Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to the administration of rebates in different geographic locations and optimization of rebate processing. In an embodiment, a rebate processing device can detect a location of a consumer, and based on the location generate a rebate form in a language which corresponds to the location or preference of the consumer. The generated rebate form can include a mailing address to mail the form for processing, which may based on the location of the consumer and a rebate identifier to identify the rebate to transact. A rebate center device can receive completed rebate forms, extract rebate identifiers from the completed rebate forms, and send the extracted rebate identifiers to the rebate processing device to expedite processing. Rebate processing device can verify the rebate identifiers are not fraudulent and generate a payment for the validated rebate identifiers based on the location of the consumer.

  • Patent number: 7778816
Abstract: A method and system for applying input mode bias is disclosed. A schema is applied to an input field of an electronic document. The schema is associated with a grammar that defines the set of acceptable strings that may be input into the input field. When text is input into the input field, the schema is determined and the associated grammar is determined. The grammar is then sent to the input method. Based on the grammar, the input method may determine what text the user is trying to enter. The grammar may also be used to apply semantic categories to text input into a document. After the text is entered it is compared to a grammar. If the entered text matches the form of the grammar, then the schema is applied to the text as a semantic category.

Abstract: A method and system incorporate server-side application functionality into client-side web pages. A web page includes a script tag that identifies a location on a server from which to acquire script code when a browser processes the script tag. An application running on the server receives a request for a data entry form when the browser executes script associated with the script tag. In response to this request, the application generates the data entry form, in one embodiment configuring attributes of the data entry form in accordance with user-supplied information. The application transmits the data entry form to the browser and maintains a state of user interaction with the data entry form. The application can subsequently capture and save user-supplied data submitted through the data entry form, and, based on the captured user-supplied data, state of user interaction, or both, determine a next screen presentation for the browser to render.

  • Patent number: 7752537
Abstract: Methods, apparatus, and computer program products for dynamic generation of forms on devices such as mobile telephones. A device user enters a form descriptor code comprising a set of alphanumeric characters. A form generator applies stored mappings between the input characters and a set of electronic form components. This identifies required form components. The form generator dynamically generates an electronic form having the identified components, and displays the form on a display screen of the device. The device user completes the form and sends the completed form to a target data processing system. The dynamic generation of a form in response to a simple input code can be used to control the format of user-entered data, such that the data is validly formatted when received at the target.

Abstract: A graphical user interface, for use in generating a definition of an automated response mechanism to be used in automatically communicating when a response occasion occurs, comprises screens (272, 282, 288, 316, 322) which present, in two side by side columns (286, 284, 290, 292), a list of selectable items and a list of those items which have been selected, items being transferrable from one column to the other. Selected items are implemented in the automated response. Selectable items include the media (284, 286) for the communication, criteria definitions (310, 320, 312) to be fulfilled or not for an item to be used, fixed (302) text and variable data (304) items in selectable idioms and languages for each medium, and for use when different criteria are fulfilled, and place holders for defining the physical locations in the one or more media responses of items used.

  • Patent number: 7607078
Abstract: A method for processing forms in a computer system includes receiving from a human operator a design of a unified from template including data fields and respective attributes. Paper forms and electronic forms (e-forms) are automatically produced based on the unified form template. Filled-in paper forms and filled-in e-forms are accepted from the clients of the computer system, the filled-in forms including data items filled into the respective data fields by the clients. The data items are extracted from the filled-in paper forms and the filled-in e-forms responsively to the unified form template.

  • Patent number: 7600182
Abstract: Apparatus for automatically building an electronic form for presentation to a user during a data capture process segregates the data capture intent behind the form from the presentation and execution of the form to a data capture user. In this way, the data capture process, including generation of the form and display of user input prompts, can be carried out on any computing platform independent of the system used to generate a data capture definition file that specifies the intent of the data capture requirements. The specification of data elements required during data capture, each having a type specification and a logical relationship relative to other data elements in a hierarchical structure are defined in a data capture definition file in a predetermined format.

Abstract: A user is provided with access to his or her account information using a client. The account information is stored on a server which receives the information from a feed source and transmits the information to the client. A method for downloading and installing specialized software for viewing the account information on the client is also provided. The information can be received from different feed sources in different formats and converted to a format that is compatible with the intended receiving client. Encryption can be used to protect the privacy of the users of the system and the account information therein. Additionally, a special access password and a privileged access routine can be used to provide access to an authorized third party user on a temporary basis.

  • Patent number: 7590932
Abstract: Certain exemplary embodiments of the present invention provide a method for creating an electronic form for use in healthcare management. The method can comprise initiating generation of at least one display image supporting a user in: selecting a template form from a repository of template forms; modifying said selected template form by linking a user selected object from a predetermined list of objects with a user selected data field of said selected template form, objects in said predetermined list being associated with at least one of, (a) a particular role of a healthcare worker and (b) a particular activity being performed in providing healthcare to a patient, said selected object being usable in determining a query to be used in soliciting data for entry in said user selected data field; and associating a name with said modified form. The method can also comprise storing said modified form in response to user command.

  • Patent number: 7590931
Abstract: A form pooling system allows efficient management of various forms used by a computer application. The form pooling system provides a close form module and an open form module to manage closing and opening various forms related to the application. The form pooling system significantly reduces form load time for complex forms by not having to re-create a form each time a client requests a form. The form pool may contain various types of previously used modeless forms and manages an upper limit of the number of forms that may be pooled to limit memory overhead. A form used in the form pooling system may be designed in a manner such that the form performs an unbinding operation when it is placed in a form pool and it performs a rebinding operation every time that form is retrieved from the form pool.

Abstract: User interface (UI) forms are rendered on different types of display targets. To generate a UI form that can be rendered on different types of display targets metadata stored in at least one application is transformed to build a logical user interface (UI) representation. The UI form is rendered on at least one of the different types of display targets based on the logical UI representation. Data and form layout from the at least one application is accessed for representation in the logical UI representation. The rendered UI form is populated with the data represented in the logical UI representation to provide content for the rendered UI form.
