Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to the administration of rebates in different geographic locations and optimization of rebate processing. In an embodiment, a rebate processing device can detect a location of a consumer, and based on the location generate a rebate form in a language which corresponds to the location or preference of the consumer. The generated rebate form can include a mailing address to mail the form for processing, which may based on the location of the consumer and a rebate identifier to identify the rebate to transact. A rebate center device can receive completed rebate forms, extract rebate identifiers from the completed rebate forms, and send the extracted rebate identifiers to the rebate processing device to expedite processing. Rebate processing device can verify the rebate identifiers are not fraudulent and generate a payment for the validated rebate identifiers based on the location of the consumer.

Abstract: A form processing system for processing electronic forms (e-form) forms while preserving the e-form fixed format is provided. The form processing system includes three functional modes or subsystems: the design mode, the edit mode and the view mode. The system, in design mode, designs form templates, manages permission and sets up dynamic workflow parameters. In the view mode, the form is read-only. The form looks like a regular PDF document. This mode is used for exporting data to e-form, printing form and sharing form by multiple users.

Abstract: A system and method for selective form configuration. According to an embodiment of the invention, an engine retrieves a form template from a data store, the form template specifying a plurality of form elements, parses the form template to identify one or more configurable form elements from the plurality of form elements, presents to a user via a user interface one or more selectable options specifying configuration settings to govern modifications of the one or more identified configurable form elements, receives from the user interface a selection of the one or more options provided by the user, generates a descriptor identifying the selected options provided by the user, and associates the descriptor with the form template.

Abstract: A relative ordering method is disclosed wherein generic items are ordered by using relative ordering information rather than explicit ordering information. The method allows items to be ordered relative to one another based on users' preferences.

Abstract: A method and system for applying input mode bias is disclosed. A schema is applied to an input field of an electronic document. The schema is associated with a grammar that defines the set of acceptable strings that may be input into the input field. When text is input into the input field, the schema is determined and the associated grammar is determined. The grammar is then sent to the input method. Based on the grammar, the input method may determine what text the user is trying to enter. The grammar may also be used to apply semantic categories to text input into a document. After the text is entered it is compared to a grammar. If the entered text matches the form of the grammar, then the schema is applied to the text as a semantic category.

Abstract: A portlet state maintenance system can include a portal page setup component configured to generate a logical form in a single portal page from a multiplicity of forms defined within portlet markup aggregated into the single portal page. A portal state save component further can be configured to save state values for selected portlets defined within the logical form. Finally, a portal state restore component can be configured to restore the saved state values in refreshed portlet markup for the selected portlets. Notably, a refresh timing component further can be configured to embed submit auto-initiation logic in the single portal page responsive to identifying a dynamic refresh requirement associated with the portlet markup in the single portal page. Finally, a portlet markup cache can be coupled to the portal state restore component.

Abstract: A method of generating a flexible automated workflow system includes identifying a workflow process, creating at least one form associated with the workflow process identified for display in a base language, generating a user interface version of the at least one form, and displaying the user interface version of the at least one form in the base language for use by a user. A user selectable option to translate includes providing at least one alternate translation of the user interface version of the at least one form into at least one alternate language when the at least one alternate translation was provided by a developer when the at least one form was created and an option to translate is selected by the user. Alternatively, the at least one translation of the user interface version of the at least one form can also be displayed when the at least one alternate translation is provided by a developer subsequent to creation of the at least one form.

Abstract: A method and system incorporate server-side application functionality into client-side web pages. A web page includes a script tag that identifies a location on a server from which to acquire script code when a browser processes the script tag. An application running on the server receives a request for a data entry form when the browser executes script associated with the script tag. In response to this request, the application generates the data entry form, in one embodiment configuring attributes of the data entry form in accordance with user-supplied information. The application transmits the data entry form to the browser and maintains a state of user interaction with the data entry form. The application can subsequently capture and save user-supplied data submitted through the data entry form, and, based on the captured user-supplied data, state of user interaction, or both, determine a next screen presentation for the browser to render.

