Abstract: A form management system is provided that bundles individual electronic form instances into a single bundled form. Form field names in the electronic form instances and scripts are renamed at the time the form instances are merged into a bundle. In this manner, common names can be assigned to individual form fields in individual forms and then only the form field names in electronic forms selected for the bundle are renamed. Furthermore, the same renaming scheme is also executed in the scripts associated with the individual form documents and fields. As such, the form field names in the scripts of bundled documents are altered to reference the renamed form fields in the corresponding component forms.

Abstract: A system and method for generating one or more citation forms from a single workflow is disclosed. Specifically, the method can include requesting determinative data within a workflow and assigning one or more citation forms based upon said determinative data.

Abstract: A system and method for managing form-generated data related to a patient encounter involves translating location information related to a user writing on a form into a contextualized data element that includes contextual information. The contextual information helps to explain and/or give meaning to the user writing. Contextual information may include a descriptive name, an identification of data type, healthcare classification information, taxonomic information, an indication of the patient, an indication of the person that wrote on the form, and/or an indication of the date and time at which the writing occurred. The contextual information is then used by an Electronic Medical Record (EMR)/Electronic Health Record (EHR) application to perform a function such as patient/insurance billing, case management, or order fulfillment.

Abstract: Various embodiments provide a validation framework to validate whether data entered in a web application is valid. The framework includes a validation resource that contains a validation rule for the web application. The framework also includes a validation group web control that can generate client validation script that is useable by a client to validate whether the entered data is valid. In at least some embodiments, an event table that specifies the validation rules is used to present an error message when the entered data is not valid.

Abstract: An evolutionary document system comprises: a multi-function printer, a recognition module, an evolutionary document processing module, a list of document identifiers and corresponding actions, and an evolutionary document creation module. The MFP includes software and control routines for processing and creating evolutionary documents. The recognition module is operable on the MFP and allows the MFP to determine an evolutionary document identification number from an image scanned by the MFP. The evolutionary document processing module is capable of matching an evolutionary document identification number to one or more steps or action stored in the list of document identifiers and corresponding actions. Once the actions have been identified, the evolutionary document processing module executes the actions. The present invention also includes an evolutionary document creation module for creating an evolutionary document including an identification code.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for determining the layout of a form automatically to accommodate text in the form. Under the method and apparatus, a set of parameters define the sizing and alignment of elements of the form. Sizing and positioning instructions that are separate from the sizing and alignment parameters set the sizing and positioning of elements of the form based on the sizing and alignment parameters. The instructions determine the minimum size for the form, based in part on text in the form. The difference between the minimum size for the form and a desired size for the form is then distributed across the form to size and position the elements in the form.

Abstract: The invention relates to the authentication of users for a multi-function peripheral (MFP) device using handwritten signatures. Systems and methods are disclosed which relate to a MFP that conditions access to MFP operations based on an authenticating process that compares a prospective user's signature to previously saved signatures. The signatures are communicated to the MFP using the MFP's native scanning function.

Abstract: A technique for generating a web site in accordance with received data entry by: presenting a prompt for data entry; receiving a data entry in response to the prompt; presenting at least one additional prompt for data entry that is determined at least in part based upon the received data entry; receiving an additional data entry in response to each of the at least one additional prompts; determining at least one characteristic of at least one web site dimension of the web site based on the data entry; generating a multi-dimensional description of the web site based on the determined characteristics; retrieving web site data according to the generated multi-dimensional description of the web site; and generating the web site based upon the generated multi-dimensional description of the web site and the retrieved web site data.

Abstract: A system for creating and editing mark up language forms and documents in a manner that is user friendly. The system dynamically generates a user interface that is customized to the particular form or document selected by the user. The user then enters information into the plurality of fields in the user interface for the form or document. Once the form or document is completed, the user can save the form or document in a document repository. The user can also transmit the form or document as an electronic filing document. Additionally, the data entry fields of the form or document can automatically expand or contract to accommodate data of varying length. Moreover, the user can create templates that include frequently used data.

Abstract: A method and a device transport a postal object to an incompletely specified destination address. The object has at least one information item relating to a destination address to which the object is to be transported. A set of address components is predetermined. An address database is used which in each case contains a computer-available record per destination address for a set of possible destination addresses. Each record contains in each case one entry for each predetermined address component. At least one destination address information item on the object is detected. A screen form is used which contains in each case one input field for each address component. The detected destination address information is compared with the records of the address database. When exactly one record is consistent with all detected destination address information items, a transportation of the object to the destination address of the record is triggered.

Abstract: Job tickets containing scoped instructions can control the processing of a PDL file to produce a data stream that is efficiently processed by a rendering device such as a raster image processor or printer. Job tickets contain instructions for processing a PDL file. Scoped instructions control processing of only those PDL file sections within a certain scope as specified on a per instruction basis.

Abstract: A printer is provided which is capable of shortening time required to complete overlay printing. The printer includes a job controlling section to divide received data into a printer language-dependent portion being dependent on a printer language and print job information being not dependent on a printer language, a form controlling section to produce form bit-mapped data based on form information, and a bit-mapped controlling section to produce bit-mapped data representing non-form based on a result from analysis of a printer language-dependent portion and to perform overlay printing on a form and a non-form by overlaying bit-mapped data on form bit-mapped data. Since control on overlay printing is performed in accordance with form information in printing job information, the printer can be free from constraint of a printer language.

Abstract: Systems and methods of recognizing a business document and creating a document signature. In one embodiment, a business document is scanned and a business document image is created. The business document image is compared to a template database. If a matching template is found, document fields are defined and extracted. If no matching document template is found, the document image is compared to a skeleton database. If a matching document skeleton in found, document fields are defined and extracted. A document skeleton is generated and then stored in the template database. If no matching document skeletons are found in the skeleton database, document fields are manually extracted. A document skeleton is then generated from the identification of static and variable strings and stored in the skeleton database. Document fields are validated after all document fields have been extracted.

