Abstract: An interface and display of video from multiple fixed-position cameras is provided. A main video stream captured by a camera is selected to be the main video stream and is displayed to the interface. Video streams captured by the set of cameras and the main camera that are temporally related to the displayed main video stream are selected, including playback positions from one or more of a first segment of time in each of their respective video streams at the time of the main video stream, a second segment of time in each of their respective video streams prior to the time of the main video stream, and a third segment of time in each of their respective video streams after the time of the main video stream. The selected video streams are displayed to the interface in temporal relation to the display of the main video stream.

Abstract: A method for providing a customizable trading display of market instrument data includes selecting a subset from a plurality of quadrants, with each quadrant associated with one benchmark instrument and each benchmark instrument associated with one or more non-benchmark instruments. Market data is automatically retrieved for the instruments associated with each selected quadrant. A customizable trading display is generated, with the display comprising the subset of quadrants in a selectable layout and each quadrant presenting the associated market data.

The extraction unit is configured to extract a layout variable used for acquiring an evaluation value for a plurality of layout evaluation items used to evaluate a layout of a document, if any layout evaluation item among the plurality of layout evaluation values exists that does not satisfy a layout evaluation reference value. The adjustment unit is configured to adjust a value of the layout variable to satisfy the layout evaluation reference value. A method of processing an object-based image file with content type dependent image processing algorithms, comprising the steps of: rasterizing the image, segmenting the rasterized image into segments that are distinguished by pre-defined content types, deriving, from the image file, a display list with objects to be included in the image, associating each object with one of the segments on the basis of a spatial relationship between the object and the segments, selecting, for each object, an image processing algorithm based on the content type of the associated segment, and processing each object with the selected algorithm.

One method optimizes the order of HTTP requests made during the downloading of a web page or web application comprising a plurality of objects, and receiving a first portion of the plurality of objects in a first order. Additionally, (i) a viewable section of the web page, (ii) centers of the viewable section of the web page and each of the plurality of objects, and (iii) a distance from the center of the viewable section of the web page to the center of each of the plurality of objects may be determined. Furthermore, the objects may then be prioritized based on their distance from the center of the viewable section. A request to receive at least one additional portion of the objects in a second order based on the prioritization of the objects may then be sent.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method, terminal, and computer program for presenting a markup language document which contains a frameset. The method comprises the steps of interpreting the instructions in the document so that no scrollbars are displayed in the individual frames. The frames may be displayed in a reformatted manner, e.g., with expanded dimensions and/or reformatted contents. Such reformatting of the displayed frames does not require any revision of the markup language document.

Abstract: A system and method provides a user interface on an electronic device with a listing of the most recently used or viewed items that is organized by the category of item. A menu containing the most recently read items is separated into separate categories such as books and periodicals. The menu displays the most recently opened item in each of the categories. In this manner, one category will not dominate over the other categories on the menu.

Abstract: Disclosed embodiments provide a system, machine-readable medium and a method that may generate user-defined task management device. A system for navigating through a number of different computer applications to complete a task. In a graphical user interface generated by a processor, a screenflow template is presented to a user via a list of screens, tasks and applications outlining steps in a process. Based on user inputs, a user-defined screenflow may be generated that incorporates screens for data entry and informational purposes, intermediate tasks for completion of the process, and computer applications for processing inputted and retrieved data. A screen of the user-defined screenflow may access data storage to obtain data required to complete the task.

Abstract: As part of a document summary view system, a miniaturized version of a document is provided that presents a summary overview of the document over a user interface, enabling a user to easily read and distinguish the contents of the document. The summary view may preserve a basic format and/or layout of a document and may retain the core elements within the document including headings, bulleted lists, tables, images, and/or the first sentence of each paragraph, and obscure any remaining text and elements.

Abstract: A storage medium includes multimedia image data, and text-based subtitle data for displaying subtitles on an image based on the multimedia image data, wherein the text-based subtitle data includes dialog information indicating subtitle contents to be displayed on the image, style information indicating an output style of the dialog information, and partial style information indicating an output style applied to a portion of the dialog information. Accordingly, subtitles can be provided in a plurality of languages without being limited to a particular number of units of subtitle data. In addition, subtitle data can be easily produced and edited. Likewise, an output style of the subtitle data can be changed in a variety of ways. Also, a special style can be applied in order to emphasize a portion of the subtitles.

A report view definition may be implemented as a metadata-based mapping of logical reports to physical reports for scorecards and KPIs. Reports are categorized based on their presentation size and/or type. Categorized report attributes included in the report view metadata are managed by a configuration UI. The report view metadata further includes schema, ordering capabilities, and mapping UI such as re-use of report views in multiple areas.

Abstract: A system and method are described for automatically generating style sheet formatting for stylistic edits to a Web page in a Web development environment. The Web development environment detects the user's selection of particular content of the Web page and captures any stylistic changes that the user makes to the content. Using the stylistic changes, the Web development environment searches a style data structure to determine whether any style rules already exist that correspond to the user's stylistic changes. If the Web development environment does not find a pre-existing style rule, it automatically generates one or more style rules for the stylistic edits and associates those rules with the selected content. If a pre-existing style rule exists within the style data structure, the Web development environment assigns the pre-existing style rule to the selected content.

