a portable processing device is available. A communication processor initiates communication of data representing a newer version form derived from the repository to the portable processing device in response to detection of availability of the newer version.

Abstract: A system identifies document (e.g., text processing application document) data fields similarly to the way a spreadsheet application references cells, to facilitate copying data fields that contain references to other fields. A text processing system enables user creation or editing of a document. The system includes a display processor for initiating generation of data representing an image. The image includes a document area for display and editing of a document and includes on a side of the document area, individual row identifiers and above or below the document area, data field indicators identifying corresponding individual data fields incorporated in a particular row of the document. A document processor associates an individual text data item with a data field incorporated in a particular row of the document.

Abstract: A method of generating a flexible automated workflow system includes identifying a workflow process, creating at least one form associated with the workflow process identified for display in a base language, generating a user interface version of the at least one form, and displaying the user interface version of the at least one form in the base language for use by a user. A user selectable option to translate includes providing at least one alternate translation of the user interface version of the at least one form into at least one alternate language when the at least one alternate translation was provided by a developer when the at least one form was created and an option to translate is selected by the user. Alternatively, the at least one translation of the user interface version of the at least one form can also be displayed when the at least one alternate translation is provided by a developer subsequent to creation of the at least one form.

Abstract: A presentation interface for rendering Web form content can include a Web form, a repeated item section, and a collection control section. The Web form can be written in a markup language based upon a Standard Generalized Mark-up Language (SGML). The Web form can include a repeating structure that references a collection of data items. The repeated item section can present the data items in a tabular format. The repeated item section can also include multiple selectors, one selector corresponding to each data item. The collection control section can include at least one user selectable collection actuator, such as a button, that performs a function associated with the actuator upon only those designated data items in the collection for which a corresponding selector has been chosen.
