The client device also determines an expected availability of one or more target users for interaction (e.g., interaction via particular types of communication session types, such as voice, video, text, etc.). The client device performs a processing function on at least one data object associated with the group of target users based on (i) whether the determined degrees of relation satisfy the specified parameters of the query, and (ii) the expected availability of the one or more target users in the group of target users.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method and apparatus for sending and retrieving location relevant information to a user by selecting and designating a point of interest that is displayed on a graphical user interface and sending the location information associated with that point of interest to a receiver that is also selected using the graphical user interface. The location relevant information may also include mapped routes, waypoints, geo-fenced areas, moving vehicles etc. Updated location relevant information may also be continuously sent to the user while generating updated mapping information on the graphical user interface. The present invention may be practiced by using communication devices such as a personal computer, a personal digital assistance, in-vehicle navigation systems, or a mobile telephone.

A processor analyzes a plurality of entries of selected colors associated with the topic received from a plurality of members and renders a graphical object composed of differently-colored bands, each band having a length commensurate with a respective proportion of member entries selecting that color for association with the topic. Network-based access for display of the graphical object associated with the topic is provided to a plurality of members.

A GUI according to a first type helps the user keep track of recent life stories and comments posted by other users of the collaborative system, and a GUI according to a second type helps the user view life stories of any user in a chronological manner.

Abstract: The subject matter of this specification can be embodied in, among other things, a computer-implemented method including generating first instructions for presenting, on a computing device, a first view of an inbox that lists multiple electronic messages and for presenting a control, concurrently with the first view of the inbox, that indicates one or more alternate views available for the inbox. Each of the alternate views separate the electronic messages within the inbox into two or more concurrently displayed sections. Abstract: Certain embodiments teach a method and system for pairing users, whom do not know each other for an event, on a social networking platform. The social dining system matches people with common interests and organizes an offline event, such as a meal at a restaurant, based on user profiles, availability, and other attributes. For example, the social dining system can schedule a group meal for a user, and five to seven other people that share an interest with the user. In cases where a user prefers to be attend events with at least one known user, a single profile for the user and the known user is created as a mutual or a blended profile. The system then creates an event by matching the mutual profile with other members using a blending algorithm.

The coordinating device may incorporate one of the multiple commands into a global command queue and may annul the other(s). Events for individuals may be collected from various enterprise-based information systems automatically using adaptors that are specially tailored for particular types of information systems. Such events may then be used to populate event feeds regarding individuals in that enterprise. A filtering model for formulating event feeds identifies events by individual, event type, and event time. The filter also identifies which individuals are in which group of a participant, and identifies which groups correspond to which event types. Incoming events may then be filtered into the event feeds depending on the group to which the individual belongs. A user interface for a participant to view and edit group membership is also provided.

Abstract: A system and method for presenting an interface to a user of a mobile device, the interface allowing a user to identify and select data that is to be transmitted to another mobile device. In some embodiments, the interface generated by the system allows the user to select data for transmission based on relationship associations. The relationship associations, for example, may include pre-defined groupings of data that are tailored to a specific relationship between the user and another person. Accordingly, the user may employ the interface to quickly locate data that would be appropriate to transmit given the particular relationship between the user and the person to receive the data. Abstract: A system and method for generating a ghost profile is disclosed. The ghost profile allows a user to use certain features in a social network without converting to a social network profile. The ghost profile is generated when a member of the social network invites a user to join. In one example, the member is automatically added as a friend to the user's ghost profile.