Abstract: A method and system for presenting a document to a plurality of media device types optimized for the display medium. A document is generated in a markup language, and a plurality of style sheets are provided for formatting the document for a requesting device, with each style sheet accommodating a distinct display environment. The markup elements that reference two separate cascading style sheets (CSS) are configured differently such that they isolate the CSS reference for either high-resolution graphical display devices or small screen, low-resolution graphical display devices. A third style sheet is used as an intermediary to pass a CSS reference to small screen browsers while at the same time, shielding the CSS reference from certain high resolution browsers incapable of parsing the syntax of the reference.

Abstract: A method of composing a web page is described. The method includes transmitting an authoring web page including an embedded authoring tool to a client computer using a network. Abstract: Creation and maintenance of a web page can be facilitated using an interactive web application that runs in a browser at a client machine. The interactive web application can be provided to the client machine over a network by a development application at a server. Using the interactive web application, a user can configure various aspects of a web page, including but not limited to layout, colors, fonts, tools, live dynamic content, and the like, directly on the sever without knowledge of mark-up language coding or other techniques such as cascading style sheets.

Abstract: Some embodiments of the invention provide a computer-based application that allows its users to insert their pictures in a variety of different photo books. Each photo book has several pages that have one or more picture fields for presenting pictures. Different photo books can differ in their size, themes, covers, page designs, page colors, picture-field designs, picture-field layouts, and/or other attributes. In some embodiments, the application also allows the users to modify photo books that they select. For instance, a user can modify the page design, color, frame design, and/or other thematic aspects of a selected photo books. Also, in some embodiments, the user can add picture and text fields to the photo book. Once the user has completed designing the photo book and inserting pictures in the photo book, the user can order the photo book through an online transaction that is initiated through the application.

An activation control can accept input entered within the user selectable position control when selected. Activation of the activation control can result in the Web page being reconfigured so that the position of the Web page components corresponds to positions specified by the position controls. In one embodiment, the user interface can be an accessibility option for users having difficulty with a drag and drop interface.

In this way, the contents of a patent specification can be formed.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are provided for providing a dynamic loupe for displayed information of a document. The displayed information can be provided in various sub-regions of the document. Based on the position of an input relative to a particular sub-region, the loupe can be sized and positioned such that a portion of information from the sub-region is displayed in the loupe. The portion of information can be displayed using a loupe scale factor that may differ from a scale factor used for the rest of the displayed information. The loupe position can be selected such that the contents and or position of the loupe may be biased towards a particular sub-region.

Abstract: Methods, machines, and machine-readable media for arranging images on pages of an album are described. In one aspect, an album has multiple potential states each corresponding to a respective arrangement of the images on the pages. In accordance with one method, the album is received in an initial state. A series of successive states from the initial state to an end state is determined. Each of the successive states is selected from candidate states in a respective neighborhood of a corresponding preceding one of the states in the series based on a heuristic evaluation of the candidate states.

A location is received from a pointing device and one of the plurality of display instances is displayed based on the received location.

Abstract: An intermediary such as a gateway will intercept a markup document being sent in a response message from a web server to a client station and will determine that the client station does not have stored locally the set of objects necessary to render the markup document. The intermediary will then modify the response message to include both the markup document and the necessary set of objects. Upon receipt of the response, the client station will extract and store the objects as non-cached objects, to be used when rendering the markup document. Preferably the client station is a cell phone.

Abstract: In one embodiment, the invention provides a method, comprising: receiving a query from a user computer device; determining what custom messages are applicable based on the query; and delivering any applicable custom messages to the user computer device. The messages may be selected and customized based on a customization control parameter. In one embodiment, the customization control parameter may include the interface language, the regional settings, and the version of the product. Advantageously, trial versions of dictionaries may have different messages from paid or non-trial versions. For example, for the trial versions, a warning message will be sent informing the user that the trial period is about to expire. Additionally, the server device has the capability to detect whether the version used by a user is bootleg or not, and send customized messages to users of bootleg versions.

Abstract: Implementing a digital contact sheet generator includes receiving input parameters from a remotely located user to create a table. The table includes one or more table cells, each of which comprises a text cell and an image cell. The input parameters define an appearance of the contact sheet and the table. Each table cell is formatted by selecting an image from a set of source media and calculating a size of the image cell associated with the particular table cell. A location of the image cell within the particular table cell is then determined and the image is resized. The image cell is repositioned and the resized image is drawn in the image cell.

Abstract: Determining a total dimension of items in computer-based user interface control (e.g., non-uniform items displayed in grid-view), may be accomplished by determining an estimated dimension value (e.g., for all items in a series) and combining (e.g., multiplying) that value with a total number of items (e.g., items in the series). If a viewport offset value and viewport item value is known, and/or a previously realized dimension and previously realized item value is known, the estimated dimension value may be determined by combining one or more of these values with values for realized items. Otherwise, the estimated dimension value can be determined by dividing the realized items dimensions value by the number of realized items. A total dimension value may be used by a user interface element, for example, to calculate an appropriate size and location of a scroll bar display.

Abstract: A method for managing multiple columns in a document. The method includes obtaining a text stream from the document; obtaining a current fill limit associated with an initial column of the multiple columns; placing, using a layout engine, the text stream within the multiple columns according to the current fill limit; identifying, after placing the text stream, a first fill level of a final column of the multiple columns; calculating a first difference between the current fill limit and the first fill level of the final column; calculating, in response to the first difference exceeding a tolerance, a revised fill limit based on the current fill limit; placing, using the layout engine, the text stream within the multiple columns according to the revised fill limit.