Abstract: A project management application provides an environment in which a user can transform a project sketch, which is based on mostly “freeform” data, into a defined project plan. The project management application facilitates the mixture of freeform task attribute values with structured attribute values of one or more project tasks. The project management application can utilize an internal calculation model to manage the relationships between task attribute values despite accepting freeform values for task attributes. The project management application calculates the attribute values to the extent allowed by the calculation model's recognition of the attribute values.

Abstract: The invention is a Forms Integration Toolkit (FIT) application, which is a zero-footprint software toolset that allows users to create forms without the need for software development. The FIT consists of a two-module forms tool and a two-module wizard tool. The forms tool modules are the FIT Configuration Manager and the FIT viewer. The FIT Wizard modules are the Wizard Configuration Manager and the Wizard Viewer. Several unique features differentiate the FIT from other forms tools on the market including the ability to specify a form and mapping instructions for populating multiple targets, including databases and web-services, with information received through the form in a single submit event.

Abstract: A system and method is provided for implementing a dynamic form using file data retrieved from an external file source. An application executing on a server computer is responsive to a form request received from a user system computer to transform the retrieved file data into a format that includes new input elements. Unique namespaces are assigned to each of the new input elements, and the requested form and transformed file data are transmitted to the user system. The application is configured to create new XML file data that is mapped to the original XML file data in response to a user of the user system inputting data into the form. The new XML file data is compared to the original XML file data to identify missing elements. Missing elements are inserted into the new XML file data, and the new XML file data is stored in a memory.

Abstract: Various systems and methods for communicating enterprise information between an enterprise backend server and a mobile device are provided. For example, a middleware server may generate a formbuilder interface that allows a user to input form design information used to display a custom dynamic form. The form design information may include a plurality of form elements and an executable script that in part controls a behavior of the custom dynamic form. The custom dynamic form may be configured to prompt input of and receive the enterprise information. A value of a first one of the plurality of form elements may cause an action to be taken by the custom dynamic form, wherein the executable instruction when executed causes the action to be taken. The middleware server may communicate to the mobile device the plurality of form elements and the executable instruction. An operator of the mobile device may provide enterprise information using the custom dynamic form.

Abstract: The present invention provides for variable data printing by a print driver. Static print data is received, wherein the static print data is in a page description language. Variable print data is also received, wherein the variable print data comprises one or more sets of variable data. In addition, mapping rule data is received, wherein the mapping rule data comprises rules for mapping the one or more sets of variable data into the static print data. One or more modified versions of the static print data are generated, by applying the rules for mapping the one or more sets of variable data into the static print data. The one or more modified versions of the static print data are output for printing. As such, virtually any application can have VDP functionality, and a less complex VDP solution can be realized.

Second set data values are not displayed in the websheet in response to the client receiving the web page. A form displaying the second set is received by the client. Second set data values are updated on the form to provide an updated websheet configuration. Abstract: A method for optimizing forms includes generating a profile of a user of a web browser on a client computer and loading into the web browser a vendor form including a field to be filled in with information provided by the user. The form also includes a tag invoking a script-based engine. Software code is stored corresponding to a plurality of layers containing interactive instructions for assisting the user in filling in the field. Responsively to the tag, the script-based engine is loaded into the web browser. Responsively to at least one profile parameter of the user, a portion of the software code is selected and downloaded to the web browser, so that a layer from among the plurality of layers is displayed by the web browser. Via the displayed layer, input is received from the user for filling in the field.

Abstract: Aspects of the subject matter described herein relate to a page flow framework. In aspects, a page flow engine includes logic to navigate between pages. To make its determination of what page is next, the page flow engine uses an indication of the current page and may also use properties associated with the pages. These properties may be filled in as a user enters values on the pages, for example. The page flow engine does not need any additional information to determine the next page besides the current page and the properties. The page flow engine may also store the pages visited in a travel log. This may be used to return previous pages. The page flow engine allows the page flow logic to be removed from the pages and placed in a centralized component. This simplifies creation and maintenance of page flow.

Abstract: A system and method for automated processing requests for reviewing and approving business development materials, such as marketing flipbooks and request for proposals, etc., for compliance and performance approval employs an application server that presents a web-based request form. A requestor uses the request form to enter information regarding the approval request and to select reviewer. The application server then generates a request document and sends it with the business development materials to the selected reviewer(s). The request form and marketing presentation materials are archived in a database to allow real-time monitoring and future auditing.

Abstract: A computer system and method for generating a plurality of unique, randomly structured forms, such as invoices, that may be populated with data to produce test forms for testing automatic document processing systems. The forms may have major blocks such as a header, a body and a footer, and the major blocks may have randomly selected sizes. For each block, the locations of data fields and the ordering of the data fields within the block are defined randomly, the data locations within the fields and the data formats are randomly defined, and a blank image and an XML file of the randomly structured form are produced. The forms generated may be populated with data for the testing document processing system.

For example, a survey may be defined via a response definition file and a user interface definition file, thereby enabling the definition files to be read and the survey to be presented with the appropriate questions, validations, and transformations being specified by the response definition life, and with the look and feel being specified by the user interface definition file. Abstract: Systems and methods for generating dynamic form pages for accessing a database. An item model is stored in the database and defines attributes or characteristics of item types. The item model is separate from the actual data and from the data model. When a form page is requested, the page is dynamically generated by accessing the item model based on the requested form. The page is then displayed to the user. Data can be included in the page as necessary. Form pages can be generated on the fly and can automatically adapt to changes in the definition of the item model.
