The acquiring unit acquires image feature information included in a target image on which a marker of a specified size is to be placed. The generating unit generates, in accordance with image feature information included in an area of the target image in which a marker of a specified size is to be placed, display information indicating an area suitable for placing the marker on the target image. The output unit outputs the display information so that the display information is displayed while being superposed on the target image.

Abstract: A system is provided that includes a localization module configured to receive and process range measurements and odometry data relative to a physical instance of a complex system to calculate an unknown location within a coordinate system of the complex system. A search engine configured to identify a document component that depicts an element of the complex system at or within a volume about the location. The document component is from a collection for which at least some components depict elements of the complex system and have associated metadata that includes information reflecting the 3D geometry of at least some depicted elements. A layout engine configured to generate a layout of panoptically-arranged document components including the identified document component and other document component(s) identified according to the associated metadata for the identified document component, which further includes information identifying a link between the respective document components.

Abstract: A specification document, such as a specification of a product, is automatically generated. A modular database structure is used to populate a template. Product modifications are incorporated, resulting in change, alteration, or different data being in the specification than without the modification. For example, a modification may result in the use of a different enclosure for the as-built product. The specification document includes dimension values, images, and/or other information representing the modification and the as-built product rather than a base product without the modification.

Abstract: A system and methods are disclosed to automatically extract data from documents, such as scanned paper forms and/or digital forms that need to be pre-configured to understand a layout for the forms to be processed. The system extracts data from the form definition at a two dimensional barcode and dynamically configures a workflow with services for extracting desired user filled information from the data fields present on the form. Support for a re-flowable service is provided.

Abstract: Methods and computer programs for automatically creating a text layout in an electronic design for a product to be printed. A number of defined text elements are available for user text entries. The product layout is based a user-selected image, if any, and on the text elements having user-supplied text content. Text elements without text content are disregarded. Positioning of user text entries is determined based on the size of the text entries, defined text element spacing distances, and defined positioning rules. Creating a layout incorporating user-supplied text entries and/or image may include cropping or resizing of other design elements in the product design and wrapping of relatively long text entries onto multiple lines.

Abstract: A method for rendering a page, including: obtaining an electronic document comprising a text stream and an anchor corresponding to a graphical object and specifying a first displacement of the graphical object relative to the anchor; placing the text stream within a region of the page; identifying a first location on the page corresponding to the anchor; calculating an area on the page for placing the graphical object; marking the graphical object as pinned; initiating a second layout of the page; placing the text stream on the page by wrapping a portion of the text stream around the area; identifying a second location on the page corresponding to the anchor, where the second position and the area are separated by a second displacement distinct from the first displacement; and outputting the page with at least the portion of the text stream and with the graphical object occupying the area.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable storage media for a continuous photo view on a browser-type application are disclosed. The system can receive a request to display a set of images associated with a user account. The system can generate a web page based on a size of the content items, the web page having a respective placeholder for each of the content items in an area of the web page that is relative to a visible portion of the web page, wherein the web page can provide a continuous presentation of the content items on a device, and wherein the web page can be configured to dynamically load and unload content items based on a current position of the web page.

Pages of digital documents are retrieved from servers and desired objects are displayed on a client computer. The human viewer's context is deduced from attributes of the object to determine further processing, including mobile advertising display.

Abstract: A method, apparatus, and computer-readable medium are provided for creating and laying out a graphic within a drawing application program. The method includes receiving a data model defining a set of data and data relationships to be represented in the graphic, receiving a graphic definition describing the mapping of the data from the data model to a set of algorithms, algorithm parameters, constraints, constraint rules, and shape properties, determining a shape size and position for the layout nodes utilizing the set of algorithms, constraints, and constraint rules from the graphic definition, and creating a list of shapes and shape properties for the graphic, including size and position. The method further includes determining if the graphic fits a given layout into a specific area based on the set of constraint values and if the graphic does not fit the specific area, then modifying the set of constraint values using the constraint rules.