Abstract: A document generation system produces a document from information derived from an information repository. The document generation system includes a source of code, a source of document generation control information, and a document processor. The source of code represents a document template including data fields containing placeholder items to be replaced by desired data items, and a repetition identifier indicating that one of the data fields is to be replicated to provide a group of data fields to be replaced by the desired data items. The source of document generation control information supports insertion of the desired data items derived from the information repository in the data fields. The document processor applies the control information in replacing template document data field placeholder items with desired data items to produce a generated document.

Abstract: A method for validating input received from an XML based form using reusable XPath validation expressions. The method can include a step of identifying a reusable XPath validation expression including at least one substitution marker. The substitution marker can be mapped to one or more values specific to an XML instance. At least one field to be validated with the reusable XPath validation expression can be designated utilizing the development tool. The development tool can automatically replace the substitution marker with the appropriate value specific to an XML instance.

Abstract: Methods, apparatus, and computer program products for dynamic generation of forms on devices such as mobile telephones. A device user enters a form descriptor code comprising a set of alphanumeric characters. A form generator applies stored mappings between the input characters and a set of electronic form components. This identifies required form components. The form generator dynamically generates an electronic form having the identified components, and displays the form on a display screen of the device. The device user completes the form and sends the completed form to a target data processing system. The dynamic generation of a form in response to a simple input code can be used to control the format of user-entered data, such that the data is validly formatted when received at the target.

Abstract: One embodiment in accordance with the invention relates to inserting data into a fixed electronic template form. For example, any publicly provided template form (e.g., IRS Tax Form for a Business) that may be provided in Portable Document Format (PDF) can be filled in with the proper data (e.g., XML data) which may be stored and calculated by a database. Specifically, there is the reception of a fixed electronic form. Data is mapped to a field of the fixed electronic form. Based on this mapping, the data is then merged with the field of the fixed electronic form in order to generate a completed electronic form.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to improved methods and systems for verifying a person's personal identification data. In one embodiment, the system includes programmatic modules stored on computer readable media. The programmatic modules receive login credentials from a computing device and verify credentials, generate and communicate a request form for accessing personal identification data associated with a person, receive input data from a computing device in response to a request form, test input data in relation to a minimum required data set for requesting personal identification data, format input data into an electronic request in accordance with a predefined format, store, search, and identify a consent form, which establishes a valid consent by a person to access personal identification data, associate the electronic request for a person's personal identification data with a consent form, and transmit the electronic request in accordance with a predefined format to another computing device.

Abstract: Methods for efficiently publishing electronic versions of traditionally paper-based government forms and utilizing the electronic forms for web-based transactional services are disclosed. Standard paper-based government forms are automatically converted to XML format, including data fields for entry of information by customers. Multiple electronic forms are accessible to the customer at a single access point, such as a web site. At the web site, the customer selects a form for filing with any of a plurality of government agencies. When presented to the customer, the selected form is presented with some of its data fields being pre-populated according to information retrieved from a database and specific to that customer. The customer completes the form, and a back-end system integrated with the web site handles the completed form, determines the appropriate government agency for filing the form, and transmits it as a transaction to the determined government agency.

Abstract: Systems and methods receive link fragments and component fragments for assembly into a template. The component fragments comprise editable portions of a document. The link fragments comprise references to other component fragments. A further aspect of the systems and methods includes assembling multiple templates into a formset. The templates included in the formset may be dynamically selected at runtime. Conflicts between references in the templates that make up the formset are resolved and a new form may be created.

Abstract: A system and method of providing dynamic and customizable medical forms is disclosed. In certain specific embodiments, these dynamic and customizable medical forms may be automatically presented to users based on a predefined series of rules which allow multiple users having different roles in the clinical process to collaborate and contribute to a medical examination report, while at the same time maintaining an independent record of what was contributed and by whom it was contributed.

Abstract: A system and method is provided to enable an e-mail to display a Web-based form. A definition concerning an e-mail address may include form schema owned by a Web site. Alternatively, the definition may contain a link to a Web service that provides the form schema. Abstract: A method of aiding a user in using features of a software application comprises receiving from a user a selection of layout. The layout is to be used in creating an informational display for displaying results of a data repository query. At least one input field and an image are displayed to the user. The image is of a sample informational display that is based on the selected layout. The at least one input field is displayed in association with at least one feature shown in the displayed sample image. A user input is received via the input field. The user input is to be used in modifying the at least one feature in the new informational display. That least one input field may be displayed on top of the displayed sample image, in close proximity to the shown feature.