Abstract: A method includes generating a content editing command file devoid of content by editing content. The content editing command file may be used to edit other copies of the same content that was edited to generate the content editing command file. Multiple content editing command files having some variability may be combined to form an aggregated content editing command file.

Abstract: Certain embodiments of the present application allow a user to preview a plurality of cards on a portable computing device, select a card from the plurality of cards, and modify the selected card. One example method of operation may include accessing a customizable data input templates stored in memory, selecting one of the customizable data input templates, inputting data to incorporate into the selected customizable data input template and transmitting the data to the remote server to be saved. The changes may be presented to the user in a preview with the inputted data overlaid on the predefined area of the customizable data input template, the preview may permit an acceptance option to finalize or reject the customizable data input template. The finalized customizable data input template may be saved as an acceptance message is received.

Abstract: Determination of content style attributes of an image having content thereon is disclosed. The content may be a paragraph of text with a column layout designation. The content style attribute determination may include determining one or more of paragraph alignment, vertical and horizontal margin values, indentation, line spacing, and tracking values. The content style attributes may be determined for each paragraph separately or by grouping paragraphs by the column layout designation. The content style attributes may be used to format content in images for presentation on end user devices.

Abstract: An information processing apparatus that converts PDL data into PDL data having a hierarchical structure is provided. The information processing apparatus: acquires the number of records in PDL data and creates a template including nodes in a record layer, which correspond to records in a one-to-one relationship and are equal to the number of records, based on the number of records; inputs PDL data and acquires relational information indicating the relation between a page and a record both included in PDL data; adds nodes in a lower layer of the record layer, which are linked with the nodes in the record layer included in the created template, and sets attribute information about PDL data to each of the nodes in the lower layer of the record layer; and maps each page included in PDL data to each node in the lower layer of the record layer based on relational information.

Abstract: Techniques for layout-based page capture. A user selection performs a selection defining an area of interest based on the layout of an electronic document. The program retrieves electronic documents based on the defined area of interest. The selection can be performed visually on a rendering of the electronic document thereby providing the user with visual feedback as to what content has been selected. The selection can be applied across multiple electronic documents.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for providing a navigation interface to access or otherwise use electronic content items. In one embodiment, an augmentation application identifies at least one entity referenced in a document. The entity can be referenced in at least two portions of the document by at least two different words or phrases. The augmentation application associates the at least one entity with at least one multimedia asset. The augmentation application generates a layout including at least some content of the document referencing the at least one entity and the at least one multimedia asset associated with the at least one entity. The augmentation application renders the layout for display.

The system and method creates visual perspectives of data that accelerate decision-making and problem-solving processes by displaying repeatable images (tiles) that display performance results versus expected performance criteria in high-volume, intuitive displays.

Abstract: An embodiment of the invention provides a method where a file is displayed on a display screen of a mobile device; and, a pop-up is identified outside of the visible area on the display screen of the mobile device. The identification of the pop-up includes detecting a document object model change in the file, the presence of one or more non-active elements in the file, and/or a change in luminance in an area outside of the visible area on the display screen. A controller moves the pop-up to the visible area on the display screen, or the visible area on the display screen is moved to the pop-up.

Abstract: A document previewing system includes a display device including a user interface and a document previewing engine coupled to the display device. The document previewing engine is configured to download an outline of a document including outline features and filler content in between the outline features. The filler content replaces secondary content of the document. The document previewing engine is further configured to display the outline on the display device, and download the secondary content corresponding to an outline feature in response to a user navigating to the outline feature and the outline feature displaying on the display device for a period of time.

Abstract: Constraints and rules are defined for one or more content objects. The constraints are utilized to lay out content objects on a canvas. Content is received for one of the content objects. The constraints and rules for the content object are utilized in an attempt to fit the content to the selected content object. If the content cannot be fit to the selected content object, the rules are utilized to modify the constraints for the other content objects and the layout for the canvas is regenerated. If the available content cannot be fit to the content objects on a page without overflowing, one or more additional pages are added to the canvas. Once the additional pages have been added, the content objects are laid out and content is fitted to the content objects across all of the pages.