The Web form can be written in a markup language based upon a Standard Generalized Mark-up Language (SGML). The Web form can include a repeating structure that references a collection of data items. The repeated item section can present the data items in a tabular format. The repeated item section can also include multiple selectors, one selector corresponding to each data item. The collection control section can include at least one user selectable collection actuator, such as a button, that performs a function associated with the actuator upon only those designated data items in the collection for which a corresponding selector has been chosen.

Abstract: Techniques for generating a report of a plurality of business warehouse system queries are described. Such techniques may identify one or more row types for each query. Thereafter, a template may be defined for each row type within a query that defines a format and a pattern for the row type. The template may be applied to query data for each query according to the row type to generate a sub-report. The sub-reports may be combined to generate an aggregated reports. Related apparatus and computer program products are also provided.

Abstract: Systems and/or methods (“tools”) are described that convert or present conversion problems for electronic documents. The tools may convert a generally unstructured electronic document to a generally structured electronic document using non-visual textual and layout information of the unstructured document. Abstract: The invention describes programming methods that allow unmodified web-browsers to reproduce the rich display, interactivity, printing, and reliability only found previously with specialist electronic form software. Embodiments of the inventions include improving the display of forms created with images and HTML form elements, enhanced control of entry of data in form fields, enhanced printing, multipage forms working offline, and forms and data being saved offline.

In this way, the data capture process, including generation of the form and display of user input prompts, can be carried out on any computing platform independent of the system used to generate a data capture definition file that specifies the intent of the data capture requirements. The specification of data elements required during data capture, each having a type specification and a logical relationship relative to other data elements in a hierarchical structure are defined in a data capture definition file in a predetermined format.

Abstract: A user is provided with access to his or her account information using a client. The account information is stored on a server which receives the information from a feed source and transmits the information to the client. A method for downloading and installing specialized software for viewing the account information on the client is also provided. The information can be received from different feed sources in different formats and converted to a format that is compatible with the intended receiving client. Encryption can be used to protect the privacy of the users of the system and the account information therein. Additionally, a special access password and a privileged access routine can be used to provide access to an authorized third party user on a temporary basis.

Abstract: A form pooling system allows efficient management of various forms used by a computer application. The form pooling system provides a close form module and an open form module to manage closing and opening various forms related to the application. The form pooling system significantly reduces form load time for complex forms by not having to re-create a form each time a client requests a form. The form pool may contain various types of previously used modeless forms and manages an upper limit of the number of forms that may be pooled to limit memory overhead. A form used in the form pooling system may be designed in a manner such that the form performs an unbinding operation when it is placed in a form pool and it performs a rebinding operation every time that form is retrieved from the form pool.

To generate a UI form that can be rendered on different types of display targets metadata stored in at least one application is transformed to build a logical user interface (UI) representation. The UI form is rendered on at least one of the different types of display targets based on the logical UI representation. Data and form layout from the at least one application is accessed for representation in the logical UI representation. The rendered UI form is populated with the data represented in the logical UI representation to provide content for the rendered UI form.

A deep web mining tool may be utilized to exploit the deep web by understanding forms, search engines and results pages. Moreover, deep web mining tool may be utilized to extract and exploit structured and unstructured content and metadata from web sites and documents, generate queries, capture and re-link web sites, crawl through web sites and non-HTML files and perform other aspects of obtaining and/or evaluating information.

Abstract: Some embodiments provide a system and method for automatedly aggregating medically related data and disseminating different sets of the aggregated data to two or more different members of a medical care provider. Some embodiments automatedly and intelligently disseminate the aggregated data such that the data that is written once to the data storage solution is usable for a multitude of purposes within the functions of the medical care provider. Some embodiments intelligently disseminate the aggregated data by disseminating only relevant sub-components of the data to different members of the medical care provider based on the needs of the members such that different members receive different subsets of the data.