The attributes are applied to the associated objects in the region while applying the modification to other objects to maintain a pre-modification appearance of the region after the modification.

The disclosure teaches a Composite Content Generator, which provides a straightforward, unified, and transparent interface that presents users with the ability to customize publication purchases. The methods receive image, text, and graphics into the initial sample design from the first user and the user tags such image, text and graphics with VDP pattern elements. The processes of receiving the image, text, and graphics and tagging alter the initial sample design into the tagged sample design. Further, the methods and systems can automatically convert the tagged sample design into at least one different format file. The methods and systems can automatically provide the different format file to at least one second user. Additionally, the second user can include data components into the different format file to support the composition of a targeted marketing campaign sample.

When a user inputs contents of the initial files to the server, the server obtains a template for each initial file. The server searches for contents of all columns in each template from the parameters and the input contents. The searched contents are put in the columns of each template. The templates with the put contents are generated to object files corresponding to the initial files.

Abstract: A content management system (CMS) includes a value-add application with a first set of XML content services, one or more dedicated XML processing servers with a second and other sets of XML content services, and a core CMS with a third set of XML content services. The content management system may be designed to provide XML content services at any of these three tiers of processing. A first threshold is defined that allows the value-add application to determine when to offload XML content services to a dedicated XML processing server. A second threshold is defined that allows the core CMS to determine when to offload XML content services to a dedicated XML processing server. Callback services are included that allow each tier of XML content services to send or receive additional information to complete the XML processing. The result is a content management system that is very powerful and flexible.

Abstract: DY-Internet/SCHA system of using an interactive device such as an e-mail pager to obtain information from a publicly available source, such as the Internet. The e-mail pager may send information in its native format to a service that acts as an intermediary. That service takes the information and uses it to assemble a request to the actual information source, such as a Web page being accessed. If a web page is being accessed, the request is in HTML, and may include personal logon information. The response from the web page is also in HTML, and this information is received by the service, and salient information is taken from the HTML file. The information is reformatted, e.g. according to a template, into the e-mail pager's native format, and sent to the pager. Another embodiment describes opening multiple pages, and assembling their content into a single web page.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems and methods for the production of accented presentations using pre-defined templates and material, which presentations may be in a printed or scrap-booked format. A server system may be made available to clients over a network, that server providing templates, patterns and associated material, the server providing a client with executable instructions enabling a user to make selections to a final accented presentation. The server system may receive an order including an identification of a template and user selections, and may include an interpretive and production system that fabricates a final accented presentation, or a part of fabrication and/or assembly thereof. Detailed information on various example embodiments of the inventions are provided in the Detailed Description below, and the inventions are defined by the appended claims.

Abstract: In a case wherein a drop area of a capture window is clicked with a mouse and text is entered through a keyboard, a CPU of a computer device changes the drop area of a capture window to an edit area which displays text characters that were entered from the keyboard. The CPU changes the capture button to a print button used to enter a command for text printing. If the print button is clicked with the mouse, the CPU outputs the text which is displayed on the edit area to a tape printer as print data.

Some embodiments generate visual representations of package files by extracting a list of display elements of a package file, each display element representative of a content file or a content folder including one or more content files included in the package file; extracting a presentation specification from the package file; and presenting a view of the package file as a function of the presentation specification and the list of display elements.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide a method and a system of detecting source code in a message being sent over a digital communication network to secure against unauthorized leakage of source code. The message is intercepted on a network device, placed into a memory on the network device, and divided into one or more segments, wherein each segment includes a predetermined number of lines of text from the message. For each segment, one or more syntax rules of a programming language is applied to the segment and a predetermined number of context lines of text before the segment and/or after the segment, to determine which of the syntax rules of the programming language are matched in the segment. A determination of whether the text message includes source code is provided based on the syntax rules that were matched.

Abstract: In a method for searching for a previously visited web page, a first computer receives a plurality of search parameters from a second computer. The plurality of search parameters include a parameter identifying a characteristic of an element of a previously visited web page and a parameter identifying a weight of confidence in a recollection of a user that the element has the characteristic. The first computer searches for the characteristic of the element in a database including one or more characteristics of elements of indexed web pages. The first computer finds a match between the characteristic of the element and a characteristic of an element of an indexed web page of the indexed web pages. The first computer creates a list including an identification of the indexed web page. The first computer sends the list to the second computer.

Abstract: An image grouping device which may comprise a first classifying unit for classifying a plurality of items of image data in a first predetermined unit, a second classifying unit for breaking the plurality of the items of image data classified by the first classifying unit into smaller groups in a second predetermined unit, and a control unit for controlling the plurality of the items of image data classified by the second classifying unit to be displayed on a display. The control unit may automatically select a background image according to background music during a slide show.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes constructing a plurality of versions of a first content item respectively for a plurality of device platforms, the first content item comprising one or more second content items. For each version of the first content item corresponding to a specific device platform, selecting at least one of the second content items to be included in the version of the first content item based on a screen configuration of the specific device platform; and arranging the at least one of the second content items for presentation on a screen of the specific device platform according to the screen configuration of the specific device platform.

Abstract: A system, computer-implemented method and computer-readable medium for displaying content are provided. In an embodiment, content for display within a tiled interface and a screen size for display of the tiled interface are determined. Grid segments of the tiled interface are determined based on the content and the screen size. The grid segments are grouped into tiles of the tiled interface based on a relative importance of the articles. The content is displayed on the tiled interface within the tiles of the tiled interface.

Abstract: Display of a webpage or similar file may require content from a remote source (i.e., content stored in a memory not associated with the device on which the webpage is being displayed). In cases where that remote content is unavailable or unusually slow in being provided, or the display system is unable to display the remote content (e.g., required features are disabled or not present), secondary local content provided with the webpage file may be displayed in its place. Upon requesting the remote content a timer is started. If the remote content is not available by the expiration of the timer, the secondary local content is displayed in its place. The secondary local content may be of similar type to the remote content, e.g., targeted merchandising, as determined by the webpage author.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method and system for generation of page templates are provided. The method includes providing a document in computer memory. Using a computer processor, page elements within the document are identified and labeled. For each page of the document, a set of geometric relations between pairs of page elements co-occurring on the page is computed, and the set of geometric relations is associated with the page. The method also includes generating a set of page template candidates based at least in part on the computed geometric relations, selecting page templates from the set of page template candidates, and outputting the selected page templates.

Abstract: An apparatus according to the present invention comprises: a region extraction unit configured to extract region data for each object from document image data including tables; a table structure analysis unit configured to analyze the region data relating to table objects out of the extracted region data and extract table structure information on each of the table objects; a sheet generation unit configured to generate a display sheet for reproducing a layout of the object in the document image data and an edit sheet for each table for editing the table, by using the region data and the table structure information on each object; and an electronic-document generation unit configured to generate an electronic document which associated the display sheet with the edit sheet.

Abstract: A method of creating a template for presenting content within a document. The method includes defining a plurality of components, each including at least one content region and at least one of a frame, a template perimeter and an object. A number of links are then defined between the components, each link representing a respective spatial relationship. A processing system is then responsive to the template to populate the content region with content, generate a representation of each component and position the representation of each component in the document using the defined links to control the relative spatial positioning of the components.

Abstract: An electronic device displays at least a portion of an electronic document with a predefined page layout at a first magnification level on a display; detects a first input indicating a first insertion point in the document, where the first insertion point is proximate to a first portion of text in the document; and in response to detecting the first input: selects a second magnification level different from the first magnification level, where the second magnification level is selected so as to display the first portion of text at a target text display size, and, while maintaining the predefined page layout of the document, displays, at the second magnification level, a portion of the document that includes the first portion of text.
